Close to town, clean, somewhat impersonal but staff available when we had issues with heating & lightbulb. Breakfast a little disappointing.

No parking, instructions for entering too long & incorrect in places. Noise from other rooms a little off putting but it’s an old building which gives it its character. Modern light switches but very few actually worked. Room very cold on arrival but once we turned on the radiators it soon warmed up. Bathroom had 5 cleaning product dispensers but only 2 had contents & given the room has a lovely deep freestanding bath some products by it would have been useful.

Very conveniently located in the centre of Marlborough and dog friendly. They provide a dog bed. We were in room 3, which was a bit cramped, but perfectly fine for 2 nights. Bathroom was spacious, comfortable and convenient,with towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. They really made an effort with the breakfast in the room, considering it's non staffed, with overnight oats, fruit bowls, fresh milk, juice and water as well as some prepackaged cakes and a nespresso machine. Also very good breakfast options available in town.

Mattress was very hard, but that's very personal and some might prefer it (like my husband) and styling was peculiar, but again a matter of taste and does not take away from it being a convenient and good place to stay.

Delicious breakfast included in the room, rooms were very clean with comfy beds, efficient check in service and central location!

Our bathroom was located separately from our room. This was fine as we were made aware prior to booking and it was cheaper as a result. However, because it wasn’t locked it didn’t feel very private, as it was in the corridor we didn’t feel safe leaving our belongings in their etc… in the future I think you should install a code on the door so only the people in the allocated room can use the bathroom to make it truly private.

Not sure if all the rooms are the same but we stayed in Room 3 and it was simply gorgeous. If you are above average height then watch your head on the beams and door lintels. The room was cute, quaint and lovely. The breakfast was great too. Cereals, pastries, fruit, oats soaked overnight in milk, orange juice, tea, coffee. All you could want. The location is great too, just a few steps to historic Marlborough High Street.

Personally, I prefer a hard mattress so I found the bed a bit soft for me. The stairs are steep and there isn't a handrail so take care going up and down. Not really suitable if you have a physical disability.

Room 3, no. 8 Comfy bed, fantastic large bath, brilliant location. Not sure why reviews bang on about the parking, it's made clear that the central location means that it's not available. We parked a 2 min walk up the hill. There are further spaces on Frees avenue, a 5 min walk. Or if you're ok to pay, the long stay behind Waitrose had plenty of spaces. Not sure why reviews bemoan the lack of cooked breakfast... Again, clear from the Booking terms what's provided. We thought it was very nice. Decent coffee offered. Proper bath sheets too, and generous shampoo/shower gel & conditioner. Character, too. Can't imagine there's a better stay in the town. Thank you!

Nothing not to like... Bulb needs changing on right hand side of bed which I'm sure would have been sorted if I'd asked.

The decor was very good. Food and drinks provided was very good. The room was immaculate.

The steep stairs without a proper handrail. I felt very insecure when using the stairs. Health and safety issue. I do appreciate that a proper rail would spoil the appearance.At 6ft 3ins and I spent my time worrying that Iwould hit my head on the beams and low doorways. There was no indication when booking that this room was not designed for tall people

Water pressure and the shower were great, and the selection of breakfast snacks. Thank you.

The carpet in the hallway smelled of cat urine! And somebody in a BMW was parked in the front all evening so we couldn’t unpack there and had to carry our bags all the way down the hill. Lastly I was very confused due to the booking.com photos, I was convinced I had booked a room with a bath in the bedroom so was a little disappointed to find it was smaller and not as romantic. However everything was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay.

A really unusual, quirky place to stay in Marlborough and we loved it! A great deal of thought has been put into every detail. After 4 days of hiking the Ridgeway traditional and traditional English breakfasts, it was actually very refreshing to have fresh fruit bowls and morning oats etc. All in all, an awesome place to spend a couple of nights in Marlborough.

We stayed in one of the two top bedrooms and it was very hot throughout the night. Admittedly there was a mini heatwave when we were there so I would imagine this wouldn't usually be a problem.

Walking distance to Marlborough. Quirky unusual room. Good that tried to rectify re lack of gluten free cakes.

Found someone else’s dirty laundry in the drawers. Sink does not drain well. Stairs difficult to negotiate with a suitcase. Not too keen on the breakfast option. Bread Jam and cheese would have been preferable to cakes and a gluten free option. Overnight oats quite nice but portion a bit large and too dry. TV difficult to watch at the side of the bed.

Very clean, and comfortable. Self-service, so no hassle, just straight in and settled. The breakfast set-up in the rooms is a fantastic touch, and a real joy for the morning, please don't change this! It was a short visit for us but one we'd return to.

Although you'd never complain about hot water to wash in, the shower ( in room 6 ) was extremely hot and we could not turn it down, even following the instructions it went from scolding to another level of scolding. The button described to press wouldn't press down. The pressure was great though! I'd also say they need to maybe look at the layout of the bedroom, as only one side of the bed has a bedside table, but this is on the opposite side to the sockets which are currently behind the towel rack..only a small thing, but worth looking at! Needless to say we enjoyed the comfort of the room.
