The hotel is beautiful, situated in an ideal position to visit central London’s main attractions. Cleanliness and courtesy are hallmarks of the hotel. Breakfast was marvellous, plenty of options and the breakfast staff was extremely attentive even to food allergies. A special thank you goes to Rika who took care of us on our arrival and to Flavia who took care of us in the spa! Thumbs up to all! The atmosphere found in the room before bedtime was very very appreciated!

Trying hard to think of something…

The location is unbeatable, at the very heart of London and yet relatively quiet. The rooms have excellent noise insulation and we were not bothered at all during the night. The staff was super friendly and attended to all our needs. The restaurant in the hotel, Wild Honey, is something special that has to be experienced. Many other outstanding restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I would highly recommend Aquavit.

If I have to pick a couple of things that could be improved at this level of service (and price) I would say the refillable bottles in the bathroom are not really designed to be refilled, so when the hotel does that, after a few refills the pump eventually breaks down. It is a small thing, of course, but annoying. My other recommendation would be to provide more bottled water in the rooms when the temperature outside goes above 25 Celsius, which I know is rare for London, but it did happen in our case.

Sofitel St James has class! The building is an old bank and it is grand and impressive. The location is fabulous! Walking distance from Trafalgar square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace. Our room was spacious (deluxe king). The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp sheets. We enjoyed using the bar and sitting in the lobby area which provides water and a secret safe of chocolates for the kids.

The view was of brick building and offices but it is in central London so was not expecting much of a view.

Our hotel of choice, when staying in central London. So close to St James Park (squirrel cuteness overload!), to the Mall, to Buckingham Palace, to the theatres, to Piccadilly, Oxford, Regent Street, to Trafalgar, the shops, museums... It's very practical. The staff is very efficient and courteous, and our room was very comfortable (we would have preferred a bathtub, though). The breakfast menu is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We never tried the afternoon tea because we had other plans. Highly recommended and we'll be back in December for some more theatre-time and to enjoy the Christmas decorations.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Artistic room design, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, great services, quiet rooms, and amazing food--fabulous afternoon tea and exceptionally good quality room service fare. The hotel feels so insulated from street noise that I hadn't even been aware that a marathon was taking place on Pall Mall until leaving the hotel and finding crowds of people on the street! The central location near National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, St. James Park, Theater District, shopping, riverfront (Embankment) made this the ideal hotel for our stay. We loved the flower arrangements in the lobby and the attention paid to every detail. The staff were friendly and accomodating.

The room's light switches were a little confusing, while we were given a demonstration when first checking in, we later couldn't remember how to bypass the "master" switch that turned off every light at once.

Walking distance Location to West End theatres Can’t fault the Location of the Hotel Perfect base for two nights at the West End Checkin was smooth, however we arrived at 1pm and room not ready until 3pm as per expected Was promised a phone call while we went out exploring but it never came At checkin we signed up to the £35 breakfast at the hotel Very nice, great staff service and tasty food from menu and buffet if still feeling hungry. Excellent coffee At 8am breakfast I refused the first table as the server was trying to shoehorn us in between two other couples So I asked for more privacy and she ushered us to another table without delay The first floor studio suite was very clean and had great soundproofing with windows overlooking the street scene The mini bar was well stocked but the English tea was very weak and was not replenished I didn’t see an ice bucket or machines anywhere I think the mineral water was complimentary but the large one was not replenished so not sure if that will appear on the bill later Diptyque products in bathroom were another level The gym was compact but functional, a bit dated on some of the equipment and lacking basic stretching bands or foam rollers Hotel was very clean and staff excellent, I liked the text message service with the front desk In review Excellent overall, some minor improvements needed based on price paid. I would definitely consider going back

minor irritations, mineral water milk and tea not replenished. Mini bar prices hidden in draw

We loved the service waitresses girls and the hostesses. The Brazilian lady she’s an absolute great asset to this hotel. The New Zealand cute girl she is just so sweet and kind. Also I have to mention the Macedonian girls she is lovely and a very beautiful smile all of this girls great attitude. Their manager(Robertino) need to learn from this girls.

Breakfast service manager I approached him to tell him carrot juice was finished and I would like to have some more. The guy didn’t acknowledge me or look at me he just move his head up and down with a really cocky attitude. Waking around the restaurant not smile. My wife said hello to him ye guy kept walking like his the king of England his name is Robertino. Teach him some manners, kindness and teach him to smile.

Location excellent ,bed very comfortable , staff friendly and efficient, and very smart, food excellent. Room facilities excellent. Room service brilliant served by very efficient and friendly staff. Concierge excellent.

Breakfast options not explained. Buffet choices not pointed out had to ask, noticed people eating things not on a la carte menu. Several things misleading, like service charge added to room service food and not mentioned on menu. Also snacks left in room not sure whether they where complimentary or not, no price on them, unlike mini bar.

For tourists this has to be THE best location. I was there to treat friends to dinner to celebrate my birthday - unfortunately there was no evening restaurant facilities on the Monday or Tuesday so I had to settle with the Wednesday. The Michelin star Wild Honey restaurant is nicely appointed, but unfortunately the serving staff were new to the job and so the service caused quite a few embarrassments felt by me - I hoped my friends were not too aware.

Really the only thing was lack of a evening restaurant. The St James bar within the hotel is only for snacks so you have to be prepared to venture out and look, which on my own I don’t appreciate.
