The staff greeted us and my dog with open arms even bringing a bowl of water and treats for her - nice touch We also understand that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant but we were made most welcome by having a table reserved for us to eat our evening meal in the bar area It's a wonderful pet-friendly hotel set in a beautiful location next to the Beech and my dog had a fantastic time running around and playing in the sand I can most certainly highly recommend the Royal Golf Hotel in Dornoch - the staff was exceptional, the view from our room was fantastic looking out towards the beech, and the food was delicious

Spacious well decorated bedroom with an incredibly comfortable bed, and two tweed covered armchairs to sit on. The staff were very welcoming and obviously very well trained….they couldn’t be more helpful.
The heating in the conservatory dining room was inadequate, both in the evening and the morning. This meant that it was not very comfortable for eating the otherwise excellent food. The small radiators under the large picture windows were not fit for purpose, and didn’t warm the room. The double glazed windows rattled and were draughty in the wind, and need to be upgraded along with the radiators.

The setting of the hotel was lovely. The meals were well done. Definitely take advantage of the on site restaurant as the options in the village are extremely limited. The rooms in the hotel were comfortable with the inevitable quirks you find in an older building.
As the town is very small we did experience many closures of shops and options for meals. Sunday and Monday are not good days to be traveling in many areas of the highlands. So many places are swarmed by the tour buses and cruise ships so it makes it often difficult to enjoy many of the stops in the area, finding a meal, facilities or even the scenery. There was no lift which of course is not unusual with the venues you’ll find north of Inverness.

the staff were excellent the location is great and the room overall is good.
no toiletries except soap in a fixed dispenser in the shower and wash basin therefore when having a bath nothing at all to shave or wash with. when paying £200 per night this is not acceptable. no bath robes.!! we stayed the same time last year and reported that one of the lights on the free standing lamp did not work sadly it is still not working!!( no point in letting you know). the same goes for the door latch it was not working last year and still is not. At night there is a noise coming from the fridge sufficient to disturb your sleep, we switched it off. £11 being charged for a glass of Prosecco is just extortionate.

stayed in room 229. ‘partial’ sea view. we loved the room as sea view was great, could see the lighthouse from afar and watched the sunrise in the morning from bed! spacious and clean. the staff were very friendly esp during breakfast service where food was lovely and great choice. The view during breakfast was beautiful too.
There was zero toilet paper when we arrived. After receiving this, we realised there was only a fraction of shower gel in the bottle so needed that topped up. The room was cold during the night and wifi died not reach the room. The bed was huge but 2 mattresses pushed together though not a big issue

The staff went out of their way to make sure that our trip was memorable. We asked if there was a chance we could have our room earlier which we did and also had a free upgrade. As it was my birthday weekend a lovely birthday present was left in my room. The room was amazing and would fully recommend staying here.
Everything was perfect. Staff went out out of their way to help you.

Location was superb with a lovely view out to the first tee and beyond that, the Dornoch Firth. Room was nice, with a great shower and Arran Aromatics toiletries.
Some of the corridors were a bit tired looking. My room was on the ground floor near the kitchen area and had a fairly strong smell of food in the evening. It was also pretty expensive for a single room.

Lovely little corner room with great view of the first hole. Clean, stylish, functional, and pet-friendly. Lovely brasserie for dinner, and again for breakfast, with panoramic views of the course. We played the Struie course and it was so convenient to walk barely 50m from the hotel to the first tee. Lovely friendly and helpful staff also..
Very little - if we’re picky, a bar fridge would have been useful in our room, and a queen bed rather than double..

We were here, four of us, for a sibling get together, the first since lockdown. It was the perfect venue and the weather made it even more special. Our twin rooms both overlooked the golf course and the sea beyond, which was an added bonus. The evening meal, served in the conservatory dining room, was superb - perfectly cooked and piping hot and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Breakfast was amazing!
There was nothing we didn't like!

Comfort of room and bathroom and stunning views from the breakfast room
No lift and a lot of stairs to second floor room. Had to ask for suitcase to be delivered to the room. One set of towels in a room for two, tried ringing reception on room phone without success so rang reception on my mobile which was answered and second set of towels brought promptly. Very expensive dinner menu in our opinion.
