Top place, from the booking you will receive information via email, to keep you up to date, and they will reply to any queries. Very refreshing. From first greeting to the last farewell it was a Joy. Great welcome, very freindly. Our suitcase taken to our room, what a room! spacious, clean comfortable, coffee machine good selection of goodies. lovely shower room with great quality of bathroom products provided. You will find a lot of local information about the area. Rambling, places to visit etc. Good beer in the bar. The breakfast is not just a breakfast, it's a piece of art. Just opened and cannot fault it. Will return.

Lovely old building, beautiful location off the beaten track. Large garden area with lots of parking. There’s a lovely little bar with real log burning fires. The bed was comfy we had a private door to outside. The best thing you get KitKat for your biscuits to go with your drinks. The breakfast is amazing, really good quality and the father daughter are very friendly. The shower was incredible and refreshing.

There wasn’t anything wrong with the property. The only issue I had were other guests waking me up shouting as someone had a family issue and got locked out. I’m a light sleeper and they were banging about. That caused me some issues. But no fault of the property.

Breakfast was generous and well prepared. You could go a long time before feeling hungry for lunch. This was served by friendly staff. Loved the efficient shower unit and soft fluffy towels. I would give the bed a 5 star rating. I liked the fact that there were facilities to make tea and coffee in the room.

It was a little cold in the room on the first day but the whole country was experiencing an unusually cold June. The other two nights were fine. I would’ve loved it if they did evening meals which I learned they’re going to start next month.

The most enjoyable and perfect cottage that we have ever stayed in. The hosts were wonderful, the premises were pristine, historic and very comfortable, and the food and drinks were spot on. It was in a quiet village and easy to find and access. Everything was perfect and that is a rarity. We had dinner the night before at their sister hotel and restaurant. It was more lively, which was nice and the food was a nice farm to table experience.

We should have stayed longer.

From the first telephone conversation making arrangements for a late check out to our goodbyes at the end of our stay the staff could not have made us feel more welcome. A beautifully furnished inn with superb attention to detail and style and a fully equipped bedroom with direct access to the garden for our convenience with the dog. The evening meal was delicious with original and varied choices on the menu and a nice selection of wines. The Continental breakfast was similarly excellent. It is a very great shame that the owners have found the Inn not to be viable with the current very high energy costs and are selling their business that they have clearly worked so hard on in the last few years. Their customers can only hope they can sell to someone else who is able to take the business forward. I wish the owners and staff well for their immediate future.

Nothing to criticise.

Location is superb for Leighton Moss RSPB and Wharton Crag AONB. Also great place for a stop off from a journey on the M6 as it is only 5-10 minutes from the M6 junction. Accommodation is a very old pub on a relatively quiet country lane. Plenty of off-road parking. Lovely walks from the door and within easy walking range to the above two places for any keen walker. Food was excellent in the evening but menu was limited, although they did say that they were reviewing the menu. Room was a good size, nicely appointed, with lovely country views. Comfortable bed and excellent shower. Staff were extremely friendly. Good selection of three ales in the bar, with a good atmosphere and warm fires. Would definitely stay again.

Would have liked a little more selection at breakfast as my wife is vegetarian. Evening menu a little limited and no options within walking distance.

Very friendly welcome, including to our puppy who was welcomed with a dog bed and bowls in our room. Relaxed and homely vibe throughout- loved the combination decor. Incredibly clean and well managed. Evening meal was fantastic and eaten in the bar (with the puppy) with a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were super friendly , as if visiting family.

That we had only booked in for one night!

First impressions count and the welcome we received as we arrived at the door was genuinely warm and welcoming. The staff without exception were charming, professional and could not have been more helpful. Our cases were immediately seized and whisked upstairs to a delightful spacious room, full of old world charm but all mod cons. This is an old pub which has been extensively renovated and modernised but the owners have managed to keep the character while making it pleasantly modern and very comfortable. The location is a hidden gem, Yealand on the edge of Silverdale, one of the most beautiful areas of outstanding natural beauty to have escaped mass tourism. The food is simple but well cooked with generous helpings. There are lots of very nice little touches - fresh milk and bottled water replaced daily in a fridge in the room which is wonderfully silent; tea and coffee is complimentary through the stay. The facilities are what you would expect in a small country pub. It still has a proper bar, with some excellent local ales, which clearly attracts the locals and a number of wood burning stoves suggest this would be a very cosy place to spend the evening in the winter. Altogether super and we will be booking again soon.

Only one thing to mention for potential improvement. Breakfast was very good in terms of quality but limited. They obviously have no chef on in the morning so there is nothing cooked and while the cold meats, Yogurt, fruits etc were all delicious, after a few days it would become a bit monotonous . The odd egg would be welcome.

A welcoming atmosphere. Owners Fiona and Jane very hospitable. Room was stunning, bed was amazingly comfy. We sat in the bar area in front of the log fire with a great bottle of red. Very cosy. They don't provide evening meals but they have a sister pub down the road where the food is excellent. The breakfast was also great (lovely coffee), nothing was too much. We will definitely be back.

The staff at the new inn could not have been more welcoming to us and our two dogs. We arrived later than anticipated but we were still able to get a delicious beverage from the bar. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated and bedding and bowls had been provided for the pups which was a lovely touch. The property is not far from the motor way but feels worlds away, set in the heart of a peaceful little village.

We liked everything and wish we could have stayed for another night.
