The room was clean , and had everything I needed for a 1 night's stay. We had an Indian meal at the restaurant across the road(all one owner, but different businesses : the Bay Horse, Spice Restaurant, and the rooms ) and were given a 10% discount. The food was really good, the best I've had for years. The Bay Horse was a nice pub, and the bar man was very helpful

The Bay Horse had karaoke night that finished at 1am , although we heard the singing, etc. we already knew what we were in for due to the information on the site. After all, you get what you pay for.!!! We were quite happy really.

Having read some of the reviews, I was a little worried after I booked it! I shouldn't have been! It was ideal for work, as it was only 1/2 mile to travel. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was large and there was plenty of hot water. There was plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk for my 3 night stay. Yes it is on a dual carraigeway but it is is a 30mph road . I never had a problem crossing the road. If you are unsure or have children, the crossing is about 100metres away, not 1/2 mile as someone said in their review! The noise from the road is very minimal! I slept with the window open and never had a problem. The noise from the pub, well I can't comment on that as I heard nothing! (But my stay was mid week) Overall, very pleased with my stay and would not hesitate to stay there again if working nearby.

My only gripe is the room was a bit small and a chair and desk would have been good. Also, if I'm being really picky, a lick of paint would be nice.

I was so glad to find a clean, comfortable room at a cheap price within easy reach of public transport and restaurants. When I am travelling alone I do not care about fancy furnishings, piles of cushions and so on. I wish Scotland had more hotels like The Bay Horse.

Hamilton's fiendish One-Way Traffic system and lack of parking spaces made it difficult for my visitor to drive me from The Bay Horse to a restaurant. Next time I stay at this hotel I will tell my visitors we will just walk to the amenities in the town centre.. It only takes ten minutes along a safe, well-lighted route. The Bay Horse itself has a good car park just across Bothwell Road, behind Spice Restaurant where visitors can leave their motors.

The size and presentation of the room. It was clean and airy and due to the limited number available, very quiet. The location was okay as well due to the fact the town centre was within walking distance. A pub downstairs too!

One thing that could present a problem is the fact that you will need to cross the road to collect the keys from the Indian restaurant. It can be busy so be careful when crossing.

Check in and parking at Indian Spice Cuisine ML3 0AY opposite Bay Horse. Bothwell Road is 2 lanes in each direction with central divider and turning gaps. Came off M74 J5 and Sat Nav took me straight there and on correct side. Reasonably good night's sleep despite the heatwave we are experiencing.

Cold water ran hot before going cold probably due to hot weather. TV picture at times broke up but soon reset itself.

The Bay Horse is a pub with rooms on a main road and without parking, so I wasn't really expecting too much... However, the Spice restaurant directly across the road is where guests check in and offers sufficient parking - along with a warm welcome from the staff, and a discount on meals for guests. Our room was amazing! Really big - comfortably fitting an enormous double bed and also a single - with a large TV and large shower room. The room was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm, and that bed was soooo comfortable I could have stayed all week!

The only thing that could have improved the stay is better provision of the internet password. Already in our pj's we phoned for it, but were told to go down to the pub and collect it there. This is probably a security measure, but it was inconvenient to us at the time so we decided in the end not to bother.

The room size and cleanliness.

The location, although not noisy next to the road, there was some pub crowd noise but didn’t go on too late. Crossing the road to the car park was a bit tricky at Times, but was nice that there was somewhere to park the car. More details around parking and where to check in would be helpful.

The Location was spot on for Hamilton Races only walking distance and right behind the Bay Horse pub, which was really nice. I believe the pub served a good breakfast at a reasonable price. Clean , comfy and all i needed. Discount on food at indian resteraunt .

The bar staff were accommodating and insightful, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were spacious

If there was an issue, like an alarm beeping, the bar staff couldn't do anything about it as the bedrooms are owned by the store across the road

the noise from the bar downstairs wham trying to sleep, wasn’t really an issue as that’s what you should expect if you are and a bar bit all in all it was fine, if I wasn’t tired I would have been in the bar
