Good location with a beautiful view of the river, nice soundproof building with some stone touched walls in the rooms.

Even though it said no kids under 14 years allowed in the spa pool there were families with the kids (ages 4 - 10 years) shouting, splashing and jumping in the pool which made it impossible to relax. No action was taken by the staff. Therefore we tried going the next morning but there was another thing: Radio playing in the background with all the popular dance hits in the spa pool, It wasn't loud but, really? Considering where we were, ambient / relax / chill music or NO MUSIC at all would be so much better than radio hits at 8am. Very uncomfortable pillows. After 2 nights only we had sore neck and bad shoulders.

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Kids enjoyed the pool Room was really good size.

Family room was £195 for one night. Quite expensive for 1 nights stay! But understand it's probably on psr with others in the area. If it had been round the £150 price I probably would have booked 2 nights.

We had just done Helvellyn so were looking to stay somewhere nice with a pool/spa for the next day but didn’t cost an arm and a leg. It was one of the cheapest options and met our expectations. Nice room and comfy bed. Small breakfast but I filled up my plate with a very nice fry up. Steam room was good the next day, and jacuzzi by the pool was nice sat there for a few hours so was worth the stay.

Only think is it is a bit out of the way. We went for drinks in Windermere but because it was a 20-25 min drive back we couldn’t really stay out for long as had the car. Depends what you are after really

The location of the property is amazing. Right at the bottom of the Lake District. The river running alongside makes for a very tranquil setting. The spa facilities are available to use before you check in and after, which makes a nice change. Danielle, our server in the restaurant is brilliant and made our stay more enjoyable. The evening meal was beautiful and good value for money.

The rooms were a little dated and when I contacted the hotel to make the twin beds up as a double I was told that this wasn’t available to do even though when we checked into the room we were able to ouch the beds together ourselves.

The layout of the building was good and some of the staff was very helpful

Unfortunately some of the staff seemed to be not over helpful and do not present their self as being amenable that is a shame has this other stuff that are very very good at their job this hotel is very tired in places soft furnishings like certain settees in pub bar or upstairs may need replacing has springs I've gone in the city in my room the bathroom skirting was missing wardrobe doors did not meet properly when trying to shut them this is a shame as this is a lovely building just a little TLC can make all the difference

The room was really big and comfy , spotlessly clean except for windows We had a balcony And view was stunning . Pool and spa were great and clean too. Breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially dark haired girl on reception didn't get her mane but she was training another young lady and also long blond haired girl at breakfast - rushed off her feet but happy and smiling .

Although the place was slightly dated and worn in some parts ie carpets in our room were warn by balcony doors, it wouldn't stop us coming back again. First day breakfast was table service but next was buffet and a bit busy , only 1 girl on who was trying her best to get round everyone's drinks orders and she was so pleasant . Had to ask for eggs and sausage to be refilled but to be fair it was done very quickly . Great value for money

Fabulous location next to the river. Rooms where dated which was expected when booking so in no way a negative and I mention it as the place is spotless, very spacious and extremely well kept. Nice easy check in at reception and sitting outside the bar areas with a drink whilst the river flowed past was so tranquil. Leisure facilities did the job and again spotlessly clean even if the water temp of the pool and jacuzzi was a bit on the cooler side. Breakfast was basic in comparison to other places but it was hot and filled a hole ready for another day exploring this amazing area!

Nothing! Would happily return to this hotel

We enjoyed the views of the river from the window, could even see the waterfall. Friendly staff Huge selection for breakfast, proper sausages and bacon not the cheap poverty ones Restaurant food was really I nice, the duck was amazing Spa facilities, the sauna and steam room where boiling

For some reason most of the lampshades and photo frames through the hotel weren’t straight, nothing major to complain about, but a bit bizarre which set of my OCD The mattress was too soft for me personally. Very creeky bed Not enough bed loungers in spa

Breakfast was great. We upgraded our room, which was a very good size. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was everything you could need in the room, even an iron and ironing board. Leisure facilities were good. We would stay again.

Choice of dinner could have been better. There was little middle choice if you didn’t want burger or fish and chips or steak. As it was winter perhaps pies or casseroles would be well received. The lounge bar lacked atmosphere and sofas and chairs maybe should be upgraded to provide a more homely and comfortable place to sit. The rooms are a little dated, but adequate for a few nights stay. The hotel pool was cold but facilities generally were good.

Good location next to river. Nice comfortable hotel lounge and room. Very good food. Bonus of a jacuzzi and pool. Not as fancy as some other spa hotels but excellent value for money for three of us sharing one room. Helpful nice staff - the receptionists even allowed me to keep my paddleboard fully inflated on the conference room overnight, which was very accommodating.

The village of Newby Bridge is a good location for the Lakeside ferry and Foot Fell paddleboarding, but not much of a village feel, no local shop, no pub in walking distance, but the pub up the road opposite the steam railway station serves excellent food and the cafe in the car museum is very good too.
