First, Jo, tge owner and manager, cook, and most other things! She is a delightful and amazing person. And a terrific cook. Second, Breakfast was great: eggs 3 ways, bacon, sausages, lovely mushrooms, the obligatory fresh tomatoes, gf options including great Tesco Tiger Bread, fruit, great coffee, tea, juices, and croissants. In a lovely breakfast room, with a sweet and kind server. Third, the house itself: it is old so has plenty of charm. But it’s been completely updated, and is spotlessly clean. Its location so close to the harbor is wonderful, but yet it’s very quiet and peaceful inside. The only two negatives for us, because we are in our late 70’s and mid 80’s, were: the 3 flights of stairs to get to our third floor room, and the fact that it was very very hot that night and all the heat in the building rose right up to our room, so it was hard to be comfortable. But this was in a really unusual heat wave in Britain in September, 2023, so no buildings were cool anywhere, except for the few with a/c. We would stay there again (unless it were in the 90’s again), because of Jo, tge great meal we had, and the charming experience of being in such an old and beautiful house.

See above.

- The room and bathroom were super clean. - Love the fact that the owner tells us to remove our footwear before entering the bedroom. It felt like 'home from home' as we do the same. - Service was brilliant. - Bed was so comfortable. - Breakfast was impressive. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Provided us with some tips about the area and directions. - Facilities in the room were just perfect. A lot of thought went into this. Biscuits and hot chocolate were a treat. - My sister and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just 1 minor thing. Couldn't open the bedroom window. It was stuck. Luckily, the room did not get hot in the night. It was cool and airy.

We really liked this comfortable guest house. We enjoyed our 2 night stay in the superior super king room. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We appreciated that she offered and made us a tasty breakfast sandwich each to take with us on the ferry to Lundy island (because we did not have time to go down for breakfast on the 1st day - Thank you). The super king bed gave plenty of space and had lovely clean sheets. The shower was powerful. There was a good view of the hill and sea from the window. We liked the armchairs and table by the window view. The room was spacious. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was very tasty and good quality (the sandwich on day one and full breakfast and buffet on our second day when we went down to the attractive breakfast room). The hotel is in a convenient, peaceful and pretty location with only a few minute walk to the public car park, harbour/ferry and restaurants/takeaways near the harbour and front.

We would have liked to be able to open all the big front windows (where the view to the sea is) wide - rather than only one window able to open a small amount with the window dolly, because the room was hot/stuffy in the sun and needed more air - even though there was a fan to use. It would also be lovely to have larger bath towel/sheets in the bathroom.

Jo was a lovely and friendly host. Our twin room was at the top of the building with a great view of Ilfracombe and Verity, the Damien Hurst art piece at the end of the harbour. Our room had lovely tea facilities, including biscuits. We were worried that the bathroom/wetroom, located up a couple of steps, might flood into our room, but didn't at all! The breakfast was excellent, with lovely choice of hot food, which we tailored to our preferences.

Very simple negatives, which could be an error on our part. We missed the continental options for breakfast (fruit, yogurt, mini waffles) which we only noticed on the way back to our room. The bathmat was kept on a towel rail next to the sink and we hadn't realised it was the bathmat until we left . We had presumed it was a hand towel so perhaps could be kept/left somewhere more obvious.

Was very close to the Harbour and close to where we had stayed previously. Very good Breakfast. Tried very hard to make us feel welcome .

On the top floor and was a fair hike up with our luggage. We did find that rather difficult. Help was not offered . Coming down the stairs was a a bit steep and vertigo at the top. The Bedroom was good and a Bath in the bedroom was very nice, but we tried very hard to keep water in the Bath, but still a lot of water did go over the side. Sorry, I did clean up, but will would come back again, but not that room.

The staff was friendly, the dining room was very well presented, and good choice of breakfast.

No fridge in the room or soap dish in the shower, no parking, and the people above my room was noisy.

This hotel is very nicely furbished, easy to get to and nearby all the restaurants/attractions in Ilfracombe. There are 3 car parks nearby so it's not difficult to park up and walk over. Jo very nicely greeted me and told me everything I needed to know. Considering it's got everything you need for a nice stay, I think it's also very reasonably priced. I would no problem staying here again.

It was very cute, I found it easily enough. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had to be out at 8am so I was asked if I would like some breakfast to takeaway which was great opted for a bacon sandwich. It was ready for me when I left. Perfect. I had a lovely room, a nice big shower and hot water. The whole place was cosy and I would stay again.

All was fine with me. May not suit all as it’s on a hill.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Lovely homely vibe. Decor was lovely. Slept comfortably and peacefully. Great food and plenty to choose from for breakfast. Cooked food made very well. Staff very attentive during meal service. Lots of little detailed touches which add to the experience of being a guest.

Nothing we didn’t like! Maybe mattress could be a little newer but we have a very top spec one at home.
