Can't fault the location, practically on the beach..superb! Staff were lovely, friendly and polite! Room and bathroom were bigger than expected! Bed was huge and very comfortable! Breakfast choice was very good! Plenty of different cereals to choose from! Good choice of juices! Nice fruit bowl!

Cooked breakfast was a bit strange! Hash browns and beans were good! 'Fried' eggs looked like they were baked in the oven, in perfectly round pudding trays! Over done and so a bit rubbery on occasions! Mushrooms didn't seem cooked properly, looked like they were also baked in the oven! Sausages??? Well, at first I thought they were vegetarian but no, think they were meat! They 'looked' ok, but when you cut into them or taste them, the inside was just mush! Shame, as throughly enjoyed our stay otherwise and would definitely stay again!

Location is great as a centre for all the surrounding places to visit, Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast which was included in the price was lovely, we have stayed here before in different rooms and will come back

We were on the second floor and there is no lift so had to struggle up the stairs. Our stay was four nights and the room was very small, with just a single draw and 7 hangers in a small open wardrobe for two of us, So had to live out of our bags.I appreciate maybe we booked a bit late. Unfortunately the noise from the nesting seagulls can be annoying.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here whilst up visiting friends, we ate in the restaurant and the food was pretty good. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was a buffet style breakfast and was well presented and cooked well.

Our room was warm and clean, however, the room is needing an upgrade, decor was a bit patchy in places in both the bathroom and bedroom. I think my last review about the same hotel i made the same comment about the rom needing upgraded and this was a different room to the last I stayed in. The handbasin in the bathroom was cracked and there was no bath mat to prevent slipping in the bath, I don't class myself as too old and infirm yet and I'm still mobile enough to take care but i could see someone with mobility issues slipping in the bath while showering and getting in and out of the bath. Seagulls on the roof of the hotel (outside our window) unfortunately woke us very early.

Staff went out of their way to change my room to lower level as there is no lift and I struggle with stairs. Everywhere was spotless, friendly staff and delicious food served in a room with a view. I was able to return late without disturbing anyone as room key opens the front door. Everyone was so friendly. Can not wait to return.

Nothing the hotel can do about it but too many yellow lines and parking out front is limited. I did manage to park along the front a bit thanks to a member of staff guiding me at dinner time. Felt a safe place to be walking back to hotel on my own in early hours.

Good location, 5 mins walk from centre. Our sea view was wonderful. Spacious, well- heated room, really comfy bed. Lots of space to put your stuff. Shower lovely and warm. Buffet breakfast delicious, especially the sausages. Friendly staff. Overall, a great experience, great value for money. Lovely wee town too- if accommodation options in Elgin aren't floating your boat, give this place a shot. We could have stayed all week.

There was a fair amount of bird poo on the bathroom window. Bizarrely, there was no cold water in the room. Both bath and sink had cold taps, but the merest trickle came out and you certainly couldn't brush your teeth or take an aspirin with it. Fortunately, the hot water wasn't too hot, but we just found it a bit weird and it must be expensive for the hotel.

Breakfast food replenished regularly so always fresh. Spacious dinning and breakfast area. The bedroom was a little basic but very clean. The bathroom needed upgrading as fittings were either tired or damaged. Staff very helpful, pleasant and informative.

The bathroom needed upgrading - there wasn’t a plug in the sink, the toilet was broken (a piece broken off at the rear of the bowl) and the tiles around the bath needed re-grouting as mildew was building up, probably due to the extraction fan didn’t work.

The staff are so friendly The area is perfect with excellent view The value for what you pay for is really good The food it lovely and well worth eating here And the breakfast in the morning is buffet style and is very tasty

There is nothing to dislike you just have to remember this is a old hotel with a lot of character and needs a small refurbishment but it is not horrible it is just in need of a lick of paint but nothing to grumble about

As we were visiting family in the area we only had breakfasts during our stay. They were excellent, good quality and plenty to eat. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Our room was on the small side but cosy for the two of us. Everywhere was clean (with an aroma of disinfectant) and tidy. We will return as soon as we can.

We didn't have a sea view but given the price we were not disappointed.

Breakfast good, and plentiful fresh fruit and yoghurt. And on request fresh porridge made with milk or water depending on your taste. Also fresh scrambled eggs. Lovely coffee.

No lift a bit of a problem when your getting older. Cold pastries not very good a small warming oven or hot plate would help.a nice touch would be bench sitting for the none smokers to enjoy the views to the beach and garden, not everyone is active and mobile.

Location near West beach and a nice pub and restaurant down the road for meals and drinks

No parking as there was a wedding on so we had to park on the road then move the car later very noisy in the hotel with the wedding being on would have been nice to be told when we booked but we went to the golf view hotel all afternoon and in the evening and our room was quiet and the price was good with breakfast but no black puddings or haggis on the Scottish breakfast
