The outside of the Hotel was a bit deceiving it looked just like any other 3 star hotel BUT when you walk inside it is very very welcoming, cosy, clean, comfortable, spaceous, and beautifully decorated in traditional Scottish style. Our beds were very comfortable we all slept very well, no noise no disturbance very friendly housekeepers but what we loved the most was the breakfast and the friendly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was more than I expected and you were full up by the time you finished, very clean very good quality food, any amount of options. The staff there could not do enough for us they worked so hard (we were at a wedding) and they still were kind and helpful right into the night having served us food early that same day I just cannot fault the staff and want to thank them for their hospitality. We loved Montrose too and we would love to come back, it's a perfect venue for a wedding, the wedding venue looked so cute and had doors that lead put onto a beautifully kept garden (Well done gardeners), the receptionist were super helpful always friendly, I highly recommend this hotel I would go as far to say it was the best hotel experience we as a family have ever had and I think it's because it's very down to earth, family orientated and non pretentious, love it.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious, clean with a very comfortable bed. Both dinner and breakfast were very good with a varied menu. I travelled to Montrose by train so found the location particularly good as the hotel was within 10 minute walking distance.

I was disappointed that dinner was not served in the attractive dining room (had breakfast there) but was given a table in the bar area, as were other guests. Perhaps the hotel felt it was too early in the year to open up dining in the dining room?

Centrally located, nice surroundings, comfortable bar and lounge, a decent breakfast menu included in the price and large cooked breakfast portions.

Fabulous weekend stay, room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. We booked bed & breakfast but ended up having a bar meal in the evening. We weren't disappointed, food and choice on menu was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great base for local sightseeing. Will definitely come back here if we return to Montrose.

Nothing, couldn't fault it.

Lovely spacious twin room, very clean, nice big walk in shower, very quiet and comfortable bed. We were also given fresh towels the second day of our stay. Lovely toiletries provided too. Nice location just a short walk from the beach and not far from town centre either.

There was no shower mat and the shower basin was very slippy, so would have been handy. The pillows were a wee bit lumpy too. There was no free breakfast provided for the single room occupancy which I though was unfair as my booking included breakfast.

Montrose is generally an expensive area for accommodation, so the Park Hotel is relatively competitive for the area. Comfortable well sized clean accommodation and a really good breakfast. Staff are always polite, courteous and helpful.

Only one criticism and it's not just the Park Hotel, it is a common criticism of the Montrose area. The water pressure is poor, I am yet to find anywhere in the Montrose area with decently powered showers. Only a minor issue.

only a minor problem and I booked late so think it was the only room left but because I was there with a baby. I would have preferred to have had a room downstairs as the baby was in his pram and sleeping on our arrival. it is only two flights up but my daughter was pregnant and I older so this made it difficult to lift the pram upstairs,

location is great - the food in the bar/restaurant is SO GOOD - service was good and staff are friendly and helpful. room nice and clean

the bathroom is a little dated and the showers a faff though they do leave clear instructions

Lovely staff and spotless room, food was great as, was the bar and restaurant service 😁 lovely outdoor grounds too.

There was very little hot water for shower in the early morning, was fine later on though. Its a bit dated decor wise but very comfortable furnishings.

The room

The staff in the bar were rude and there was no need .we sat at a table and were told to move as someone had booked the table and we were there for 2 hours and nobody came . Everything was a bother to them The staff in the dining room were really nice
