Didn’t like when pool and sauna was closed for maintenance because that was reason why I chose this place but it didn’t ruin our holiday and liked when they informed you about that and still I’m happy that I choose this Hotel 10 out of 10

Lovely big clean bed and the room was well kept. Furniture was also clean and tidy - all as you’d expect

Was originally given a twin room when booked a king sized (however mistake corrected straight away). Only green tea or breakfast tea provided in rooms. With standard milk pots. Alternative milk option would have been great along with fruit teas/peppermint. The room wasn’t cleaned-down after my first night, I’m used to not putting a door-sign out if you don’t want it cleaning. Perhaps a heads-up on check-in that you need to ask / indicate if you want a turn down service rather than expect it. The position of my room right next to a small stair case meant there was a lot of noise from other guests at all hours. They were running up and down and jumping the steps at times. Not sure how the hotel could solve this though

Golf course in good condition, greens were excellent and ran true. Staff at pro shop friendly and helpful. Rooms are a good size and clean. Leisure facilities are decent enough e.g. pool, sauna, gym etc although pool not the biggest. Food in the restaurant was good ( when it finally arrived ! ) Breakfast was excellent, can't complain. All round, Staff were friendly. Plenty of parking

Service in the restaurant was pretty chaotic. Took a while to get a menu, never mind order. Our experience wasn't the worst, but several other people were having a nightmare of a time. Young staff and manager didn't seem to have a grip on how to do the basics at times. it wasn't even that busy tbh. We ate out the remaining two nights of our stay, enough said.

The staff were very efficient and helpful. There was a confusion over my room booking but it was sorted out very quickly and I was given a voucher for a complimentary drink as an apology. Breakfast is substantial and in a nice environment. Room was exceptional including bed and bathroom facilities. Small swimming pool but was able to have it to myself most of the time - don't expect to practice for the next Olympics in it. The bar and restaurant were welcoming, enjoyed a nice pizza on the first night of my stay.

I think it is misleading to call the hotel Newcastle - it is only six miles from Newcastle, but it is in Washington. As a pedestrian finding my way to the hotel from the bus stop was not easy - the route should be made more explicit. I know the clientele are generally expected to be drivers, but this is not always the case. Washington itself seemed very nice.

The room was very comfortable. I loved being able to have a swim and a sauna. The food in the restaurant was good. The staff were so friendly and very good at their jobs.

I was really frustrated to hear that the waiting staff in the restaurant no longer receive any of the tips. This would put me off eating here again. The breakfast was very poor. If I hadn't been dashing off to a meeting, I would have complained. There was only one member of staff who was running around and kept having to disappear. So I just went and sat down and then helped myself. The coffee machine wasn't working or wasn't being used and the coffee in the flasks wasn't great or warm enough. The plates for the hot buffet were tiny side plates, almost as a ploy to stop people eating as much. The fresh fruit salad was inedible and that whole counter was sparse. It looked obvious to me that someone had made the decision to cut back on costs and it had been done badly.

Great hotel with nice spa facilities and an onsite pub with nice food.

Low quality of customer service. Had to call multiple times to ask about opening times of spa facilities and reception staff were not able to give an answer. Ended up finding it myself at the hotel website. On arrival no information provided regarding breakfast/ facilities etc. Nobody was picking up the phone at the reception so ended up with multiple trips to ask them in person. Would have been a great place for an overnight stay if staff got a bit of customer service training.

Room was nice as always, facilities in there were really good. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

I say the room was great, apart from there must have been someone in the room next to mine building a house or something as the noise from that room was coming through the air conditioning. The was a shortage of staff at Breakfast so there was 1 person keeping everyone happy, delivering breakfast and seating etc, breakfast was good but seemed she was a little pushed (I have stayed here a few times and this is the first time I have anything not great to say so please don't take this as a major negative).

stayed here for my birthday i was worried at first thinking whats it going to be like as could have booked in newcastle for not much more but our privilege room was finished to a high standard also very clean and having spa facilities included was great, all staff we met where very helpful, i have stayed in some expensive hotels in my time that have not hit the mark this hotel out proformed nearly them all for a great price, would stay here again, keep it up guys

Great location for what I needed . I was given an upgrade to a Privilege room which was excellent. ….. food in the bar was superb. Best fish and chips I’ve had for a long time. And because it was a Sunday the price was amazing. Definitely recommend

Some early morning noise outside but nothing that annoyed me too much

I stayed for 1 night as I was going to a concert in Newcastle. The price was good for the facilities the hotel had to offer which is why I booked. My room was big and the bed was very comfortable. Spacious bathroom and good shower. Free car parking also.

When we went to the bar at 25 to 11 the woman who was working was rude to my partner when telling him the bar was closed (once we went back to our room I discovered last orders are at 10.45, so I'm sure we could have had 1 drink). She clearly had no people skills and just wanted away home, not a nice manner at all.
