I was pleasantly surprised to find out my room was separate to the main building as it allowed for a great night sleep. Parking right outside the room also made carrying your bags indoor a lot easier. Going into the bar/restaurant area through to the check in desk, I couldn’t believe how beautifully decorated it was (pictures don’t do it justice). Later on in the evening there was an event on with music & lots of people but you could not hear a thing which was so good! Spoke to a few staff members during my stay in with every single person was very friendly & welcoming so thank you! All in all, a great night stay & I will definitely be back. Thank you!

The room was clean and cosy and the bed very comfy. Tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice greeting too. The staff were always so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. The hotel is also very friendly for dogs and their owners :-)
They did have trouble with drains for part of our stay which caused a smell coming from the bathroom. But nobody’s fault and I’m sure they will deal with it. One tiny niggle…. Maybe some bedside drawers would help instead of having to open the suitcase all the time…

The staff and facilities were very clean and fantastic value for money. The breakfasts served were absolutely beautiful and a welcome treat before setting off for the day. I highly recommend this place, but book your evening meal before arrival. It's a busy place, and for good reason!
The rooms were lovely but should have done with an airing out as the bathrooms were a little musty, but this is of no fault of the hotel/staff. We arrived at lunchtime and were disappointed that they don't accept walk-ins for lunch, even from their hotel guests.

The rooms are a lovely size. The little chocolates and biscuits were a lovely treat. The only thing it's missing is a little fridge but for the price I wasn't bothered. Excellent falue for money. The outside door could do with a lock when children in other room but no big deal.
Lots of spiders I know it can't be helped but they were lots. The bin liners are crap and just rip. Got others from waitress at breakfast that were a bit stronger. Over all great place will be back.

The Ravensworth Arms was in a peaceful location within easy reach of local attractions, including Beamish and The Angel of the North. Our family room was spacious and comfortable. The bar and restaurant areas were comfortable and cosy. The staff were all lovely. We had an evening meal on one night. The food was lovely. We had the Supper Club menu, so it was particularly good value for money.
There was a stange smell in the bathroom, possibly to do with the drainage system. Opening the window helped to clear the smell.

Very nice room with a great pub next door. Great location. Feels like you are in the country, but very close to the A1 and Gateshead. Plenty of parking and good free wifi. Very friendly staff!
The lighting in the room was very dark. The bathroom was ok, but a little tired and lots of creep crawlies. Obviously it’s located next to a field, but perhaps bathroom needs a good dusting more regularly of cobwebs etc. However, overall a very good experience!

Room was lovely and warm, clean and comfortable and all the staff were super friendly. Evening meal was lovely.
Breakfast was terrible. Stayed 2 nights. First morning had the full English which was served cold. Cold beans and mushrooms and half cooked hash brown served on a cold plate. Very poor. Second morning had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast. A large slice of salmon on my plate, overcooked rubbery scrambled eggs and again luke warm served with a very dry piece of cold toast which was sat on the top of the salmon. No presentation at all and all looked like it had been thrown on the plate from a distance. For the money it was terrible both days. We paid £150 for 2 nights which I felt should have included the breakfast as the breakfast wasn't worth anywhere near what we paid for it.

From check in to check out. 10/10 The receptionist couldn’t do enough, offering me take out menus as kitchen was closed, as I arrived late. Lovely clean room, comfy bed & plenty of tea/coffee. Came down for brekkie early and a beautiful roaring fire, lovely friendly waitress, the same one as checked me in & she is welcoming. Shame I didn’t catch her name. This is a little hidden gem.
Wifi didn’t work in my room. Used it as a change to tune out & read my book, but it’s a negative when on a work trip.

Such a lovely place! The staff were incredibly friendly - it was like having family around. If there was anything I needed I knew it was no problem to ask. The room and bed was lovely and comfortable and smelt amazing. I need to know what scent they use in the rooms! Breakfast and dinner were also delicious. If you're looking for a cosy place with lovely clean and warm rooms, friendly staff and excellent dining, pick this one! I'm going to tell my family to stay here when next in town.
Nothing! Genuinely it was a perfect stay.

Lovely cozy recently modernised rooms, the staff were all very friendly & welcoming, food for breakfast & in the restaurant at dinner was spot on, if anything portions were too big & we felt guilty to waste such lovely food! The chalet style rooms were nice & quiet and a bonus we could park right outside.
Beds were a bit too hard for our liking & the duvet was very thick for the time of year, but nothing major.
