We visited Carnoustie from Kent for a long weekend in early October to visit a dear family friend in Tayside Street. We booked the Station Hotel as it was so near her. The hotel was fantastic. So friendly with a huge room with large comfy beds, brilliant shower and a view of the beach. The breakfast was excellent - plenty of it and cooked perfectly. We had a drink or 2 in the bars also and found local friendliness so nice. All staff were just lovely and made us feel so welcome. We are in our mid 70s and have only been to Scotland once before so every day was a pleasure to meet great people and see a beautiful part of the UK. Love Scotland. Love Carnoustie. Love the Station Hotel. Highly recommend it.

Brilliant little hotel great location with friendly staff we had a lovely big room with bay window which was nice as you could see the sea unfortunately cause we were just down for one night to see James in Dundee we didn’t get to appreciate this lovely hotel we would definitely book this hotel again as in comparison to the big golf hotel which we have stayed in previously this was much better and value for money.

The hotel was located right across from the train station so very convenient for travelling around the area. Now and again a train went by when we were in the room but on the whole our room was very quiet and I heard no trains during the night. Bed was really comfortable. There was an ironing board and iron in the room (which we didn't need) but it was there if needed. Breakfast was great. A choice of cereals, fruit juice or yogurt and/or a freshly cooked breakfast with toast and tea or coffee. Very helpful and friendly waitress in the dining-room.

Room was quite compact and the bathroom was small. I would have preferred mixer taps on the sink rather than just separate hot and cold taps but everything was clean in the bathroom and nice towels were provided.

Clean. Staff were fantastic. So friendly welcoming and kind. Nice to chat to also. Food was good. Breakfast was included in our booking. It was good. Dinner in the bar the night before was pub grub and the banoffee pie was excellent!

I didn't mind this but just to be aware trains going past are loud but I actually loved that aspect!

Staff warm and welcoming. Large room and bathroom, everything immaculately clean. Breakfast was great, great portion sizes. Great to have a good evening meal in the property food was excellent.

Huge bathroom, could easily accommodate a bath, possibly not there due to age of building but would have been great touch. Decor throughout a bit dated, but again could be due to age of building.

Rarely do you come across a small hotel which has maintained the art of making your stay simply bang on! Friendly team, food brill, pub busy but nothing a problem for the staff and all at a great price! Well done and thanks!

Nothing really. It's the Station Hotel and its right beside Carnoustie railway station so if you don't like trains. . . . .

It was a very good location, handy for visiting other places nearby.

I would have liked a matress topper on the bed as the buttons on the matress were digging in to me. I placed one of the big towels on top of the matress to ease the problem, otherwise everything was great.

Station hotel always nice room we stayed in a bit tired but ok the food here is excellent and the staff were very friendly have stayed several times it’s like coming home really recommend anyone to stay here

Our room was a small double could have done with desk so could do some paperwork curtains and pole were rubbish but don’t want to detract from the hotel as it suits us

The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic and it was good to have a varied selection. We had a good sized room with comfortable single beds. Tea, coffee and biscuits were supplied. Fresh towels were supplied each day on our 2 night stay. Staff were very friendly and very attentive to our every need and so I would like to thank them .

Our bathroom had no shelving to hold toiletries etc, nor hooks to hang damp towels upon. That aside we have no complaints at all.

How fun and helpful all the staff were. Hotel as name says is at the station no need for a taxi.

Difficult to charge mobile phone by bed. But i travel with an extension cable as this is often a problem. It's charge phone or bedside light...but this comment is constructive not a complaint...
