Shower and room were great, recent refurb. Decent parking.

Waitress at dinner first night not helpful, insisted a dish on the special board was a mains which in fact was a starter which we ordered no problem Saturday night. As Friday was a special occasion for us it spoiled the meal a bit. Waitress for the dessert was lovely and young girls waitressing on the Saturday were doing their best on a busy night . Need more staff imo and check out was just leave your key, no one on desk to give a personal touch which was something missing throughout our stay.

Well cooked and hearty breakfast, nice coffee and friendly service. Our room although small was comfortable, nicely furnished and decorated. The shower was easy to use with plenty of hot water. Good food from the restaurant, again well portioned. We had our small but well behaved dog with us, so she was allowed to sit under our table in the bar area. We were a distance from our relative in Kendal but we could usually make the journey in 15 minutes. We believe the Gilpin is very well situated for exploring the Lake District.

Not a thing.

A good welcome on our arrival. All staff we came into contact with were very friendly an nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were well presented, clean and cosy. We had dinner each evening and the menu had a good selection and “yummy” desserts. Good idea to prebook your chosen breakfast and time. Breakfast was well cooked and portions to set you up for the day.

No issues. Well done. The Wi-Fi at some times was not brilliant, but this was not the fault of the hotel.

Breakfast excellent, very quiet at night, was there for a meeting but location is excellent for business (onward travel to Furness & W Cumbria) or leisure (tourism).

Door entry keypad was awkward, not easy to see due to worn characters - needed reading glasses! Wasn't shown to my room - not easy to find in dim corridors. No direction signs, & rooms have names not numbers. Tried every one before finding mine. In late evening the place was deserted, so moved my motorcycle from middle of car park to a less-visible spot in a corner. Was asked to move it, couldn't see why. These are only minor niggles but feel I should mention them.

Perfect for travelling with our dogs. All of us were made to feel very welcome. Arrangements for access as required with the dogs was great. Easy to get them into a routine. Very accommodating, allowing my Aunty to join us for breakfast. The food was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The bed was a bit small. Position of the toilet was awkward with the toilet roll behind you.

Staff very friendly & helpful, we were given a warm welcome and the receptionist/bar manager at the time insisted on carrying my suit case up to my room which was very kind and unexpected, location perfect for us as easy access to M6. Room lovely, dinner good, breakfast great, just a lovely place to stay, National Trust properties nearby as a bonus!

Nothing!

Breakfast was good. Staff were pleasant and this place was adequate for an overnight stopover.

We booked dinner in the restaurant. The food was good but the portions were enormous and we struggled to get half way through the amount of food. There must be so much waste from the kitchen. Beef was a bit on the tough side but difficult to get right with the throughput of meals we witnessed that night. The inn was a very convenient stopover on our was further south and would stay there again but request half portions of food.

A good English breakfast, room was very nice and quiet, shower was large. Great location for access to the Lakes and M6!

No wardrobe just an open rail. I couldn't get wifi although a service was advertised as available. Car park large but spaces too small for the average car (luckily not too busy during my stay).

The breakfasts were excellent, very generous portions as were the evening meals we chose. Cooked to a very high standard. Tom who checked us in and looked after requirements was excellent, made us feel welcome from the outset. All staff were attentive, never waited for anything. Claire’s breakfast was amazing.

The bedroom was a little small, but definitely fit for purpose. A seating area away from the dining area would have been appreciated. All in all there’s nothing that we didn’t like.

This hotel cannot be overrated. It is in a good location, has friendly staff, comfortable and spotless rooms but, by far the biggest asset was the quality of food on offer - absolutely top notch for both evening meals and breakfast.

I honestly can't fault anything with the Gilpin Bridge Inn.
