lots of character, really nice country historical feel to staying here. very clean & relaxing place to stay.
in the booking it states the breakfast is included but no where on the booking. com site or on the confirmation booking did it tell you this was only a continental breakfast & you have to pay more for a cooked breakfast. this should be noted as part of the booking process.

Really nice hotel and the price gave great value for money. Rooms were all excellent and larger than we expected with a shower that provided heat and power, always nice to have one after a long shift on site. Continental breakfast was perfect and offered an array of choice, you also have the option for a cooked breakfast but this is an additional £12.75. Evening meals were an ok standard. Whilst waiting at reception to check in I noticed a leaflet for using the whole place as a wedding venue. You get the entire hotel to yourself along with 24 rooms including the honeymoon suite. All I can say if I was close by and getting married (which I'm not) this would be the venue of choice as the package is unbelievable and what I would consider as very cheap for the area.
Only poor feedback I can offer is to do with food. The triple cooked chips had not density to them and would much prefer freshly cooked chips. The beautiful beef brisket and ale pie was delicious along with the peas but the creamy mash didn't taste creamy and was quite dry, once the juice from the pie was used it really required additional gravy to finish the rest of the mash.

It’s a very charming building. We had a suite and the room was really big, nice comfy bed, comfy chairs / sofa to sit on, nice double shower in the bathroom. The dinner was delicious, it was a New Year’s Eve set menu but there was plenty of choice and everything was fresh and yummy. The staff were friendly especially the owner, even though it was New Year’s Eve she looked after us at dinner and made us feel really welcome. Was a bit disappointed it was only a continental breakfast until we saw the huge selection! It was very good (and nice that they let us know beforehand that it was continental included in the price only). Very reasonable cost to stay. Would recommend to others.

The location is perfect. The Roundabout is a traditional-style hotel and is immaculately maintained. Room 110 is very generously sized. Breakfast was wonderful - the continental was included and the optional cooked items were very reasonably priced. The breakfast staff were excellent.
Keeping someone onsite after 22.00 would have been good. The bar closed very promptly at 22.00 and we appeared to be left alone without anyone to ask about anything had there been a reason to do so. I couldn't log onto the Wifi as neither of the two passwords in the hotel info folder in the room didn't work and there were no staff members to ask.

I just expected a hotel room but I was very pleased when I was put in what I called a one bed cottage. It looked so pretty & right by the gardens. I loved the room, it just had a lovely cosy feeling as soon as I walked through the door. Very clean & tidy! Had the continental breakfast which was lovely, plenty of choice. Staff excellent. I had my 4 year old grandson with me. He was the only child around so I thought it may of been adults only but he behaved thankfully & the staff made him feel welcome!
The only thing I would say is there were a lot of cobwebs in the window above the shower but didn’t spoil my stay! Just giving a thumbs up

Our room was a large suite with a very comfortable four-poster bed, traditional furnishings, a desk and sofa, and a large bathroom. It was well-kitted out and very traditional English country hotel style
There is no lift in the main building, although the staff were very kind and helped us up the stairs with our suitcases. The entrance is locked around 10.00 pm on weeknights, so you need to have made arrangements to check in if you are arriving late. Once you have checked in, you can use your door key to return to the hotel if the door is locked.

The bedroom was lovely, and surprisingly cool given the outside temperature when we arrived. The owner was extremely helpful as we arrived a few hours before the published check-in time. Our room wasn't ready but the owner went out of her way to find a room that was ready to enable us to check in as we were going off to a function for the rest of the day. Lovely, proper fluffy bath-sized towels were available as was a kettle, biscuits, tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent. We opted for the Continental, a cooked breakfast was available at extra cost. There was plenty of choice with a variety of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, toast, croissants, pastries, cold meats, cheese and boiled eggs plus, tea, coffee and a selection of juices. Excellent value for money, friendly and helpful staff - would definitely recommend.
The only minor niggle was the bathroom. Although spotlessly clean, apart from the vent for the extractor fan, it was showing signs of wear and tear. The bath panel was loose and some of the sealant around the edge of the bath and at the base of the wash basin was coming loose. Non-slip mat for the bath when using the shower would also be a welcome addition.

The room was well furnished and comfortable although the bed was large for room size this wasn't a problem. The bathroom overall was satisfactory but the shower really good.. The continental breakfast was excellent everything you would expect and unexpected delicious warm puff pastry ham 'envelopes freahly baked. .
On booking and in room the evening menu had venison, roast pork an several other main courses not offered on Saturday which was disappointing as dishes offered and chosen were neither as well prepared as could be and disappointing -

The hotel has a lot of character and is very nicely decorated and furnished. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere. It is in a lovely position in a very good residential area with easy access to the surrounding areas. Our room was in the annexe and was very quiet and spacious. The four poster bed was very comfortable and the bedding was good quality. Everything was very clean. There was a bath with overhead shower and plenty of hot water! The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. The breakfasts were good and there was plenty of choice. The dining room is very pleasant overlooking the gardens and you can sit outside on a nice day. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return.
A minor comment would be that the lighting in the bedroom was a bit low level making it difficult to read. This did not detract from our enjoyment though.

Everything to high standard...Gorgeous oldy worldy type Inn.....furniture carpets all high standard..lovely countryside..lovely continental breakfast...Beautiful xmas decorations...new shower room..100% would return....thank you
As Google maps had it previous on map we had to drive back and forth 3 times (hardly their fault) However a lit sign could be helpful.... 'Mugs' in rooms would be better (in my opinion!) rather than smaller cups to get most out of tea...and a decent size drink....but that's hardly a fault at all...
