Very friendly staff. The room, although compact, was comfortable and well equipped. Location was perfect for exploring the New Forest area. Being an Inn, it was great having a traditional public bar downstairs with a pretty good restaurant that served a good range of foods at good prices. Breakfast was included and plentiful. Very dog friendly too. I recommend anyone visiting New Forest to stay here.

Room was on the warm side which we were unable to control, other than by opening the windows, which made traffic noise more noticeable. Being an Inn do expect a bit of noise in the corridors as late revelers retire noisily and slightly drunk to bed at midnight.

The breakfast was amazing a good choice well presented and fresh. The eggs were so nice full of flavour. Beds were very comfortable. Little extras lots of coffee and tea choice a lovely bag of goodies in the bathroom with large bottles of soap, hand lotion shampoo and conditioner plus dog shampoo. Housekeeper was very friendly and always kept us topped up with anything we wanted. Sunday roast is highly recommended….fantastic! And dogs are allowed everywhere you go even in the restaurant. We had a great stay and will be back again and again and again. Thank you to all the staff for our much needed long weekend stay.

Our room was slightly too warm but it had been the coldest couple of days of the New year. But we managed to turn heating right down. Most people would love a warm cosy room so not really The Filly’s fault.

The whole experience at the Filly was excellent. Great atmosphere and all staff were positive and welcoming. Room was good size, great walk-in shower and comfortable bed. Had good selection of teas and coffees and all the toiletries you could ever need. We stayed for three nights and had breakfast every morning. Quality food and all cooked to perfection. Felt like being on four in a bed as we had different eggs each morning! Never disappointed, poached eggs perfect and scrambled eggs were rich and creamy. Evening meals were tasty and great quality. Cherry compote with ice cream and waffles was delicious.

Hard to find anything to say but if being really picky, and this is a very personal thing, the pillows could have been a bit softer, but it did not stop me having a really good night’s sleep

Really pleasant hotel. From a warm welcome to a farewell, the excellent front of house staff who were really courteous & helpful without being intrusive. The hotel was really welcoming from the moment you park in the car park to the time you lay your head on the very comfortable pillow. An excellent range of tea & coffee was courteously supplied in the room & the restaurant serves an excellent breakfast & evening meal, which along with the room rates are very keenly priced. I would certainly book again with them when I return to the New Forest, which hopefully will be very soon.

Nothing, it was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, both in this country & abroad.

Location was exactly where I needed it to be for my arranged trip. The room was large and very comfortable. There was some noise from the road but that was to be expected with the window being open. There was a good range of toiletries in the bathroom, and the food in the restaurant was very good.

Nothing immediately springs to mind - everything was as I expected. The refilling of the cistern was unreliable and I made sure it didn't overfill as there may have been some clean water on the floor, but it is in an old building and the pipework can be temperamental. The staff were very helpful when this occurred (before I knew what to do!)

Lovely, professional staff, fresh cookies in room on arrival, great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The overall design of the rooms and bathrooms. Excellent breakfast!

I was worried about the close proximity to a main road and traffic noise but fell asleep without any problem. However, I was woken up by a massive Biffa rubbish truck at 5am as it crunched over the gravel right outside my window, after that all I could notice was the traffic noise from the road and couldn’t get back to sleep. This was such a shame as otherwise my stay would have been perfect. It would make sense to have rubbish trucks arriving after 6am at least when you have guests staying. I was a little disappointed that food service stops at 7pm on Sundays, especially as it looked and smelt amazing!

Great location, lovely room warm and cosy, with good products and even dog shampoo. Quiet so good night's sleep. Good lunch menu.

Room.didnt have a window and for 2 nights would have preferred a window room. Service on the whole ok, but a little hit and miss at times. Breakfast good first morning, I had the full veggie breakfast second day and a little disappointed, could be wrong but think tinned mushrooms, white toast, no choice, I did think it came with sour dough? On the whole a good stay, just a few tweaks and it would be amazing.

Rooms were spotless and loved the little touches like the cookies and bag of essentials! Breakfast was amazing, loads to choose from! Plus the dinner menu was great and everything tasted fresh. Loved that it was dog friendly and our dog was made super welcome- plus some cute little dog friendly touches like treats and even some dog dinner options! Staff were super friendly and really helpful! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit the New Forest

Only negative was that the WiFi could be a little temperamental.

Brilliant staff, fantastic food, well located. We had a truly lovely time at The Filly Inn. Really happy vibe, efficient and friendly. There were some lovely touches in the room, beautiful toiletries, a fab amenity bag, homemade biscuits and a cafetière! The coffee in the restaurant was really good too. One of the staff advised us on some places to go in the area… Lymington is a must. The weather on our last day was foul so we drove to Southampton half an hour away and went shopping! We really enjoyed our stay at The Filly, thank you!!

The food at the Filly Inn was absolutely superb. Great choice and stunning presentation and taste. Our room was small but clean. The bathroom was lovely, clean and a good size shower. We have never stayed in a hotel with our dog before and were really impressed with the facilities and the fact he was allowed in all the areas - including the restaurant for dinner.

Our room had only sky lights so we lacked a view - but were more than happy as we were out and about most of the days we were there.
