Quick and easy check-in with friendly staff, room and its decor was spotless and new. Even for being above a pub and in town the noise wasn’t at any time annoying and became non existent after closing. After experiencing a nightmare hotel days before hand staying at the Hoptimist was a much welcomed change, will happily stay again :)

This public house with rooms is a very pleasant place to stay in the heart of Stockton on Tees together with being very good value for money. The Garrick Hotel has recently been refurbished throughout including the bar and the rooms. The welcome was lovely, prompt efficient and friendly, went that extra mile to make you feel welcome and more than happy to assist with anything they could. The large room was recently decorated, fresh, light and nice. The large television was up to date and the Wi-Fi connection was excellent. A shower and sink could be found tin the side of the room with the toilet down the corridor; water pressure was good in the shower.

Would have liked to have had the chance to make a hot beverage in the room and a desk to place the laptop on would be a great addition. You are in the heart of the town’s nightlife area so you will hear external noise until 3am mostly at the weekends but that is the compromise I was willing to make.

really friendly staff, cute little place. room was clean enough for comfort and just what we needed for a night's stay. right in the centre of the town, a short walk from anything you need. bar downstairs was big and had a really nice feel, nice beer garden too

didn't use the shower but there was a build up of mould on the ceiling, presumably because that corner of the room was damp and dark

Staff were very very friendly, and explained everything, made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere on the night was brilliant even down to the door staff they were brilliant and even showed us the club etc. I had doubts because of how cheap it was but absolutely are my words. Great value for money and we will be back 😊

The shared bathroom was the only down fall

I really enjoyed my stay at The Hoptomist, especially when considering the value for money. The rooms, toilets and facilities were all very clean and well maintained, furthurmore all of the bar staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, for the price I paid it certainly exceeded expectations.

The rooms were nice and clean, the staff are really friendly, and the pub is right near a lot of places to eat and other bars. The rooms we booked were being decorated so we got a free upgrade which was really nice.

Excellent place to stay in the centre of Stockton on Tees, a pub with rooms, close to the shops, bars and restaurants. Comfortable basic rooms at the right price which are very clean and tidy. The toilet was along the corridor with the shower and basin in the room as described. The

The noise/party from the room next door was unwelcome but this was dealt with effectively by the management.

The hosts were very polite, friendly and professional.Now the price for the time I spent for the 3 days I spent was UNBELIEVABLE cheap especially for the quality received.

Staff very friendly and helpful, it was situated around a busy area which would have been spot on for a night out

At the side of the property there was a lot of rubbish on the streets which wasn’t the pubs fault but looked really bad

I liked the room it was a nice size, very comfortable and warm as it was December and very cold outside, it was also very clean and smelt pleasant.

Not have any tea/coffee facilities, the pub was closed and not everyone wants to go down in the bar area, especially if there on there own.
