The dinners were fantastic and the chef was very good. The room itself was alright and the beds were quite comfortable.

The service in the restaurant was horrible. We sat at a table with dirty plates for over half an hour, and when we called the waiters, they didn't pay attention. The bathroom was also quite uncomfortable because the door opens into the bathroom and there is only a fixed shower on the ceiling which is quite uncomfortable too.

We had a baby and because there was a wedding at the same time of our stay, they thoughtfully placed us somewhere we wouldn't be too disturbed by any noise. We found all staff to be accommodating, friendly and considerate.

There was some hair on the wall of the shower from a previous guest. We forgot to mention this at the time because everything else was great and we were made to feel so welcome.

The well trained staff were exceptional with positive and spontaneous interactions with guests, anticipating guest needs and being dynamic and helpful. The breakfast was better than most hotel fair with bespoke cooked plates. And the black pudding was the best I have had in years. The Hotel coffee too. A great experience

I was in the coachhouse and the ceilings tapered down with lower windows. After 24 I did not notice this but if felt strange for the first evening.

Night porter was so so nice, even though we arrived very late..4am.. after a delayed flight in to Edinburgh A really lovely gentleman who even offerd to make us tea. Didn't eat in hotel as we were attending a wedding and post wedding brunch. Beautiful room with 4 poster bed, very traditional. only bad thing was lack of privacy when curtains were open as both windows overlooked car park or function. Maybe frosting on the bottom pane of window could help?

shower was in the bath, a minor thing but personally prefer a separate shower

The hotel room, facilities and comfort are superb and the staff are absolutely fantastic. The restaurant is top notch with breakfasts and dinner served in an elegant dining room by friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location in town near to all amenities but quiet at night.

The hotel is well situated for walking into the town area or accessing major roads to tourist sights. There is a large free car park and we received a warm welcome on arrival. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food was exceptional, my wife has Coeliac disease and requires a Gluten Free diet and there were a range of options available to her on the main menu. There is a nice bar area where you can relax and have a few drinks.

The bed was on the softer side, personally we prefer a firmer mattress.

Great location, food, lovely staff and stunning decor throughout the hotel. This booking was supposed to be for work in September but the event was cancelled so moved the date for annual girls weekend with my best friend, I have recommended the hotel to friends and colleagues too. would definitely come back.

The toilet roll holder, not easy to access-a sheet at a time.

Large room, large bathroom, delicious evening meal at a very well run function, exceptionally good cooked breakfast.

Poor lighting in bathroom and no shaving mirror. Very difficult to see for shaving and putting on make up. Bed was too small - looked like it wasn't a full size double bed.

Staff were very polite and helpful. Food was lovely

Room in need of a bit of redecoration, paper starting to peel and some mould on windows. Other than that it was very clean and tidy.
