Warm greeting. Immediately shown to my room after a long morning of travel. Room perfectly adequate for my needs as a single traveller. Only negative was that I had not packed bathroom basic toiletries, shower gel/shampoo and the small travel sized bottle of shower gel was not enough for my 2 day stay so I used the hand soap from the sink Bed super comfy. Room nice and warm yet with good ventilation if required. Breakfast recommended - hot, tasty, not greasy and nothing was too much trouble. Will stay again

It was winter and cold outside so the flora and fauna externally was lacking. I think the online photographs were taken in the Spring/Summer.

Lovely driveway down to the house and interesting public rooms. Bedrooms a bit Spartan in their minimalism. Freshly decorated. Loved staying in a room with steep green hillside outside window, but also stayed in another room that had a nice enough view out front until a car parked right in front of window. Not a problem with the blinds shut, though! Breakfast was good. Tea and coffee in rooms. Location was fine and more peaceful than in the centre of town, but a bit far for walking if you wanted a selection of restaurants and pubs. Plenty buses into town. Also on a bus route to Halbeath Park and Ride and neighbouring villages and beside a railway station. Auld Mill Hotel's own pub is friendly when busy enough to open. Drinks available by asking at reception until 10-ish otherwise.

Very friendly and helpful host. The hotel is situated in a very tranquil and green spot so you don’t hear the busy road although this is quite nearby. Therefore Dunfermline and Edinburgh are in easy reach. The rooms are spacious and well maintained and equipped. Beds are very comfy with very good pillows. Seldom have we stayed in a room which was só clean and I díd do the “white glove test”! A framed photo or painting would brighten up the room but now I’m being picky. We can therefore fully ánd gladly recommend this hotel.

Quiet, good location for where we needed to be. Rooms were obviously refurbished recently. Very clean and nicely appointed. Brent and his team all very friendly and helpful. We paid the extra for breakfast on our second morning which was good value and freshly cooked. USB points built into bedside lights which was a nice idea and helpful addition. Hairdryers on request. Tea/ coffee in room and extra available on request.

The road down to the hotel is a bit rough. Only one key available per room which was a bit tricky as we came back at separate times.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room, though small, was very comfortable with an excellent bed, good supply of USB charging points and very good sound-proofing. The home-cooked breakfast was truly excellent.

The kettle in the room was too large for the sink and the supply of coffee & tea a bit meagre (no decaffeinated coffee at all). There were no 3-pin plug sockets within reach of the bed. Parts of the hotel (particularly the driveway) are in need of some TLC.

The whole hotel is spotless. Breakfast was delicious. Mattress and pillows were very comfortable.. Set in a peaceful location but in walking distance of the train station for Edinburgh and a short car ride to Dunfermline. We had a wonderful couple of nights and will return next year.

The only thing which we didn't like was our room was the nearest to the front door so when anyone came in and out of their rooms, we had the banging doors and loud guests but it wouldn't put us off staying here as it's a beautiful and very clean hotel.

The positive energy of this place is off of the charts. Clean, comfortable, and quiet, it is the perfect stay. The staff and owner are so welcoming and go out of the way to provide attention to all details. I simply am at a loss for words. Highly recommend the Auld Mill House. And you support small business.

Very welcoming and helpful, provided invaluable guidance for travel to and from city centre. Location was very quiet and peaceful. Clean and basic amenities. Plenty of outlets for charging. Shower had good water pressure. All rooms appeared to be on ground level, so potentially good accessibility for people with mobility issues. Train station around 5-8 minutes walk from the bnb, takes about 30 minutes to get directly into city centre.

A tiny tiny bit off the beaten path, building is down a driveway that could be easily missed however there is signage to help. Just be aware of your surroundings leading up to the right turn. Not any fault of the bnb, just an observation.

Lovely place to stay, hospitality was fabulous. Alan was one of the nicest people we have met he is so kind and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful, our room (1) was lovely cleaned to a high standard and exceptionally warm, decor was lovely and bed and pillows were comfortable cannot fault our stay in any way and good parking on site too. A big thanks to the Auld mill hotel for a fabulous stay we will definitely be returning do not hesitate to book this little gem you won't be disappointed. Thank you.

Nothing to dislike.

It was a nice friendly hotel. It wasn't 5 star but it was well worth the money. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the Manager/owner was very helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked and our young (3) ate free. The hotel is about 10 mins from Deep Sea World, we went there before heading off. We will definitely stay again.

The 7 hour drive to get here and I was blasted by a horn for getting into the wrong lane at the penultimate roundabout.
