This is a basic hotel but surprisingly good. Rooms were a little tired but very clean. Bathroom was basic but everything worked fine. Shower was excellent. Stayed in the week and it was mostly workmen like ourselves. Food in the attached pub was usual pub menu but everything was good and prices were very good. Burger,chips and a Stella for £9.50. Excellent value. Didn't do breakfast. Left too early. Breakfast starts at 7am

Seriously can not fault any part of our stay! Totally friendly staff, from Andy to the girls cleaning rooms... top marks! (Makes a massive difference to our stay to see friendly faces and helpful staff). We have stayed at the Bluebell on numerous occasions over the last 15 years, visiting friends and family, and very rarely have any issues. Great breakfasts on all 3 mornings and a decent pub meal catering for our dietary needs. Ample parking and easy drive to Boro centre. Value for money and met our expectations of a pub/hotel of its era and age... still going strong!! Thanks Andy and team for a lovely comfy stay!

Well... we really had to sit and ponder, which speaks for it's self. Nothing negative to say.

Breakfast was good, hotel was busy but bar staff were on top of the food and drinks demands. Room was cool on a hot day and the room was a great price too

Tables in the bar were sticky a lot of the time. The soap in the bathroom in both the bath and by the sink was of poor quality but other than that a good stay.

Breakfast and all evening meals were very good. Very little waiting time and the service was excellent. Parking arrangements were good and the hotel was easy to find.

Would have preferred a walk in shower because we are no longer young and agile. The “ music “ being played from the sound system was some of the worst we have ever heard. Please get a new tape.

Stayed several times when in the area for work. Always quick and easy check in, staff from reception, night porters, bar staff, chefs right through to house keeping always really friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help you with anything you may need. Bar priced respectable with excellent food. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Fairly quiet considering is on the corner of a main junction and a bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Brilliant location with easy access to main motorways, also a 24 hour Tesco literally opposite with Costa etc. Would recommend highly, brilliant value for money you get what you pay for and everything you need if travelling for work or just visiting the area. Also recently had the lower floor refurbished showing they take pride in keeping the hotel clean and not out dated.

Excellent buffet breakfast, the room was very comfortable and the hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and you were given free secure parking on site. I didn't have an evening meal so could not comment on that.

Only gripe, we were on second floor and the lift was broken. I stayed there at Christmas and it was out of action then too.

The newly refurbished family room was excellent -- spacious and clean with all the amenities. Breakfasts were great and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly

A cover to smooth over the seam between the mattresses in the middle of the bed would have made it more comfortable

Friendly, helpful staff with different members of our family party able to check in at different times. Ample parking. Rooms were comfortable and well furnished. Cooked breakfast was served fresh personally rather than buffet - a pleasant change. The hotel was very convenient for our family trip to Roseberry Topping.

We had a problem with the twin bed room as the bed had been made up as a kingsize instead of twin beds. It took 2 changes of room to sort out but the staff were very helpful and went up and personally checked the 3rd room before handing over the keys.

Reception wasn't manned. I had to go find someone very nice, friendly staff.

Only 2 staff members were on the bar and there was a long wait at the bar for drinks and order food . It was the same 2 bar staff that waited in the tables for food. No complaints about food service was good, just slow, and needed at least one more member of staff

it is old and some things are dated, but is clean and functional. the atmosphere is comfortable and cosy, with very friendly and helpful people. lovely typical English styled small town hotel. would go back any time to enjoy the people, the bar and the restaurant with really great food
