We regularly visit Ilfracombe and we love this hotel. It’s by far the best we’ve stayed in there. I’ve also stayed there as a single female traveller and have always felt perfectly safe and comfortable.

The breakfast is good. The hotel is clean. The staff are very good and accommodating. The location is very good.

Did not have breakfast. The bedroom had a duel aspect with a sea view which was a bonus. Bathroom was a nice size with a lovely hot shower. Nice to have windows that you could open and hear the sea. Lovely level walk into town.

View from our bedroom wasn’t very good as the house/hotel opposite was horrendous and loads of rubbish in the garden but that wasn’t hotels fault.

We turned up after a long day of cycling, and the hotel was accommodating. They offered to store our bikes, found a USB cable (as we'd forgotten one) and were generally helpful and polite. We had to leave pre-breakfast time in the morning and unfortunately they couldn't provide an early breakfast but they did offer a refund of the breakfast cost without having to ask.

The room was very hot which we couldn't easily adjust - we did open the windows but the seagulls were in full song...

The hotel has bags of character. As others have said, a bit of a time warp (fluorescent lamps - seriously?) but in a fun way.:

There were no radiators on but it was unpleasantly warm at night. Either above the kitchen or because neighbouring rooms were occupied by guests who like to swelter. People divide into those who go round putting radiators up and those who turn them down. Maybe ask guests which camp they are in?

I loved the "Call the midwife " decor Dont you dare to moder it up. ;):) Takes you back faaar before my time. It can be atraction . Loved my room spacy and sea view. Lots of breakfast option something for everybody. And location in the middle of shops , restaurant and harbour 5min walk I'm coming again ...no it wasn't a threat

I didint stay long enough

Great central location - Room was a single, so quite small but perfectly adequate, clean and comfortable with everything I needed. Didn't eat in the hotel.

No flexibility over breakfast time. Was offered a time of 9am but this was too late for me. This was apparently because the hotel is essentially a coach tours hotel - so I stayed on room only basis.

Room was clean, well maintained and had everything I needed. Location was excellent, close to everything. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.

Excellent location, fun evening entertainment and very friendly staff.
