Great find, nice little hotel with reasonable food. Room was really spacious and huge bed! Really dog friendly, even provided a bowl and biscuits upon arrival in the room for our pooch! Breakfast also included. We’ve had some horrendous stays on this Scotland trip so thought this was great value for £100.

As others have mentioned, areas could do with a refresh but it’s clear the owners are doing this bit by bit. The only other downside was other customers, two older Scottish couples who could be overheard complaining about anything and everything all of the time. But no complaints about the property!

We really appreciated a very warm and friendly welcome in this lovely hotel. Parking was easy and plentiful. There were green spaces to take our dog who travelled with us. The breakfast was fantastic! Would highly recommend this hotel as a great value option.

We were charged for our dog upon check out, this is completely fine (most hotels do) but we had not been notified prior to this. We were charged £3.20 for an upgraded latte coffee at breakfast, also fine but the coffee came in a small teacup and saucer. We felt this was a bit mean, if you pay full price for a coffee you expect a mug or a larger cup. Small things though, they didn't affect our stay.

The whole history of the hotel was wonderful. I love old buildings and this was obviously an old carriage lodge from days gone by. The accommodation was comfy and rooms very large. Cost was good too.

I really dislike showers over bathtubs. For the more senior travellers this can be a little dangerous, as there were no handrails to help get over the tub. I managed well but I'm just putting it out there that perhaps they need to put a bit more thought into that.

The room was large and comfortable and contained everything we could possibly need. Tea/coffee, kettle, hairdryer, sofa and chairs, toiletries, bottled water, large TV and iron/ironing board. Breakfasts were fabulous.... cooked and cold buffet with good selection. The windows looked onto the garden so I imagine would be particularly nice in the summer.

On our first night, the room became very cold but on the 2nd day it was fine. The furnishings and decor were a bit old fashioned and tired but everything was clean. There were plenty lamps but no main overhead light. The lamp at the dressing table was dull so it was difficult to see in the mirror when applying make-up.

We booked on a whim after travelling through the highlands for the week. There were weather warnings so we wimped out and we are so glad we did! Huge warm cosy room clean bathroom, parking and dog friendly. Massive comfy bed too!

I booked a room that stated it had a bath - after travelling all that time it was what I was looking forward to most and there was no bath. Just a shower. Was disappointed. Also didn’t rate the evening menu, we got takeaway and it was great. That said the breakfast was AMAZING- as were the breakfast room staff. Wonderful people.

Friendly staff, especially Susan and Helena at breakfast, and the Jock's Bar team. Good food, comfortable bed, and efficient and chatty check-in and departure. Liked having robes provided and both still and sparkling water.

A little more attention to detail on the cleanliness front in the bedroom drawers and its bathroom. It was a shame that the main restaurant wasn't open, but the manager at Jock's Bar was excellent and fitted us in.

The room was very comfortable and plenty of space.Breakfast was very good and the dining room was very pleasant.We were unable to book for dinner the night we stayed as we had gone for a music gig and the dining room was fully booked at the time we needed to eat.There is another pub nearby where we were able to get a good meal.

The bathroom was rather old fashioned by modern standards and we couldn't make the shower work properly but this didn't spoil our stay.We reported the fact on checking out.

Having read some reviews we were a little unsure about booking but were very pleasantly surprised on arrival and it turned out to be one of our favourite stays. Staff were friendly and welcoming to humans and dog. There was a fantastic choice at breakfast including a buffet hot breakfast where you can take what you like (without judgement…!). We booked a deluxe/superior room and were delighted to find lots of space, a nice view out over the garden and a four poster bed. Some of the decor is a little tired but it has an old charm to it and I enjoyed feeling like a lady of an old manor for a while. Would have happily stayed another night or two if there was availability.

Not sure whether other rooms will have the same wow factor but passed a few as they were being cleaned as we checked out and they seemed perfectly pleasant to me!

The Green Hotel was a perfect location for our Hot Air Balloon trip which is why I had originally booked , but I also came to find that it was set in a lovely wee town with beautiful views. The staff were all very friendly, chatty and great at what they do. The grounds of the Green Hotel are beautiful, we arrived at tea time and still had the weather to enjoy the stunning garden area. Definitely be back.

nice big room, and big bathroom. We had a meal in the bar area which was nice, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Nice outlook onto the enclosed garden.

The hotel needs a bit of tlc, the room really needs decorated and the bathroom grouting was awful. The public areas looked recently painted so maybe the rooms will follow. Bit pricey at £154 per night.
