Everything was great, lovely staff, it ticked all the boxes.

I really feel that dogs should not be allowed in the restaurant. Why can’t people leave their dogs in their dogs in their rooms. Rather than subject us all to them being present during dinner. Or perhaps you could section off an area for people with dogs. For us it’s a deal breaker, dogs do not belong in restaurants.

The location was stunning. Bed and room comfortable. The food and service was great. The option to just book the room without breakfast was perfect for me. The house keeping staff were fabulous and went above and beyond to help me, it was very much appreciated!

The lovely bathroom products you provided were frustratingly difficult to access if you were actually having a bath. They are far too high up and are locked in so can't move them nearer. I have mobility issues and got quite a few bruises trying to access these, as I only realised the problem once I had put my own stuff away (having seen how lovely yours looked) and got in the bath! I would also suggest a few more grab rails in the bath and shower please!

Lovely big room overlooking the river and very nice bathroom with an excellent shower. Beautiful big grounds with river, lots of different gardens to explore, and many seating areas to sit and eat/drink both inside and outside. Interesting building with lots of nooks and crannies. It was delightful to watch the birds on the feeder from our balcony. Breakfast very good, with continental buffet and cooked breakfast menu. Enjoyed a cream tea and delicious cocktails (Highly recommend the Berry Bramble!). Very nice, friendly, and helpful staff.

The table and chairs on our room's balcony were a bit dirty, so would be good to check/clean those more often. Tables weren't cleared quickly after guests leave. Just minor details - overall excellent.

Stayed in the King Suite - The Miller's Room which included bedroom, through double doors to an amazing ensuite with a superb free standing contemporary design oval bath for me to luxuriate in and a walk-in shower which was perfect for my husband, plus double basins!!! there was also a dressing area/ walk through to our own private sitting room/ diner with mini fridge. Breakfast was delicious as was our evening meal and the jugs of home made lemonade with lots of ice to refresh us in the heatwave between cocktails all al-fresco at the riverside location with secret gardens to explore with surprising sculptures at every turn.

Wished we'd stayed for longer!

Beautiful gardens. Very relaxing environment. The staff were lovely.

I had read some reviews that said the food was poor. I didn't want to take a chance our evening meal wouldn't be upto par. We went out for dinner. We did have breakfast. Which was awful. My husband had the full English. His fried eggs were burnt around the edges and undercooked in the centre ,the white was 'snotty' his words. The bacon was rubbery. He left the majority of the cooked breakfast and chose to get himself a bowl of cereal. No sugar available except cubes. I did notice another couple send their food back. We didn't complain. I'm sure if we had the staff would have done everything in their power to make it better, but I did not believe they would be able to. The food is the only negative I have.

Wonderful location beside a millpond with lovely areas to walk and sit in the grounds which were very extensive. Food excellent- evening meal and breakfast.Inside interesting with many different areas to sit and relax. Wanted somewhere to stay quiet and relaxing and it ticked all the boxes

No fridge in room although the staff did keep our picnic bag cool in their fridge and froze our freezer blocks for us. Beautiful extensive grounds but unfortunately many of the seats covered with bird droppings and had not been cleaned.

It was a lovely couple of days, our room was comfortable, because the weather was warm and sunny, it was ideal to have outdoor facilities for eating and drinking. For us, this was one of your best features, we could have been in France.

There was one small incident at dinner, with a rather sour female server, who obviously took offence when l questioned being given a 'flat' bottle of sparkling water. She replaced it with a bottle of still water, at which point l decided further discussion was pointless.

A very comfortable well run hotel with exceptionally friendly helpful team of staff who made our stay with our little dog amazing. The gardens of the hotel are very pretty and would be a great setting for any special occasion. and there was plenty of parking very close to front door so no need to drag cases too far. The food was outstanding with locally sourced wholesome food. The rooms were very comfortable and spotless and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities which were regularly replenished each day. We stayed at the end of October and the hotel was warm and comfortable.

There was nothing that we didn.t like as everything ticked all or our boxes for an excellent stay.

Staff were excellent , very pleasant and helpful . Effective in taking and delivering orders as requested . Breakfast was excellent with an exceptional choice , quality not just quantity. Room very clean and room service was maintained at a high level over the 4 days of the stay. Weather was hot and sunny so ideal to have plenty of outdoor as well as indoor eating areas on offer . Plenty of shade , cool by the stream and not too many flies in the evening .

Booking was over 4 days , we toured the area extensively from morning to late afternoon . The Hotel is out on its own and not wanting to do more driving we ate in every evening but considered the menu to be a little limited . Surprised not any shell fish or more than one fish dish on offer , especially considering closeness to the coast . Got excited on day two to see a fresh fish van making a delivery buy this did not follow through to the evening menu .

We were in a charming room, so a little smaller than most, but it was charming! Big enough to have an armchair. Lovely comfy bed, numerous sockets and USB, great price for a last minute booking. Didn't try any of the food, as we booked room only. Looked like a great place to eat. Would stay again.

Not much, but a small number of niggles. They've obviously been refurbishing, but the front door doesn't close. The fire into the bathroom has a really stiff handle so someone could get trapped. Lamp on the bedside didn't work, but the horror was the dust behind the TV. That's been months in the making... 😱
