It was bright and clean. Welcoming from the moment we turned in drive. Beautiful planters, comfortable bed. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and milk in fridge. Quality towels and super shower. Super fast broadband. Fabulous place to bring my old quiet Labrador. Parking excellent. Communication before was brilliant, with exact instructions how to get there.

Only a small thing. Could have done with either a switch by the bed to turn off the lights or a lamp by the bed. We live in the country and are used to the dark, however in a strange room in the middle of the night you could do with easily turning light on.

It was a perfect location, very close to windermere, so that's best thing about the property! The property was clean. My little son enjoyed a lot seeing the sheep's all around. The property is perfect for Nature lovers who wants calm and serene environment. We all loved our stay.

Just one thing that would be great to have included is a cooking hob, as we don't do barbeque so often. But we love cooking our dinner and breakfast which was not really possible, as there is not much cooking facilities. Apart from this point, it was overall a great stay. very much recommended.

We had an excellent three days staying here in mid-November. The stable is exceptionally clean, very warm, and well-appointed for such a small property. It had the bare basics but still had more than we needed. The shower is great with loads of hot water. the kitchen area is small but ok for a simple breakfast. the small seating area was ok for the two of us and our small terrier. Be organised, don't bring too much and this stable is more than enough for a couple of days. The Punchbowl is a five-minute walk away which provides good quality pub grub and a nice pint. Take a couple of torches. It is a dark walk to the pub. We would come back and we will recommend it to our friends. Many thanks to Newlands Farm. Steve and Sandra.

The mattress on the double bed is very poor and could be replaced. Not comfortable at all.

Accommodation was lovely. Spacious and clean.

It was not clear at all that the pod and fire hut were part of Bracken Barn only. Other guests repeatedly came into these areas. The fire hut we didn’t mind as we used the gas BBQ but having people try to get into the pod where our teens were sleeping was not ok. At one point other guests walked right into the pod and I had to go and ask them to leave. Signage in the area would help possibly or add this information to the welcome pack inside the other accommodations.

Very quiet area and only 5 min walk from a lovely little local Pub. The dog field behind the Barn was an excellent addition and the owner and cleaner were both very knowledgeable on local walks.

The Barn was literally 20m from the high speed railway line which was a bit of a shocker at first, but you get used. The only other issue was the only cooking facilities is on the BBQ outside, nothing internal apart from a microwave, maybe this is explained in the description but i must of missed it. apart from this it was lovely.

The barn was lovely and warm, everything was very clean and comfortable and there is also underfloor heating. Also it’s very well located for Kendal and the South Lakes.

The only thing stopping this from being excellent was a few bits that would have made it easier for us and not have to keep popping out - there wasn’t any washing up liquid and we only had 2 toilet rolls for the group for a couple of nights that we had to go and get more. Just having a few basic amenities (more toilet roll, oil and washing up liquid) would have helped a lot.

It has been a pleasant stay. Room was big enough for our needs small kitchenette was useful and our dog particularly enjoyed the large field made available nearby. Overall quiet regardless of the proximity of the railway tracks.

Stay fell short on the small details. Even though table and chairs are provided on the patio just outside the room it could be beneficial to have a small foldable table available inside for those cold days. It is a really quiet lane but exiting the property by car could be made safer by setting up mirrors to improve visibility for incoming traffic.

The location was great for exploring the Lakes District and Yorkshire Dales. In the countryside and lovely walks can be done from there. We enjoyed the dedicated undercover barbecue area, individual gas barbecues as well as fire pits! We stayed in one of the small cabins (converted horse stables) which were small but ample for 2 people. Quiet rural area apart from a nearby railway line with trains coming by. WiFi reception was good too.

The trains running nearby throughout the night and a tap in the bathroom which was a bit problematic

The chalet was in a good location for visiting the Lake District. The area was rural and quiet with the exception of occasional noise of trains passing nearby. It had free parking and good free wi-fi. The beds were comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The chalet was clean, had good heating and felt cosy. The owners left a good amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk for us. There were also washing-up liquid and toiletries available. We were provided with a telephone number in case of any emergencies. Each chalet had their own outdoor furniture and a gas barbecue.

In our booking.com confirmation it stated that we booked a 'One-bedroom chalet. According to the confirmation from the owners of the property- it was a 'Traditional-Barn-Ensuite'. The chalet appeared to be a compact open-plan studio. It wasn't a major problem for us but caused a bit of confusion.

Lovely little place to stay, ideal location and everything you need in the stable, bbq was perfect! Still feels private considering you are so close to the next stable. Our dog enjoyed the private field for a little off lead exercise. The site manager was really helpful, our bbq ran out of gas and he was down within 10 minutes to change this for us which was great!

Road/Railway was a little noisy inside the stable but we were aware of the railway tracks before we booked so can’t complain. The smell of smoke from the fire pit outside was very strong inside the stable even though the door/curtain was closed, which wasn’t ideal with having a young baby.
