Completely gorgeous pub with rooms, feels very unique and very comfortable. Lots of character and the room felt much more cosy than I was expecting. Delighted to get a bathtub! Breakfast was good value with lots of options and the staff were all so kind and helpful. I only ended up here because the rail strikes forced me to split a journey, and I actually loved my little enforced minibreak.

The hotel was very stylish, my room was huge and very luxurious. It was located a short distance from the venue we were visiting and close to several pubs and restaurants. The staff were very polite and helpful. A great range of locally brewed beers and ales available at the bar, plus the usual domestic beers. The breakfast was a varied selection, a good size, and extremely filling. £12 if booked your room through a 3rd party site, but complimentary if you booked directly with the hosts.

There was no parking available on site, but several small pay and display car parks located in the area. A problem if you have large luggage. The bathroom was an adequate size, but the heating had been set to maximum, and as a result I burnt my arm on the towel warmer.

We were blown away by the building overall, it's history, and how it has been tastefully modernised but kept so much history. The staff were brilliant. The location. The bar, the restaurant, and food - both choice and quality.

The room was a little tight for space, but sufficient for our 2 night stay. Having said that, the space was well utilised - and the shower was great. I think this was the first hotel shower cubicle I have experienced which did not leak over the floor !!

From start to finish 6 stars.The hotel is incredible inside and out.I had the best ,spoltless room,with lovely toiettries,towels,tea and coffee,TV,exceptionally comfy bed and pillows,your own adjustable hear,powerful shower.Staff member Koda was exceptional,friendly right from the start and remembered it was my birthday and asked what plans I had,how I was enjoying my stay and gave recommendations,my first time here in Lancaster and I've fallen in love with the City.

Our room was very spacious - the bed was large and very comfortable, we slept very well! And the staff were all fantastic. We also had dinner in the pub which was delicious - and the service was excellent.

The bathroom was a bit dated and could have been cleaner - it wasn't to the same high standard as the room itself.

The staff were efficient, really friendly and helpful. They would happily go above and beyond for the customers. Food and service in the bar/restaurant was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and lively. Bed was really comfortable. Would stay there again, when in Lancaster.

I wasn't so keen on all the stairs up to the room. In saying that the staff helped me with my luggage. I would probably ask for a room that wasn't at the top, for the next stay.

The room was really special. Plenty of space and high quality amenities. The staff here are really lovely and professional and the breakfast was a nice treat to round of the stay. I stay in Lancaster regularly for work but hadn’t stayed at The Sun before, however after such a good experience, it will be hard to stay anywhere else!

Room 24 was a good size, well-decorated, clean, well-equipped and ensuite. All ensuite facilties worked well and the bed was huge. There was a good view of Church Street, from the window. The hotel was old and historic, with various pieces of interesting information decorating the very charming building. Staff were kind, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. During one day of my stay, I had lunch there which was also delicious. The bar was well-stocked. The hotel was well-located, being a very short walk from the bus station and around a 10 minutes walk from The Grand Theatre. There were various places of interest nearby, including Lancaster Castle !

I’ve stayed here previously. Love the location, the long history of the building assisted by wall mounted facts in most corners, the food and the staff. Plus on this occasion I received a fab room upgrade! x

Do you know, there really isn’t anything comes to mind. The staff have the place running super smoothly and the room/facilities were lovely
