The hotel room and bar areas (recently updated and modernised) had nice fresh feel. Bar area/restaurant nice design, warm and cosy feel. Excellent breakfast. Bedroom very nice and comfortable - it had everything we needed for our 1-night stay. (Colour temperature of room lighting was a little too cool). Would happily stay at this hotel on future visits to the area. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.
No real dislikes. We enjoyed our short stay. Just one comment regarding travel directions supplied via booking.com ... The guide says leave the 'M6 at junction 35', but it didn't say this applies only when travelling Northwards on the M6. We were travelling Southwards, and should have exited at junction 36 !!

The location is great- so near the estuary with great views. All the staff were friendly and really eager to assist. The cheese and onion pie on the main menu is lovely, and there are meal deals at lunchtime. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Lots of contact with the staff prior to arrival, e.g, with directions. The train to Grange over Sands is a wonderful trip, and the station at Arnside is 10 mins away. There is a general store very near the pub plus cafes etc. There is a vegetarian breakfast available as standard. We will definitely return. It's a wonderful place.
The evening meal menu had only 2 veggie mains and ALL the 6 or so specials on the Thursday night were meat dishes, which excluded vegetarians and seemed unbalanced as there were plenty of meat dishes on the main menu already. More veggie dishes would be lovely 😍. Nothing else to fault 😋.

Excellent and comfortable accomodation full of character with an exceptional view of the estuary and lake district beyond. Breakfasts were delicious with very quick and accommodating service. The location is excellent to explore the quaint shops & cafes Arnside and lovely local walks to the Arnside Knot & Fairy Steps. The Lake District is easily accessible via a short drive and the train station provides easy access to Lancaster castle & town. The restaurant, bar and beer garden were a great way to end the day with excellent food, and all of the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
Nothing, everything exceeded expectations.

This is a quaint typical English hotel with good facilities. Food was above standard particularly dinner. Staff were entertaining, helpful and welcoming. The owner was always available. There are EV charging stations in the free off road parking area. The room was very warm and considering the sub zero temperatures it was great to be so cosy. The location is ideal - only a five minute walk from Arnside railway station and plenty of good walking areas. Lots of surrounding towns to visit. Kendal has a great community church, Windermere is a busy town with lots of cafes and restaurants.
The room was a little tired but the owners having already accomplished an attractive refurbishment of the ground floor restaurant and bar are moving on to the rooms. A new mattress may help! Generally though the room was comfortable with relaxing interior decor.

The decor in the pub area was lovely and airy, the staff really friendly and approachable.
We stayed in the Queen deluxe bedroom The Leighton Moss was super comfy but a little small and was hoping to have a couple of comfy chairs to sit and look out over estuary because the bed was so comfy when I lay on it to chill and watch tv ended up falling asleep! I did also notice that when I wanted to do my hair in the morning there was no seat in front of the mirror and when I did move the chair the mirror was too high and the plug sockets were not close to the mirror if I sat on the bed.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Check-in was very efficient and friendly. Our accommodation was upgraded to more spacious rooms with magnificent views across the bay - at no extra charge. We were provided with secure storage for our bicycles, which was important to us. Our evening meal was excellent, with a wide range of tempting dishes at very good value. Breakfast was also very good. The landlord, landlady and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in Arnside is stunning. Easy access for a bracing walk up Arnside Knott.
It would have been nice to stay a little longer.

EXCELLENT VALUE. Great location. Clean comfy room, facilities all good. Very nice evening meal in the restaurant - the best Cullen Skink ever, and a very good fish pie. Beer very good too. Parking also fine. Would love to stay again (have thought for years it'd be so lovely to stay there in one of those Seaview rooms at the front 😊) Great for walks along the shore, and for nearby (short drive, or few miles walk) RSPB Leighton Moss.
Ahh I thought I'd booked one of the rooms at the front with the big full-on sea view, but it turns out I hadn't. We had a side view, we could still see the sea and the viaduct though 😊 Never mind, I'll know what to ask for next time.

I arrived early and was able to leave my car in the car park to go for a walk with the dog before check in. After my walk I was able to check in a little earlier. My room had everything for my stay, was clean, with nice decor. The bed was comfortable. During my stay the staff were attentive and friendly, nothing was too much. There were also dog towels, dog bowls, and my dog enjoyed the selection of treats. I had a nice breakfast, my only minor grunt would have been to have more butter at breakfast and maybe some apple juice on selection. Overall myself and the dog had a really enjoyable stay, plenty of walks in a really nice location.
As above. I had a nice breakfast, my only minor grunt would have been to have more butter at breakfast and maybe some apple juice on selection.

Tony and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The Queen room was clean and tidy... a few reviews have suggested dated ! Well... yes an old building so beautifully dated ! .. bed and bedding comfortable. Choice of having a bath but we didn't.. loved this place ! Had food and drinks in warm welcoming bar and separate restaurant. No complaints.. parking behind hotel was safe and easy to walk up few steps from there to room. Very reasonably priced and definitely preferred Arnside compared to the other busy areas. Fantastic views of morecambe Bay across the road. Would highly recommend.
Having to leave a day earlier due to severe weather warning coming in and a 6 hr drive home !

We received a warm welcome and were provided with a large family room. It was clean and comfortable but had only one chair. The bed was very comfortable and gave a good night's sleep. The view across the estuary was magnificent. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cold or cooked food. The dinner offered in the evening provided a good selection and the quality of the food was excellent. There was a good range of quality real ale. The staff were invariably cheerful and helpful. They did their best to ensure that we had a enjoyable stay.
Our room was in a separate building which meant braving the elements to reach the dining room or bar.
