The location of the hotel was ideal for sightseeing. Especially for locations like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and Parliament. Friendly stuff and decent breakfast.

The room was a bit dated. The damp was taking its toll especially around the window frames. Also, the room was a bit dark.

A true gem of a hotel. One of the very few 10 scored I will ever give. Fantastic location. Impeccable facilities - squeaky clean, charming old style with all modern amenities, fantastic pub downstairs with excellent food and decent prices, great breakfast, and location, location, location. 5 minutes from the Big Ben, yet in a quiet side street with no noise or crowds of tourists. Plenty of dining options within a 5-minute walk.

Everything was perfect. There is nothing I would change about this hotel. I am truly in love. Of course everyone likes to save money - this probably isn't the hotel to save money at, but it is worth every penny.

The room was really nicely decorated and well furnished, the coffee machine and general fixtures were great. The room was exceptionally clean and I'm picky about that! The little fridge with water and fresh milk is a great thought, simple things that make a difference. Beds and bedding were comfortable and clean

The breakfast selection was great, unfortunately the cooked breakfast was only OK. The TV in the bedroom was a bit small for the room unfortunately. The noise from the early morning delivery trucks outside was a bit much in the early morning, maybe a little more soundproofing on windows. Despite that there was absolutely no noise at all from the bar in full swing downstairs, so all in all it was good.

The location of this Hotel is fantastic! It is right by the tube, so easy to reach from Heathrow and only a short walk from the station to the hotel for those travelling with luggage. Walk in the opposite direction and you are at Westminster abbey and The Houses of Parliament - walk at a right angle and you are on Birdcage walk - then it's only a short stroll to Buckingham Palace, The Mall, Trafalgar Sq. and/or many other places of interest. The room was small but beautifully furnished, bed comfortable, water hot etc. The breakfast was nice and the staff in the restaurant were especially helpful. The food was good but be warned the portions are enormous - we could have easily shared the Sunday roast.

I accidentally (obviously) left a folder of documents in the room - these would have been found during cleaning on the Monday. It was only when I packed again to leave for the airport on Wednesday that I discovered them missing - fortunately I was able to make the round trip to retrieve them BUT it would have been very easy for the hotel to have sent me an email saying they had been found. As the top document was from HMRC, I feel disappointed that no effort was made to alert me to their loss - it would only have taken a minute to send me an email. That said, the hotel responded quickly to my emails on the Wednesday and I was able to get them back.

Sanctuary House is located very close to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Churchill War Rooms, the London Eye and a Hop on Hop Off Bus stop. It’s also a short stroll across nearby St. James Park to Buckingham Palace. Thus, the location can’t be beat! It’s attached to a nice pub which serves good dinners and breakfasts, the staff is very friendly and helpful and they even have a “Magic button” that calls cabs for you!

The rooms aren’t spacious and storage space is lacking. The desk was fairly useless and should’ve been replaced with a dresser.

Excellent location as a jumping off point to all of the areas of interest we wanted to visit: West End/Picadilly for theatre, Covent Garden, Westminster, Royal Albert Hall. Two tube stations within easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and the room was spacious by European standards. I enjoyed the breakfast: assorted options to select from on the continental breakfast and one hot option off the menu was included. Generous amenities in the rooms: coffee and kettle with biscuits and pods.

The bed was a bit too firm for my preference. And the lighting in restroom was too dim for applying make-up. I did appreciate that they had a small magnified make-up mirror that I could take to the window to get better lighting.

Loved the location! Close to Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, Big Ben, London Eye & bus pick up for out of town day tours (The English Bus). Also liked having breakfast included in the pub downstairs. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

We lived out of our suitcases on the floor because there really wasn’t enough room to hang things up and put clothes away. The bath/shower needs safety bars on the walls- climbing in and out didn’t feel safe and we had to move slowly and carefully to not slip and fall. My husband didn’t like the dark colours.

location is excellent. you can see Westminster Abbey and Big Ben just a couple of blocks away. Buckingham Palace and St James Park are close in the other direction. Hotel is next to the st James Park Tube station. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, especially Karen at check in. The room seemed brand new. we were spoiled with the towel heaters, daily water, tea and hot chocolate in our room. the breakfast downstairs was great with a buffet yogurt and bread bar with a hot prepared menu choice daily. The eggs Benedict were amazing as well as our other choices. Our next hotel in Luxembourg did not have half the extra comforts we found in our Sanctuary room. We would highly recommend the Sanctuary.

The location is excellent. The hotel is in a safe area within walking distance to many nearby attractions. Rooms, hallways and public areas were very clean. The breakfast option was certainly worth the additional price as it offered an amazing selection and having a pub right downstairs made it all the better!

No major objections but between the dark ceramic tile and the style of overhead lighting the bathrooms seemed a bit dark.

Great location - close enough to walk to most major attractions including the Theatres. But in a quieter location for a good nights sleep. next to a tube stop and plenty of places to get refreshments on the doorstep…..including the pub downstairs. Nice welcome and plenty of tea, coffee, milk, water and biscuits provided. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast included was plentiful and well cooked. For central London overall good value.

The water pipes are a bit noisy and could hear running water constantly and until quite late…..it seemed like every time anyone in the whole place flushed a toilet, we could hear water cisterns filling. eventually went quiet and once asleep wasn’t loud enough to wake up or I zoned it out.
