Really clean, great location. Easy check-in with friendly staff. Everything ready in the room on arrival.

The room was pretty incredibly hot. There were two fans and it still wasn’t enough to combat just how hot it was.

Amazing location!! I watched a lot of West End shows and it’s about a 20-25 minute walk from the hostel, but it’s definitely worth it. Comfy beds, and lots of self catering facilities so you can cook your own food which was really convenient. Most of my roommates were friendly and the staff were also super nice and helpful.

There was no aircon and the whole building hasn’t got very good airflow so even with the fans provided it was still very hot and sweaty even though it was cooler outside. The YHA Kabannas was much cooler even though I stayed on a higher floor, so it might just be due to the amount of people/location of the building.

Pros: - Close proximity to the city center and vibrant neighborhoods like Soho. - Conveniently located near a metro station. - Option to book a private bedroom and private restroom. - Option to book a towel for the whole stay at a cheap price. Convenient to save space in the luggage. It would be nice to have it included in the room booking, but I understand it helps reducing costs. - Free tap water refill at the lobby - The place felt secure. - Friendly staff

Cons: - The room felt like an oven, especially when all four of us were there simultaneously. Although this was likely due to the unusual London climate during my stay (28-33°C), the air circulation in the room was not great. While a fan was provided to help mitigate the heat, it was too loud (52 dB at its lowest setting), making it difficult to sleep. This left us with a tough choice: either endure the heat or try to get used to the noise. - The floor under the beds could have been cleaned better, as there was a significant amount of dust.

Great location and only a bit more expensive than a lot of other hostels that are much less central. I absolutely loved the neighbourhood as well, despite being near touristy areas it was actually so quiet and the streets are beautiful with many little cafes and restaurants to check out. I found the bed to be comfy and there was a big fan in the room which was helpful with the heat. Everything was very clean here too. If you have to leave your luggage before check in/after check out they have a communal luggage room you can use which is great!

There were only really a couple small detail things. There aren’t any lockers in the rooms big enough for your bag, only tiny boxes (could fit only small electronics like a camera) that you can lock if you bring a padlock. I had to just leave my iPad in my bag under the bed which was fine but just not ideal. This hostel also didn’t strike me as being particularly social but I was only there for a couple nights so I may not have known about possible group outings etc.

The staff was amazing. After the first night I asked to switch rooms because a guy was snoring like a truck and it was impossible to sleep and the receptionist checked and found a different room for me. Five minutes and it was done. They where all great and super helpful with everything I needed! The kitchen was great, the rooms were clean and the hostel is close to everywhere big in central London. had a good stay that was elevated by the staff's can do attitude and good will. Highly recommend! Thank you!

There's one elevator for the entire building which is annoying honestly but it's no one's fault and I have a lower back problem and the mattress was just too thin. Nothing to bother over or a deal breaker for me.

Good location to use as a base, comfortable bed, staff were helpful. Liked the under bed storage (bring your own padlock). There is one small lift so factor in the time you may have to wait for it during busy times.

Air con units are needed. The temperature in the room was 31 degrees during the night yet outside it was about 15. We had the window open and fans on all the time to try and cool it down, I didn't sleep very much at all during my stay due to the heat and the noise of the fans. Our room wasn't even full the second night I stayed but it still hit an unbearable 31 degrees . Normally I'd stay again as everything else about my stay was good but the heat means it would only be if I couldn't stay somewhere else.

The reception staff was friendly and helpful, contributing to a pleasant check-in experience. The hostel itself was well-maintained and clean, creating a comfortable environment for guests. The room provided was satisfactory, offering adequate amenities and space for a pleasant stay. The location near Oxford Circus was convenient, providing easy access to shopping and dining options.

Unfortunately, the bathroom lacked shampoo, which was a minor inconvenience. Additionally, curtains for privacy would have been a welcome addition to the room. The breakfast, while decent with options like croissants and mini chocolate croissants, was not included in the room rate, costing £5.95 extra. Similarly, towels were not provided without an additional fee.

I could not be more grateful for YHA London Central and its team! I studied abroad in London earlier this year and had left for about a month to do some traveling. I was set to stay with a friend but decided to come back a day earlier than planned & they were out in holiday so I booked a one night stay at a different hostel. I couldn’t even spend the night there as everything about the description was off. I did a quick online search to see if there was anything open near my previous accommodation and found YHA! The staff was incredibly friendly, everything was clean, great vibes and very modern. They also had an unlimited breakfast option for about £5.40 which was great for a cheap breakfast on a budget! Good wifi, great lobby, honestly saved my entire night!! Very very grateful to have found them!

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm and it was unbelievably quiet and great for a rest. The staff is there all day and night and the interaction with them is easy. The location really is over the top and at a convenient price. Wifi worked well. The bathrooms were pretty clean considering how busy the hostel is and how many people share them. They get cleaned pretty often and you can see that yourself. The kitchen is fully equipped, you can cook anything during your stay. Why people complain about transportation in the area is really beyond me. The subway is less than 10 min away, if you need it. You can honestly walk everywhere from the hostel.

Insuficient shared bathrooms. I cannot imagine what it must be like in summer when everyone wants to shower and there are just 2 per floor. The kitchen furniture is used and dirty. That might go unnoticed elsewhere but in the kitchen, where people eat? It needs to be cleaned or changed soon. Breakfast is expensive for what it is, definitely needs more diversity. Dorms are a bit crowded. 8 beds were plenty for such a small room.

We were a group of 2 adults and 3 children. We booked a 6 person room with private shower/ bathroom. It was perfect for us- great location, comfortable, and enough space for us and our luggage. The lobby was so welcoming- a fun place to hang out, relax, and make new friends. They had food nightly until 8pm, and a bar with coffee and other beverages. Breakfast was limited but inexpensive and filled our bellies. We really had a great stay!

Although the window was cracked and there were two fans in the room, it was still a bit stuffy.
