A very pleasant pub, with a local feel, and an intimate and well set out dining area. It combines traditional pub bar rooms, with a larger dining area, but all tastefully fitted out. There are 2 bedrooms, with excellent bathrooms and rustic interiors. One has a 4 poster bed and both good tea/coffee etc. They are quite quirky, but very appealing. The food was very good and the service and staff excellent. The village is very pleasant, old and relatively quiet.

Breakfast is available in the very pleasant adjacent farm shop, just starts at 0900 hrs. We ate a few minutes away in Gerrards Cross at Gails Bakery, which worked perfectly.

Staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was very big and the bed was extremely comfortable although the variety of lighting switches and their functions was confusing.

The room hadn’t been cleaned/prepared properly: there were (long-standing) cobwebs in several places around the fireplace, in the bathroom and next to the bed where the full length mirror is. There was no milk in the room for tea/coffee and I had to go back downstairs to ask for some. Price was high for literally just the room, no breakfast.

Excellent friendly staff and owner. Fabulous room / bed / bathroom in a superbly picturesque village. Lovely friendly locals as well. Good location but with limited public transport which is, however, manageable with sensible planning.

Sorry to say this but, whilst the food was good we were not impressed with the menu selection or it's presentation.

what a charming pub/ inn. The decor was beautifully done throughout the property. our rooms were very comfortable and stocked with water and other treats. the rooms and bathrooms were very spacious. the farm shop was great for breakfast and takeaway. the front of house was super helpful and friendly. we arrived before check in but the woman who helped us stored our bags in the back until we could check in. she showed us our rooms and helped carry up our luggage. we had dinner at the pub. they have extensive seating outside. the food was excellent.

Busy and clearly popular village pub that has excellent staff providing warm welcome and efficient service. Evening meal in the pub was really good, and breakfast in the farm shop next morning equally good. Bedroom was palatial, with largest en-suite I’ve ever seen, with separate shower and bath (which also had a shower). Great location for largely off-road walk to Country Park one way, and Burnham Beeches the other (13km round trip). Fresh milk provided for the coffee / tea in the room, and a fridge to put it in. Farm Shop at the end of the pub garden was a bonus, well stocked, good coffee (sit in and take away). Really good ambience. Huge car park hidden behind farmshop.

On the expensive side, meals and drinks not cheap - but happy to pay the price for quality food and great service. With cost of living rising daily, what does count as good value nowadays? The weather was hot during our stay so needed to leave window open during the night, but that meant being disturbed by other customers sat outside until late, and a couple of staff members chatting loudly outside, directly under the open window until well after the pub closed and even after the outside lights went out at 1am. Frustrating, but how many days a year is it hot enough to sit outside well into the night, and need a window open to cool the room at same time?

The staff were really friendly and extremely helpful with local recommendations and directions. The room was great and had everything I needed. The Wi-Fi was good so I was able to complete my work before relaxing in the bar.

The fact that they don’t serve breakfast until 09:00. Most people would need it much earlier.

Amazing bathroom - unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to be able to enjoy it. Loved the tap in the ceiling that filled the bath - very cool

There was a big party going on in the grounds - Didn't affect us whatsoever as we chose the venue because we too were going to a big party, in the village. But probably wouldn't have been impressed had we been on a quite night away

Check in was fine, room was comfortable. We had dinner on site which was good.

It felt a bit odd to be told that we would be the only people in the building overnight, there are only 2 guest rooms but I would have thought a staff member would be in residence. Some 'ordinary' tea would have been nice in the bedrooms. No soap in the sink in one of the bathrooms.

The room was well equipped, all the staff were lovely to talk to and very accommodating. Food was phenomenal, and the bed was comfortable

The room was a bit cold with only a small radiator to heat it. On a Friday night the noise from the bar travels into the room quite easily and is clearly audible

The bed, tv, and bathroom were all amazing and exactly like the photos. Great location. Did not dine in the restaurant but it seemed very popular for dinner. They provided a bottle opener on request and were very helpful in refilling the water carafe in the room. Lovely toiletries and overall very clean.

Couldn't get the Nespresso machine to work for the life of me. I'm familiar with the machines but I think it was just broken. I didn't get the chance to raise it to staff and it did not particularly bother me as I'm more of a tea drinker and the kettle was working perfectly fine. But my partner who is a coffee drinker struggled to wake up in the morning without his caffeine
