The location of the hotel was excellent. The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. Any requests were met. The beds were very comfy. The bar was lovely. The manager, who's name we didn't find out, was excellent, just the right balance of being helpful and informative, but not overbearing. All the young staff were excellent, obviously well trained. We were able to discuss the small issues with the manager on our departure.

In Room One there is a very strong smell of ?damp. I should really have said at the beginning of our stay, but kept hoping with the window open it would improve. It did a little. There were a few light bulbs out. One on arrival, which was resolved promptly. There were a few cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. I feel there was not enough attention to detail, as these issues should not arise in what is marketed as a five star hotel. Just as a comment, we found the stairs leading down to the bathroom rather challenging and if we were to return would book a room without stairs.

This was our 4th stay since 2017, we really like coming to this hotel. We have been lucky to have experienced both the extra decadent rooms, the private use of a hot tub in these rooms is appealing. We like the atmosphere of the hotel and find the staff very helpful and attentive.

The location of room we stayed in is very close to the kitchen and where the housekeepers supplies are so it can become noisy. The infrared sauna on the terrace did not seem to work. There was an influx of slater bugs in the bathroom. The bath needs some attention, the turn valve to open and shut the plug is loose and shows a gap down the back of the bath.

Loved the room very comfy bed and everything you need for a comfortable stay. My only mini complaint is the glass bathroom door ..I can’t imagine Anyone wanting to view their partner on the toilet! All staff very helpful in hauling my heavy suitcase back and forth to the room. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in our trip around Scotland.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were attentive and helpful and very welcoming. There wasn’t any milk in the room for tea and coffee but this was brought within two minutes of us requesting it. Our Saturday night dinner was simply amazing. We had the roasted cauliflower with nuts and baba ganoush as well as two delightful desserts. Gabriel, in particular, looked after us impeccably. As is so often the case, it is the staff who make an experience special, and the team this weekend did this perfectly.

Nothing! As a runner, it’s hard when your morning run ends with an uphill, but the nice view from the restaurant in the evening made the short climb up from the town worthwhile!

VERY GOOD STAFF. VERY COMFORTABLE ROOM, EXCEPT THAT IT WAS ADVERTISED WITH AIR CONDITIONING AND THE PICS SHOWED AN AIR CONDITIONER BUT ONE OF OUR 2 ROOMS DID NOT HAVE AN AIR CONDITIONER IN IT. THE STAFF HOWEVER UPGRADED THIS ROOM TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH ONE WHICH HAD AN AIR CON, SO IT WAS OK. BUT JUST THE INCONVIENENCE OF THE MOVE AND THE WRONG INFORMATION WAS 1 POINT MINUS. OTHERWISE A VERY GOOD HOTEL AND VERY COMFORTABLE. STAFF WAS TRULY EXCEPTIONAL.

The staff were superb, really stood out as being so helpful. The extra decadent room #5 was perfect with hot tub looking out over the city and nice big room and bathroom. The quality of the food was excellent as well.

We booked the extra decadent room and at first were given #10, which technically had the same features but was essentially under the property and was dark and a little noisy from people in the room/restaurant above running around until 1130pm on creaky floorboards. We were moved to room #5 the next day for the remainder of the stay and this is the one from the pics that we expected so this was much better.

The big comfy bed, bath and shower. The breakfast in the morning was lovely.

The creaky floor everytime you moved, the surfaces were very dusty, and underneath the glass topper. Not having any milk to go with the tea and coffee facilities... Had to phone reception.
