Good location to use as a base, comfortable bed, staff were helpful. Liked the under bed storage (bring your own padlock). There is one small lift so factor in the time you may have to wait for it during busy times.

Air con units are needed. The temperature in the room was 31 degrees during the night yet outside it was about 15. We had the window open and fans on all the time to try and cool it down, I didn't sleep very much at all during my stay due to the heat and the noise of the fans. Our room wasn't even full the second night I stayed but it still hit an unbearable 31 degrees . Normally I'd stay again as everything else about my stay was good but the heat means it would only be if I couldn't stay somewhere else.

The reception staff was friendly and helpful, contributing to a pleasant check-in experience. The hostel itself was well-maintained and clean, creating a comfortable environment for guests. The room provided was satisfactory, offering adequate amenities and space for a pleasant stay. The location near Oxford Circus was convenient, providing easy access to shopping and dining options.

Unfortunately, the bathroom lacked shampoo, which was a minor inconvenience. Additionally, curtains for privacy would have been a welcome addition to the room. The breakfast, while decent with options like croissants and mini chocolate croissants, was not included in the room rate, costing £5.95 extra. Similarly, towels were not provided without an additional fee.

I could not be more grateful for YHA London Central and its team! I studied abroad in London earlier this year and had left for about a month to do some traveling. I was set to stay with a friend but decided to come back a day earlier than planned & they were out in holiday so I booked a one night stay at a different hostel. I couldn’t even spend the night there as everything about the description was off. I did a quick online search to see if there was anything open near my previous accommodation and found YHA! The staff was incredibly friendly, everything was clean, great vibes and very modern. They also had an unlimited breakfast option for about £5.40 which was great for a cheap breakfast on a budget! Good wifi, great lobby, honestly saved my entire night!! Very very grateful to have found them!

I stayed in an 8 bed dorm and it was unbelievably quiet and great for a rest. The staff is there all day and night and the interaction with them is easy. The location really is over the top and at a convenient price. Wifi worked well. The bathrooms were pretty clean considering how busy the hostel is and how many people share them. They get cleaned pretty often and you can see that yourself. The kitchen is fully equipped, you can cook anything during your stay. Why people complain about transportation in the area is really beyond me. The subway is less than 10 min away, if you need it. You can honestly walk everywhere from the hostel.

Insuficient shared bathrooms. I cannot imagine what it must be like in summer when everyone wants to shower and there are just 2 per floor. The kitchen furniture is used and dirty. That might go unnoticed elsewhere but in the kitchen, where people eat? It needs to be cleaned or changed soon. Breakfast is expensive for what it is, definitely needs more diversity. Dorms are a bit crowded. 8 beds were plenty for such a small room.

First of all, the room and whole building were confortable, well maintained and clean. The 4 beds room was perfect for 3, the private bathroom large enough and sufficient. The sound proofing and temperature of the room were also quite good. The self catering kitchen is a great element of this hostel, with a lot of space and well enough cooking equipment for everyone we saw there in the mornings and the evenings! The staff was super welcoming and helpful, it was great chatting with them about London and things to do around there, and they were always here to help with anything. They even allowed us to keep our luggage in the luggage room on the day we checked out so we could enjoy our last day in London without carrying our luggage around, and booked a taxi for us on our way back to the station! The location of this YHA is perfect for a visit of all the classic great places in the center of London, with a 20 minutes walk to the British Museum, 25 to Covent Garden and very close to the district of Westminster! That was an amazing place to stay, and we’ll be more than happy to come again!

Really nothing bad to say!

Hostel was excellent. Staff so welcoming I was surprised when I arrived. Ive been to other hostels and they were not friendly. The girl at reception told me about facilities and breakfast etc. I was in a room with four bunks so it was not crowded. There was ensuite bathroom which was nice and even had soap in it. Room was spotless. Had hangers and shelves for your bags. Beds are so comfortable. Hostel so clean and relaxing which is surprising for a hostel. You can get wifi in rooms and anywhere (in YHA St. Paul's wifi only works in reception). There is a shelf beside bed for your phone to charge. I had continental breakfast which was good quality and surprisingly good coffee. Highly recommend. Reception open 24hrs

Hostel is impossible to find. Everytime I went out I would spend hours walking round trying to find it even though google maps would say its only 18 minutes from west end etc. This meant it was really stressful every time I tried to find my way back- its not on street maps. Bunks lack curtains so when you come back at night you cannot see anything to get into bed cause you cannot turn on light.

Cleanliness and comfort, overall service. Excellent location, safety.. The staff were very nice to me.

I think hostels in general should have some policy for switching on the lights at night. The other guests (with whom I was sharing the room) were coming inside even after midnight and kept switching on the lights. They even ignored my request to switch them off. I don't mind people coming inside and quietly preparing to sleep, but the lamps were extremely disturbing. It's just peak ignorance, the main principle should be being considerate. I needed to get at least a few hours of sleep and I just couldn't because of the other guests being reckless... Even the small lamps at the beds just fill the room with light and the beds don't have curtains so it's very annoying.

The staff was super friendly all the time. The room and the common areas were cleaned every day. The location is perfect to wlak to different places in London like the British Museum and the National Galleria. The kitchen was spacious and it had microwave, dishes, cutlery and a hot plate.

Nothing against the hostel. The only inconvenient was a guy that snored too loudly that all the guys in room could not sleep. Also, there was a room with a group of friends that arrived late-night knocking on doors and shouting. I think people need to be cognizant that they are sharing spaces.

Definitely very affordable, perfect location, friendly staff.

I was a solo traveler mixed with a whole group of friends. It was unpleasant for me and I'm sure for them as well as I'm sort of preventing them to enjoy themselves (instead of them just express themselves freely) and at the same time was really inconvenient for me as they can be so loud but I do really understand. I just hope next time a single traveler won't be mixed with a group though I know it's unavoidable at times. Overall I survived the night with just few hours sleep.

Staff friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean, and regular cleaning going on all the time. Had read plenty of reviews mentioning the noise, bedside lights not working etc, but I had a great experience. Everything was clean and in good working order. I was pleased to see a book exchange at reception, and suggestions for visits and activities in London. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and everywhere was quiet. I stayed only one night and had minimal personal belongings, so storage not an issue. I got a room with a window, as requested, and didn’t even have to strip my bed on checkout day! Very impressed by the whole experience thank you.

Nothing comes to mind. I stayed only 1 night, and in February, and everything was so clean. There were no queues for the showers or toilets in the corridor, and anyway there was a shower and toilet for the 5 of us in a 6 bedded dorm, which we could make use of. No bad experiences. One tiny thing- the sinks in the toilets are very narrow, and if they also have a glass shelf on top of the sink, it’s quite an art to clean your teeth!
