I came to London for the Coronation week and stayed in Greenwich for the first time in my many visits. If you stay here too, consider the fact that it takes 40-60 minutes and a change of trains (from DLR to Underground) to get to the city center. Of course the prices are lower (or, to be more accurate, less high; London is an expansive city, period). The Mitre is located two minutes walk from Cutty Sark Station, few minutes walk from the main tourist attractions and with a lot of shops and restaurants around. It's a tiny hotel – 21 rooms – located above a pub which you don't hear and doesn't bother you. At first I got a rather small room (although not the tiny ones you might get in London, I guess it was about 15sqm), but because of a small problem in the heating system they gave me (without me asking) a bigger one; ask for room 200. The rooms are nice, clean and well maintained, although there is almost no storage facilities. It was the first time I didn't have a closet and had to keep a big part of my staff (I came for a week and made some shoppings) in my suitcase. That's a pity, because otherwise the room was good and comfortable. They can fix it easily. Another problem was the wi-fi connection which is provided by O2. It got disconnected again and again and I was told it's a known problem with this provider (although I think that if you wait a few moments after connecting it gets better). I'm not familiar with the English cellular market but know there are other possibilities. If you need the wi-fi intensively as me, you should take that into consideration. Also, be aware of the need to have an adaptor to use electronic devises and maybe even a British cable for a laptop. The biggest advantage of the Mitre is its staff which might be the friendliest I ever met in dozens of hotels. They are worm, eager to assist and helped me a lot at Sabbath as I'm am obedient Jew.

We loved everything about The Mitre .The location is perfect for being close to the O2 Arena and the city, with numerous trains to choose from , just around the corner from the hotel. There are many restaurants in the area and great food and drink at the Mitre as well. The room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. The cleaning lady during our stay was a very friendly lady called Santi. She made sure our room was beautiful and clean with all the necessary things to make our stay comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. We will definitely go back.

We had no complaints at all. This Hotel is well managed and great value for money.

The room I booked was a good size for an individual traveller, bathroom was a little small with it a tad difficult to get in and out of the shower but not a big deal. The furnishings were really nice and good lighting. It also had a lift which is good as some older terrace still inns and hotels don’t. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were all very polite. I also found it pretty quiet in my room despite the pub downstairs. I was on one of the top floors though but overall a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s also located between Greenwich and Cutty Sark stops so also very accessible. The surrounding area is very nice, lots of nice cafes and shops as well as attractions.

I don’t think there’s anything I didn’t like, all pretty good. Greenwich itself is obviously a fair way from Heathrow and some other parts of London.

The room was clean and coffee/tea were provided. The bed was comfortable and the room seemed renovated and modern. The area around the hotel is great, full of restaurants, bars, markets, muses, parks, public transport. The pub downstairs is nice and you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner there (upon payment):vegetarian and vegan options are very good as well.

The bathroom door would not close because there was no door lock hole at all. The room is a bit small but it was not a problem for us, since it had everything we needed. People travelling with many suitcases will have an issue.

Location

Having to check-in at the pub. No instruction sheet for thermostat. Stingy on the toilet paper. Another guest on our floor knocking at her adjoining room door (which room was also adjoining our room on the opposite side). She was knocking loudly and persistently on the door to wake up the occupant of the room who was snoring loudly and who's TV was on loud and keeping her from sleeping. We did not hear the snoring or the TV from our side of his room as she did on the other side of his room. Her persistent knocking was disrupting the quiet enjoyment of our room and our sleep.

We love everything about The Mitre. It is very conveniently near train stations - Railway and DLR . We stayed there twice and on both occasions the rooms were clean and spacious. The restaurant is really nice and breakfast is served in the morning. The hotel is walking distance from lots of tourist attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend this property but take note to book well in advance as they are very popular!

We couldn't fault anything.

The location of the hotel was great for shops, restaurants the tube and tourist attractions but was not too close to be impacted by traffic noise etc. The room decor was great and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast for great. I did not get the chance to eat at the hotel other than for breakfast as I had plans the night before in Central London. I stay at the hotel again without question.

Nothing really. The man who checked us in was not unpleasant but he was not particularly friendly and both myself and my friend picked up on this. That would be my only critisism but I could be being unfair to the chap.

Friendly and efficient check-in. Room was contemporary and cosy with a large TV, hospitality tray and a lovely comfy bed. Bright modern and clean bathroom with a good dual-head shower and nice soap/shampoo from Scottish Fine Soaps. Great to have good heating and air conditioning as well, plus the secondary glazing to exclude most of the traffic noise (it's on a main road) was very welcome. Excellent location in the heart of Greenwich village, about halfway between the DLR and main railway station and just 5 mins from the park. Very good range of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby, plus Greenwich Market.

A few things in the room need some maintenance attention (bedside lamp, radiator, door fittings) but all fairly minor.

The room was nicely decorated, good linen, good bathroom, the aircon was great!

The door wasnt a tight fit so when other guests were opening doors it banged which woke me up quite a bit. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door, I guess just an oversight of housekeeping, not the end of the world. The shower was great but the shower tray doesn't slope the right way, it made for very high octane almost bathroom flooding showers! They are just a couple of small details that would have made it perfect.

Excellent location close to restaurants and DLR. Room was very clean. Did not have the breakfast so can’t comment. We had dinner a couple of nights in the pub which was very nice.

Stairs were precarious- spiral and steep. Felt unsafe going down them. Luckily apart from a brief period, the lift was working meaning we only had to use the stairs on one occasion. We were there for a week - seating in the room would have been nice and also some drawers for storage.
