We didn't have to go far for food and drinks. There was plenty of things around us. Fast food places, bowling, bingo, cinema. It seems like it could be a very busy area, but it was surprisingly quiet. I got checked in by a lovely gentleman, very chatty, smiley, and polite. I was made to feel very welcome. We nipped in for drinks the next day and the young lady behind the bar was chatty and lovely. It's a very nice place and area to stay.
The hand soap dispensers in the room. I really struggled with it. Quite often I missed my hand and it landed on the wooded top. I just found it very awkward to use and to reach over the sink to get.

Friendly cleaning staff who were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms were spotless and visited every day by staff and freshened, the breakfasts were very good and cooked to order, plenty of choice and reasonably priced
The hotel door was not secure at night time leaving my partner unsettled. when we approached the staff about the problem we were informed there was a problem with the door and spare parts were ordered, they also assured us that there was a night porter who if not in the building was watching via CCTV next door in the bar

Lovely large rooms that are very quiet and have air cooling too. Comfy bed and good shower as well. Good location for places to eat and highly recommend the Scottish restaurant on the shopping area.
Only thing that means I wouldn't give it a 10/10 is the very poor breakfast, no imagination or effort put into the buffet selection or appearance. Tea urn has been used for coffee previously and you can taste the coffee in your tea. For a non coffee drinker ruins your morning cup of tea.

Rooms perfect as normal, mattresses were on the hard side could do with a topper now for sure. And pillows needed upgrading as were showing signed of aged use.
one member of the team letting the pub element down, asked for a third cup as there were only 2 in the room - only to be shouted at that there was not enough crockery and we couldn't have one !! So we bought a coffee and took it to the room which solved that problem ... same member of staff let them down for our evening meal as well, however this was sorted with the manager who was understanding and helpful.

Room was very clean and comfortable, nice selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, it was a quick easy arrival at the reception and situated in great area with lots of food establishments and cinema all a short walk from hotel. The hotel is also well situated for easy access to city centre and to main roads to Edinburgh and other areas, would definitely recommend for a quick stopover or as a base for exploring around the area
Nothing, it was such an easy relaxed time there, I found nothing to spoil my stay

Husband enjoyed breakfast. I am a Coeliac so need gluten free food not much choice apart from fruit. No gluten free bread available so second morning I bought my own bread which the staff were happy to toast for me which was great.
Need to have a better choice for gluten free breakfast what about individual packets of cereal and gluten free bread available at least. Thought Marstons Inns were registered with Coeliac UK?

Very clean and extremely good location. Close to amenities, superstores, Starbucks etc
The ac in the room wasn’t working. I asked the manager to take a look. The ac was showing temperature of 28 and couldn’t even hear fan working. The manager switched it to fan and said it will take 30 mins to start working and cool down…. I have been staying in hotels for long time and I know how an ac works. Admit it’s not working and don’t lie would have been better. Poor customer service as he could have offered a new room and I might have politely thanked for his offer but my kids fallen asleep … but his lie that it will work in 30 mins made me really mad…..

Sincerity, I mistakenly over paid by 75 quid, and the following day I got several missed calls, I was like, what's the ish, I had to call back, and what I heard was "I'm so sorry Sir, I think you over paid, kindky come in anytime and get your refund", I was wow!! This is good. I went the following day, and I was refunded. It's a very lovely place to stay, I won't Think it twice visiting again.

the guy checking us in wasnt very knowledgeable and had to keep going finding a supervisor to help him check us in, the restaurant was shambolic at the time of our stay the day we arrived food wasnt being served as no chef, luckily we had chosen to dine elsewhere for breakfast next morning, on the 2nd night carvery choice was very limited and wouldnt have been good value so we chose to seek an alternative luckily there were plenty of choices on the com-plex
