After a day cycling in the rain we were very pleased to arrive at the warmth, dry and the welcome at The Plough. Our rooms were very comfortable and provided an excellent night’s rest before we continued our journey. Under cover space was provided for our bikes. We had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant and a fine cooked breakfast next morning. There were also a nice range of well kept beers available in the bar. This was an ideal stop on our cycling tour of Northumberland.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, excellent cooked breakfast included. We ate dinner in the pub and it was very good. Great location about a mile from the end of the Northumberland Coast Walk. You can walk there from Cresswell or catch a bus. There is a bus stop outside the pub with a regular service to Newcastle There is a grocery store opposite the pub.

Very practical room.

Booking the breakfast slot could not be done in advance. We booked in quite early but only had an 8:15 slot available. We wanted 9:00 the latest as we were going out very early and coming back. We couldn’t be back for 8:15. We had paid good money for the breakfasts and would definitely need them. it did get sorted after some awkward fuss. In the morning the breakfast service and food was excellent.

Easy free parking, lovely room, good food, wonderful hosts, and great free entertainment that evening. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Small niggles - Difficult to brush my teeth in the small sink, with the glass shelf above it, and could not fill the kettle, had to use the toothbrush glass to fill it

have stayed before it’s handy for main road and not too far from the beach . it’s comfortable and the owners are friendly

no opportunity of food in evening though they did offer give me local take away menus tiny wash basin

Reception, advice and breakfast.

The room had insufficient light - the central bulb was too weak in a room painted dark green. Also the window catch needs repair. Although booking.com indicated that an evening meal was available, it transpired that the winter routine had just started, and the restaurant was closed. However we found an excellent alternative nearby.

The room far exceeded my expectations. When I contacted the property to ask for "as quiet as rooms as possible" the response was quite negative which actually led me to think of looking elsewhere. But, in fact, the rooms my friend and I were in (on the west of the building) were excellent with very limited noise. The breakfast was excellent.

The Plough Inn provided a comfortable first night before walking the Northumberland Coast Path which starts in nearby Cresswell. There was a pleasant bar and separate restaurant for dinner.

The dinner was OK, but with not much choice for a coeliac.

Breakfast was included and was very good. Decent portion size and vegetarian option. Shower was a good size and modern design. Room and bathroom was spacious.

The plug sockets were directly behind the beds which was a bit awkward.

Room was actually much nicer than anticipated. Staff were very friendly.

The tiny sink in the bathroom is huge design flaw in an otherwise very well thought-through and nicely done room - it's so small and oddly positioned that it actually makes it quite difficult to use! Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things though
