The location. The staff

Cleanliness of bathroom was not 4 star. The rubber seal on shower screen was black and considering that bathroom was fairly new this was not good. Toilet roll holder stand had not been cleaned base was dirty. Skirting boards in room dusty .Tables in conservatory were not cleaned from previous guest. Had to ask 3:times for someone to clean .

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful which helped make the stay enjoyable. Fantastic location right on the lake and next to the ferry. Superb spa facilities. Very good breakfast.

The set price dinner was good, however every other item seemed to incur an extra cost. If you wanted steak for example it was an extra £18 on the £49 you already paid. Chips were an extra £8 and the sauce £4 - making £79 for a 3 course steak meal for 1! They even wanted an extra £4 for the smoked salmon starter. It just felt a bit mean and petty.

Hotel is in a great location in the southern tip of Windermere with pretty views. Literally a few steps away and you can grab the boat to Bowness or Ambleside. same with a small steam train to Haverthwaite. Spa facilities were lovely. Breakfast was typical, nothing amazing but nothing I felt was missing also.

We only ate at the brasserie as the restaurant was booked. Extremely limited options, zero imagination (burgers and fish & chips basically), average food and very expensive prices.

Room was great , plenty room and hang Abd facilities Remote missing from 107 for tv Restaurant and pub area were good and location to attractions also good

2day stay Friday breakfast servers were brilliant taking orders and delivery of food clearing plates Saturday Young ones on the floor not the best TBH slow to take orders delivery slow and dishes left for to long on the table almost thought we were invisible at one point Main meal 2 of our guests had the chicken dish ... it was not as expected and really looked processed Finding bar staff was a game of hide and let customer seek at one point a kitchen member went to the reception for us to find bar staff Couple of your staff need training on how to open a bottle of wine , both failed and we had to demonstrate how opener was used ... (n it was a bit Faulty Towers )

Position by lake and access to boats good. Parking. Check in quick and did offer to take luggage to room for us. Staff very pleasant. Nice pool and changing area. Room ok clean and comfortable. Breakfast choice good and two places to eat at night although we were not given choice which one when we booked for evening meal food was ok and was given vegan menu when I asked about vegetarian options. Definitely would stay again but would prefer room with view of lake.

Room was clean and comfortable but no view of lake ( should of checked when booked) it was a little noisy below. There were a few dogs in hotel and I hadn’t read this was an option and noticed one sitting on furniture in conservatory area and as someone who has allergies not good.

The hotel was beautiful! Spa and pool was spotless and really good except the jacuzzi which didn’t always work. The conservatory was big and comfortable to sit in and the fire was cosy to sit at night. The evening food was delicious but too pricey. The location was perfect. The views were amazing.

The bed was far too soft. The jacuzzi didn’t always work. The breakfast was disappointing as I asked for poached eggs on toast and I got one poached on a tiny piece of toast. Then the toaster broke down so didn’t get extra toast for ages. They got the order wrong and we had to get our own coffee cups as the table hadn’t been set properly. But they were very apologetic.

We were upgraded to a lake view room (305) and we loved our close view of the lake from the little window bay, with its two armchairs and table. Super swimming pool. Good food in the restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast.

Just one person on duty in a busy Reception, so we waited a little on arrival and then were not told how to get to our room ( which was not immediately obvious) - we needed to return to ask. Staff mainly friendly and helpful but could the serving team be better trained to work together? It always seems unfortunate when more than one asks for your order.

Friendly welcome with a guided tour to our room. We asked for a room change, staff listened to our request and we were moved. All staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The pool area was clean with plenty of towels and free to use lockers. Location was perfect, the gardens were beautiful and Charlie the peacock was a delight.

The pillows were uncomfortable and need replacing. The jacuzzi didn’t work properly and because there was no one on the spa desk, there was no one to report it to. I thought the stay was expensive and found out during our stay and by speaking to others that it is better to book direct.

location was amazing and better than expected, facilities were good, lovely pool, love light dinning and lounging areas and great play room for all ages

outside of restaurant meal times the service was very slow, nearly every customer had to go and ask for service or the bill or something, which is ok once of twice but i observed this to many times to count, the waiting on staff looking after the afternoon really had no idea about service, I didn’t really see a stand out manager, the service was sloppy and slow. so sad a such a beautiful hotel which is sold as high end, I think it’s a 5 star hotel, it would be a 10/10 if they had sorted this side of the operation out.

Beautiful hotel, with fabulous views, room was lovely with a comfortable bed. Staff were really friendly and greeting

The only negative would have been that I messaged the hotel 2 weeks in advance to remind them that I am celiac and would they be able to offer a hot gluten free breakfast- they agreed. On the morning of having our breakfast they stated they had no gluten free bread left which I was mostly disappointed as they should always accommodate those with dietary requirements, especially for such a grand expensive stay.
