The whole place is peaceful and beautiful. The room was very comfortable, with en-suite shower room. I asked at reception for an extra pillow and it was quickly provided. Breakfast was good - buffet style with everything one could want. The gardens are lovely, especially as I was very fortunate with the weather during my stay. The carillons ringing out made a delightful sound. The Shrine Church is very special, with a great deal to see and learn, as well as services held frequently. Walsingham Abbey is only a few minutes walk away, and offers a wonderful step back into history with the museum there. The Abbey ruins are rather sad, but also majestic. The gardens are wonderful. When I visited the bluebells were just coming out. Lunch at the Read And Digest Tearoom, situated between the Shrine and the Abbey, was delicious. Wells-next-the-sea is an easy bus ride away and is well worth a visit. Alpaca trekking is available (see their website) and ambling along with an alpaca is a very pleasant hour or so. A very restoring few days.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

I’ve been visiting Walsingham’s Shrine for many years but in the past number of years, only as a day Pilgrim. Until last weekend, I hadn’t stayed at the Shrine accommodation since it was re-furnished some years ago. The accommodation is of a very high standard, very clean, peaceful, the food options on site are good and the staff helpful & friendly. Bed was comfortable and single room size more than adequate for one person. I had an en-suite room.

Nothing I can think of other than my room was a bit too warm overnight for me. There wasn’t a window to open only the balcony door and I didn’t want to leave that open! A little shelf in the shower to hold your shower gel/ soap would be welcomed.

We had a little difficulty finding the way into the buildings. The car parking was very near and amazingly good value. The rooms were modern and very clean. Sharing the bathroom etc was easy. Everyone staying there was considerate and friendly. The breakfast was a super treat each day. Big choice of cereals, fruit, a good variety of hot cooked items etc,etc. The whole stay was such good value for money. Outside the whole ambience was of peace. There were plenty of benches to rest on and many little areas for solitude. The gardens are immaculately kept and tranquil. Thoroughly recommend this as somewhere to stay for a relaxing few days.

It was simple and restful, so there is nothing l didn’t like.

It’s a lovely place with lots of history, location is great too! Breakfast was nice and served efficiently for the numbers of people in the cafe. Everyone there is very pleasant and helpful. We requested a cot for our little one but as all the cots were gone they allocated us in 3 beds instead which was better for us. Bathrooms are shared but they are clean and enough of them for all the guests.

We haven’t checked it before the booking but there is no parking and no even lay-by at the front to unload the language. Good that the public car park is not far.

Quiet, restful, wonderful staff and generous breakfast. Can adjust temperature in room, which helps when it's a bit chilly. Location wonderful - close to Wells. Access to a communal kitchen and lounge.

Price for family room, which has shared toilets, is fairly costly (whereas the en suite double rooms are far more reasonable). No on-site parking which adds to the overall cost.

Breakfast was very good, everything including hot toast was immediately available to hand, properly cooked, very clean and efficiently executed. The outer door closes at 11.00 pm, whilst arrangements can be made to call a someone to open the door, I would have been happier to know that a night porter was visibly awake and on duty throughout night.

Breakfast was only available between 8 and 9 am every day of the week, , although I recognise that this hotel is dedicated to pilgrimage and not of a commercial nature, it would have been more convenient to have flexibility.

The stay here was fantastic, the place was ideally located for me to get to an event at Holkham, staff were helpful and the room was superb - clean, and super comfy beds.

It was a little bit confusing first arriving at the location, as there is no signs for the accommodation (just the cafe). Unfortunately my room was next to the vent, or something, that made noise throughout the night - but that is just the luck of the draw.

Very comfortable, spacious rooms. Beautiful, quiet location and the included breakfast was a bonus. We arrived on bicycles as we were cycling the Rebellion Way and the staff locked them in one of the meeting rooms for us so that they were secure overnight. If you are doing the route I would thoroughly recommend this as a stop.

This was quite a special stopover. Booked somewhat last-minute, I caught the bus from Wells and arrived here in the darkness. I scrambled inside and read the information about the Shrine in the Visitor's Area, before being shown to my room. I was in the room sponsored by the Archbishop of Canterbury's Charitable Trust, "Seraphim", so I didn't do too badly. Maybe the keys to the Pearly Gates next time? The accommodation is part of the shrine complex, so is well placed for spending quiet time in the main chapel. It was a comfortable night and the aura of spirituality made this a special night and a great blessing after a memorable day.

Walsingham is perfect for quiet , reflection ,prayer and solitude . The food is well prepared and more tha adequate.

One of the nights was particularly cold . Coming from South Africa where we do not have central a heating . A brochure with a brief explanation how to put it on in the room would have been helpful . Try as I may I could not get it to work . If it was not working an extra blanket in the room would have helped.
