This is my 3rd stay, 2nd with my 15yr old niece. She likes the quiet & peace, with great shops & walks for evening around the hotel. She likes London city is only 20min train ride away to the huddle & bustle. Can I add if going to the 02 stay here, the bus runs from across the road to the O2 in 15mins & takes you back to hotel from outside the O2, so no need for long queues,,bus you say & yes you may be dressed up, trust me taxi isn’t reliable, bus is 👌. The Staff at this hotel are always polite, happy to help with a smile. Breakfast is great. Will be back for sure. Great find into central London but nice for quiet walks at night.

The whole experience. From the room, breakfast and again the staff. Staff literally look happy at work, no matter day or night.

Breakfast was very good, our triple single room had a lovely view of the garden and a wall fan which was brilliant to have as the weather was very hot. The room was very clean but a little dated. The bathroom was newly renovated and very clean. The majority of staff were very cheerful and helpful. Blackheath is a lovely spot with lots of cafes, restaurants and cafes to choose from and buses and a Sotheastern train station in Blackheath made getting around very easy. Greenwich is within walking distance through the heath and park, so lots of outdoor space to enjoy.

The foyer is a little dated, wifi in the room was spotty and some staff were a little lacklustre.

We really appreciated the quiet location and being close to the Thames. The room was very comfortable.Great to have a glimpse of the river Thames from our window. All we needed in the room and an excellent bathroom in particular. Hotel, was close to a wonderful old pub The Three Daws where we ent for dinner each night.

There seemed to be no-one else staying there. We realise that the hotel is going through a big change just now so realised this must be the reason. The bar and restaurant where out of action for this reason we guessed. It all felt a bit strange but didn’t really affect our enjoyment of our stay.

I have now stayed in this hotel 3 times in 2022 and have loved it each time! It has become a home away from home! My son works literally 2 minutes walk away so it is ideal for when I go to London to visit him. I love the heath being right outside the hotel and being able to walk through the heath and on through Greenwich Park. The train station is also only a few minutes walk away making it easy to go into central London. I feel very comfortable staying at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is excellent. I also love the garden in summer. I am planning on coming back in 2023 for my 60th in June and for Christmas.

The mattress on the bed could be better. This is the only thing that could be improved.

It is very difficult to find an affordable room for a wheelchair user in the Blackheath/Greenwich area at short notice. In this case the Clarendon did their best and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The guest concerned has an electric wheelchair which fitted in the lift and could access the reception area, restaurant and corridors. We were also provided with a stool for the shower so that our wheelchair user was able to sit whilst having a shower. This was very important as the hotel does not have a fully accessible room with grab bars etc. in the bathroom. All in all the staff accommodated a disabled guest as well as they could in an older building that is not designed for a wheelchair user. The breakfast was also good.

Unfortunately the width of the wheelchair was slightly too wide for the doors to the rooms which were only 70cm. Fortunately the person concerned is able to get out and walk very short distances with help and the wheelchair is foldable so she was able to access and use the room and ensuite shower room.

We have stayed in this hotel loads of times, as it is five minutes walk from Blackheath Train Station, making it a good option if you are staying in London for the weekend. We were seeing a show in London, so this hotel was much cheaper than staying in the West End. The rooms are comfortable and there is a lots of choice for breakfast in the morning. The staff are all friendly. There is a car park, however getting a space in it is a bit hit and miss. Room 235 had a walk-in wardrobe and lots of hangers.

The parking in this hotel is very hit and miss. If the spaces were marked out, it would stop people parking their cars badly. This weekend we were in room 235. A lovely room, however the bathroom was rather odd. The bathroom mirror, instead of being in front of the sink, was behind the toilet, which made no sense. Photo provided.

The hotel was lovely. The staff were great. It was clean and our room was quiet. There was a fan which was much appreciated. We very much enjoyed the breakfast which had a wide variety of food to choose from. The staff managed a very busy breakfast room well. The restaurant in the evening was excellent value and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to come back. The hotel was easy to reach and there were good transport links in to London.

The shower was a bit compact! Other than that there was nothing which we didn’t like.

This is the second time I've stayed here and actually this felt even better than the last! The staff were kind and helpful, the breakfast was excellent and my room was comfy! I hope to stay here again and again! Even if the hotel is far from central London you can catch a train from Blackheath Station that takes you straight to Charring Cross in 25mins! Very easy and to go back, at a more leisurely pace there is the River boat from Embankment to Greenwich pier or a number of buses, so really, the distance from the center is not an issue but an advantage, also because Greenwich village is so pretty to explore!

We stayed here for one night and the staff were great, happy to help and put me in a downstairs room due to my back problem. Great location for the 02.... Should their be no trains or taxis then take the 108 bus from the 02,this drops you by the pub alongside the hotel. Food was excellent...service was great on the resturant too. My accomodation was great value for money which included a full english for £159 for 2 of us...!! The only negative to my visit was the fact that i phoned to ask if they could reserve a disabled parking space due to my back issue and a blue badge holder, only to get their and find the 1 space out the 1 space of 2 had a car in it with no disabled badge.....so annoying!!!! Overall a good night stay if not for parking issue . Mrs Christine Keith Stay...1 night 29th July 23.

Lack of disabled parking space....!!!

I love The Clarendon Hotel! This was our third stay. I think Blackheath is a charming, village-like place in the green oasis of the heath. This is a classic British hotel which has understated class. We sampled the restaurant for the first time and enjoyed a Sunday carvery with live piano accompaniment. The bus stop for the O2 (number 108) is directly opposite so it is so convenient.

The curtains didn’t quite fit the window in our room (and the old metal framed window wasn’t closed fully so the winter might be draughty!). I wear an eye mask, luckily, but some better fitting blackout curtains would be preferable. I would love all hotels to have blackout curtains, actually!
