Front of house staff excellent. Room excellent.

Waiting staff at breakfast! Tended to prefer talking to each other rather than serve & advise guests what was available for breakfast & where to get it. eg fruit juice, cereal etc. This is the only hotel where toast was not given. When we enquired was advised we should have asked for it !!!!!!

The reception staff were welcoming and made us feel very much "at home". The details concerning meals and room were explained. All the staff were courteous and very helpful. The room was spacious and very clean! Beds were comfortable. Despite the fact that the hotel was busy there was very little noise noted whilst in our room. Most impressed by the iron and ironing board which was tucked away in the spacious wardrobe, real bonus on both accounts! The evening meal was delicious and the servings were generous. The staff were attentive and even though we were quite late in arriving, due to a road accident on the motorway, we were not rushed and we were able to enjoy our meal. Breakfast was great, more than adequate choice of Continental or cooked. Once again the staff were attentive and welcoming. The food was cooked and presented perfectly. There is a car park at the front of the hotel if required. My granddaughter and I stayed one night, as a stop over, before continuing onwards with our journey. I would most definitely recommend and if I needed accommodation again would have no qualms in booking!

The access to the car park was a bit tight and not clearly marked. The car park is to the side of the main entrance, I could see the cars parked but not how to enter until my granddaughter pointed it out for me. Not enough plugs as is the norm in probably all the Hotels which I have ever stayed in!

What a beautiful hotel set in some very pretty gardens. The room was lovely too. Enormous bed, fantastic shower in a beautiful bathroom. The food was excellent, both the evening meal in the main restaurant and the breakfast which was continental buffet plus waiter service for the excellent cooked meal. Coffee was some of the best we've had in a huge cafetiere. The hotel has a charger for EVs which was free and we used it on our second night there.

No teaspoons in the bedroom just wooden stirrers but a lovely man in the restaurant let us have a spoon so all was good.

I arrived to be with friends to attend the funeral of our Chiefy of so many years ago. The hotel staff, from reception to departure understood our needs in every way. The hotel rooms--dinning, bar, private reception all exceeded my expectation. My bedroom was of a very good size with a large double bed so comfortable that, each night, I slept well beyond my normal 4 hours. The shower was in the bath which wasn't a problem for me but maybe some would prefer a 'walk in' style. I'm sure this would be available if requested. Reception were most helpful with each request and there was always a smile along with the answers. Breakfast included a wide choice from continental to kippers and beyond. I settled for a full fry up which again well exceeded any expectations I had. For myself, I don't often 'dine in', preferring instead to explore local restaurants. However this time, with friends we booked a table for both nights and all of us expressed our delight in the quality and wide choice available. A wide choice of wines too with many countries represented. As with all dinning establishments, I don't appreciate the un-called-for high mark up on wine at the table. It seems to be a practice which can take the edge off of a very pleasurable dinning experience for me. That said, I would recommend dinning in at this hotel. After dinner drinks at the bar which included a fantastic choice of malts would satisfy any pallet. I could not fault this hotel and can confidently recommend it to all. A ten out of ten for me.

The bedside clock/alarm beat my ability to set the time or alarm.

Having a problem with mobility the receptionist changed my room to ground floor which was much better than dealing with stairs. You are warmly welcomed on arrival and there is a lovely atmosphere to the hotel

The hotel is in beautiful grounds and very quiet. It is clean and comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Breakfast wasn't included in my stay I had a continental breakfast which had a good selection but I thought a bit pricey. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back

The room was comfortable and immaculate, and the staff friendly and helpful

Guests were encouraged to ask for the room not to be valeted each day, to be more 'eco-friendly'. I suspect this was a way of solving staff shortages. At any rate, it meant bins were not emptied and refreshments were not topped up, so this earned a NO from me, after trying it once. (I was happy to reuse towels). Not what you'd expect in a 3-star hotel.

Check in went very smoothly the room was ideal on the ground floor very clean large comfortable bed with great tea and coffee facilities everything required for stay away. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meals compliments to the Chef and all staff who were very professional in their duties.

There was little we didn't like apart from getting out of the comfortable bed

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms, the bistro was lovely with great food, and the staff were friendly. Was only a short walk from the bus station so fairly easy to use as a base to get into Edinburgh.

The wifi could’ve been better as it cut out a few times. The breakfast was good but continental options a bit limited, and I didn’t like that the radio was playing in the breakfast room; music would’ve been preferable.

The hotel was in a great location, a short walk to the train station for Edinburgh and a further few minutes in Dunfirmline town centre, although quite hilly. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast the following morning.

Being quite hilly there were few spaces on the level suitable to park a motorbike, maybe a suitable area could be identified and marked out.
