From the moment we stepped in the hotel we felt at ease. Sally who was working on reception was amazing and upgraded us free of charge. This was greatly received after a long day at the hospital whilst our daughter had a major operation. She also arranged for the kitchen to stay open later if we needed it and we were told to just ring to let her know if we were staying later for visiting. The food was amazing, plenty of gluten free options too and the young girl in the restaurant was really attentive even though we were the last ones to eat and she was busy setting up for the breakfast service. Nothing was too much bother for her. The room was amazing and utterly luxurious - just what we needed. The guy on reception this morning was equally attentive and looked after our luggage whilst we went to the hospital again.

Absolutely nothing to complain about. We were told they were renovating but we were none the wiser and didn’t get disturbed at all .

Fantastic Central location, close to 24hr secure parking, very comfortable beds and I usually take my own pillow but forgot this time and the pillows provided were spot on 👌 breakfast is very good value for money, it may seem expensive but you can choose from the continental and get a cooked breakfast too, it was delicious, only negative it's we walked a long time for our cooked option, don't know what happened but when it was served it was perfect, 2x eggs Benedict and 1x pancakes

The room was very hot and the windows only open a tiny amount, we sorted that by un screwing the stoppers 😬 it had to be done otherwise we wouldn't of been able to stay in there, wiring from the lamp to an extension full of plugs looked a bit dodgy.

I loved the character of the Royal Kings Arms. The old worldly charm of my room and the very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a delight and I took a bath which was very relaxing after a long journey. It was just right and I will return for further stays and will certainly recommend to my family and friends.

I struggled with my large suitcase to my room on the 3rd floor, as no assistance was offered. I think it would be a good idea to have this assistance offered.

Room was very clean, facilities great. Staff very welcoming and friendly. The room we had was opposite the town centre which was very noisy when window was open. Next time we would look to have a room at the back of the property

Room opposite town centre when window was open was very noisy our fault I didn't think next time we book we would ask for a room at the back of the property apart from that everything about the hotel and room was exceptional

The rooms where in traditional british design. This decoration style was really what I was looking for while traveling, great view on the city center and great position. Breakfast super good !

Make sure to compare prices ! I called them directly and they told me a price which was much higher than the one I paid on booking ! Saved 40£ / night by reserving on booking.

Excellent location, very close to the castle and the city center. The room is spacious and the staff is kind and attentive.

The shower needs maintenance attention, because the tap does not properly allow temperature adjustment. The bedroom has a lamp only on one side of the bed and there is no possibility of changing positions.

Staff were excellent and very friendly. Location is excellent.

Banging noise from pipes right behind headboard so requested to move rooms, was no problem for the staff and they really looked after us but wasn't ideal to move rooms mid stay.

The room we were in was a bit dated but clean and tidy, and the service was excellent.

Breakfast price expensive we went out instead , drinks in bar really expensive £9.10 for a rum and coke !!!!!! , lift old unreliable and we were on third floor

It was close to the station I came by train, Close to the venue I was going to for the evening/night. And close to the shops if I was going to use them.

They didn't serve pints of Bitter at the Bar.
