Location for the theme park,as it was a short walk, staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, no fault with food. Our son is wheat free so the chef made him some gluten free sausages at breakfast time Hotel is very clean and beds were comfortable. The view from our room was nice it looked onto the park and lake.

A wedding was on during our stay and we wasn't told about this so loud music played very loud until late. That was the only issue really , everything else was fine .

Staff were extremely helpful, polite and all the food was cooked to the highest standard, especially as I am pregnant so asked for freshly cooked fried eggs with my breakfast which was never an issue. The room was a good size for a family of 4 and everyone had a comfortable sleep. The cleaning staff were extremely helpful when we had a small mishap with our bedding after the first night. As we went over the Easter Bank Holiday my autistic children were gifted an Easter egg each from the staff after our carvery meal which they were very grateful for, despite not actually eating the carvery meal.

The lights in the room were a little dull and not enough light in 1 or 2 corners plus the main switch was confusing with loads of switches around the room. The hairdryer although not actually used was also in a random place nowhere near a mirror. The TV remote control was a little tricky to use possibly needing new batteries but barely picked up the signal for changing channels and volume control, ending in my husband manually changing the channel on the TV.

We had 4 rooms booked at the hotel for a charity walk in Strathclyde Country Park . My colleagues and I were working over the weekend. Check-in was great. We had a very helpful and friendly receptionist. Our rooms were clean with lots of space. Good wifi reception, too. We ate in the restaurant. The food was lovely. The crumble was an absolute treat! Excellent breakfast, and for those of us who to leave before the 7.30 start, we were offered a packed lunch to go. Luckily for us, the cold buffet and hot breakfast were ready for us to have 7am.

There was a function on that evening with very loud music. Some of our rooms faced the function suite. It's not ideal for us to getting up for a very busy day ahead of us. However , I have to say that when we went to speak to the reception staff to ask if we could move rooms they very kindly and pleasantly arranged that for us. So a very good nights sleep followed.

Breakfast had a great choice to make a Scottish breakfast. Great location for visiting M&Ds next door. Staff were welcoming. Room was big enough for a family of 4.

Sofa bed mattress was so thin could feel metal bars underneath. The room was stifling, had no air conditioning. The kettle was in a wardrobe and looked very dated. I had to look for the back of an earring and mistakenly put my hand under the sofa bed, it hadnt been pulled out in a long time underneath it was disgusting.

Having had stayed previously, the Alona never seems to disappoint. Absolutely great location, especially if you want to chill after a long day one the road (in my case). You can chill in your room, bar, restaurant or go for a nice walk in the park. The location is absolutely gorgeous and gives access to motorway into Glasgow and Edinburgh. The staff are always very warm and welcoming and always professional. The food in the restaurant is very good too.

Having stayed before, this is a hotel I always come back to when I'm in the area. The staff are great, the rooms are always incredibly well presented and clean. Comfortable rooms and very quiet, despite being close to motorways. If like me you drive a lot, the location is superb to go for a nice walk to decompress and relax. The food in the restaurant is really good as well and highly recommend it. For my job the location is superb as it has easy access to motorways both into Glasgow and Edinburgh and you can also access very easily places like Stirling if you want to go and visit the Wallace monument or even the Kelpies.

If I had to say something, and this is only because I work on the road and drive for long hours, would be that sometimes would be nice to enjoy a hot bath after hours of driving, but a hot shower sometimes has to do. Other than that, cannot say a bad word about this hotel.

Lovely big room. Bathroom very well appointed. Great shower. Breakfast was a buffet, but all hot items very good. Continental selection also good.

Unfortunately for US, there was a wedding reception in the Marque outside our window. The music did go on until about 1 a.m. Having said that,, we did sleep after that. I do think in hindsight that when allocating our room to us we could have been informed about said reception and maybe changed our room. However all staff in hotel are exceptional.

Gary on reception was very friendly and professional with us at check in. The location was ideal for us visiting M&D's. The room was very clean and well equipped and everything worked.. Ensuite bathroom was very clean. The shower had 2 shower heads for a refreshing shower. Breakfast was buffet style ,help yourself, cooked items or pastry,toast, cereal and selection of fruit juices. The coffee was via a self service machine. A great stay and would recommend highly.

Only one wee thing was a random knocking sound every now and again coming from the radiator in the room.didnt disturb us too much.

the stay could not have been any better from arriving the friendly reception we had the most perfect rooms modern and extreamly clean and comfortable with every need you have the breafasts were superb there is everthing for all diets the bar staff wete polite and so helpful we had no evening meal but the location could not have been more relaxing with walks along the loch very very impressed WELL DONE TO ALL ALONA STAFF

Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from, was hot and well cooked. The food in the restaurant was cooked to a really high standard. The restaurant staff and the chef were friendly and approachable. The room was spacious and comfortable. Gary on reception was extremely friendly and very helpful.

There something sticking out of one of the sockets but Gary on reception was extremely helpful and had the issue resolved within minutes by having the socket replaced. There was also a few small tiles missing from the floor of the bathroom. We had what felt like an uncomfortably long wait from bring seated to placing order for one of our meals on our 1st full day.
