Breakfasts were superb, pool and sauna very good, friendly but professional staff, comfy bed! The sharing steak for two in the Cast Iron Grill was excellent, all other sundry meals really nice. Location is brilliant and a bit of a haven - National Trust places like Quarry Bridge Mill and Dunham Massey are both only 25 minutes away. Our son got to us from his base in Manchester in 15 minutes. We don't play golf, but it was nice to have the course as a surround.

Hotel's beginning to look a little dated, but that didn't detract from what a great sty we had. Felt familiar in the old Marriott style, but could do with a bit of sprucing up.

We loved our room. It had plenty of space for x3 people staying. The staff were very prompt with requests and so helpful. We needed extra towels etc and no sooner had we asked they arrived at the door. I left my toilet bag in the bathroom and the maid found me in reception checking out to return it to me ( and it wasn’t a short walk!)

The booking process was hard 🙁 as our booking wasn’t straight forward I needed to speak to someone to ask questions. I rang and landed up speaking to someone in another country who spoke very poor English. Communication was so difficult as she couldn’t take my details down correctly. In the end I gave up and booked via Booking.com!

Booking in at reception was very smooth and I was soon handed my room keys and provided with instructions on how to navigate to my alloted room. The meal in the Cast Iorn Grill was excellant.

The car park is not as near to the entrance as I would have liked, if you are on your own and less than abled bodied then getting any suitcaises etc to the entrance could be a bit of a bind, although there is a short road that does go near the door. But this is only be for drop off or pick up but I am sure that a hotel of this quality would assist if needed. Better crossing points from the hotel to the carpark would be helpful.

Beautiful surrounding! I loved our room view. Very good selection with continental breakfast. Great restaurant and lovely food for dinner. Good size bedroom, comfy bed. Very good Wi-Fi signal. All the essentials you need in your room. Friendly staff! Would love to go back there again. Very good facilities. Our kids loved the swimming pool. We enjoyed jacuzzi and sauna. The gym also very well equipped. Excellent place! Thank you for looking after us so well :).

Our neighbour had a work conference via online chat in his room and he woke me up at 7 o’clock . A bit low water pressure in the shower but kids enjoyed bubbles bath!

good location and very handy for the motorway network . Room was very clean and spacious for the 3 of us . staff were very pleasant and helpful . service in the bars , restaurant and reception was excellent . nothing was too much bother . Breakfast and food in the bar was good . We had two excellent dinners in the restaurant . varied menu choices but we both had steaks . we didn’t have time to golf or use the leisure facilities but they looked very good . Again the staff at the golf and leisure club were very helpful when enquiring about using the facilities . Fortunately I get to stay in a number of hotels every year both for leisure and business purposes . I booked the hotel online and liked the look of what I saw . I was not expecting our 3 night stay to be as good as it was . When next in Manchester there’s only one place I intend to stay .

Beautiful hotel, amazingly comfortable beds. Clean and great taste bedrooms. The lobby/reception was under reconstruction, with wet paint etc, but still kept very tidy. Early check-in option.

It's difficult to find parking spot at the hotel car park during the day, when people come to play golf. Tried to sort out early check-in by calling the hotel directly, they said they can't see my booking as it's from a third party,managed it through Booking.com. At the check in, receptionist girl didn't have the best manners, unresponsive and a bit unpleasant.

This hotel had the comfiest bed I have ever slept in and I am really fussy with beds. Really tasty food - loved the range of breakfast options. We had a lovely evening meal, slightly pricier than what we're used to for the size of the courses, but completely made up for it with the quality and taste of the food - the duo of pork in particular was excellent. Swimming facilities were clean and well maintained.

If I had to be picky it wasn't entirely clear where to pick up towels for swimming, but got there in the end and had a lovely swim.

Our stay was lovely, the the staff was great and went that extra mile. The hotel is lovely and clean, food was fantastic my only issue is that the room we stayed in was for two people. Two cups, two towels, two glasses, only two milks and two coffee's. In the morning when we went for breakfast they said breakfast for two, so two to pay when there was four of us, we'd already paid in the price. We did explain and the lady was great with it. We'd payed for a family room and was put in a small room for two. When we came to hand over the cards for the room we explained all this and they had told us it was because we'd booked through booking.com

A good hotel with excellent facilities, we enjoyed the breakfast and used the various restaurants. It is well placed to explore Manchester and the North West. There are several good, well signposted works from the hotel - including along the Bridgewater Canal and Rhs Bridgewater. The nearby village has several good restaurants and pubs.

Although there are several good footpaths leading from the hotel, there is no pedestrian access to the main road and you have to walk on the road.

This was a return visit for my teen daughter & I as we liked it so much a month ago. We like the quadrangle, the feel of the property, the places to eat and last time the staff were amazing,

This time the TVs had a signal problem apparently across the whole hotel which meant we only had access to a v small number of channels - not ideal when we selected the hotel for a relaxing visit with a teen, not just a sleep. Kettle was jammed, had to ask for a replacement - one was brought straightaway. When we went down to reception to explain the above we were very quiet, kind and discreet but unfortunately although i showed the card envelope when asked for our room number the receptionist spoke it out loud which is not good for girls visiting on our own with footballers around us in reception who could hear which room we were in. Training point for staff. We wil probably visit again as it's a nice hotel but performance not good this time - hopefully a one off.
