Loved the sparkling water tap near the lift. genius idea. Chicken Supreme was excellent in the restaurant. Availability of towels is good. I was in an executive room on the second floor. I

Toiletries in the room, the wall mounted dispensers are a bit temperamental and some body lotion or moisturiser would be a good addition. I would also appreciate flannels in the room and a shaving mirror. Hard to shave in the bathroom! I stay here regularly, but no-one seemed able to share details of any loyalty programmes. I asked on arrival and departure. I am still not sure if I have access to an exec lounge for working from if staying longer in the hotel - is this a missed opportunity at check-in? Overall really like the venue and will choose to return here.

Room is always comfortable with all the nice "extras" such as robe/slippers/coffee machine. Very clean and everything in excellent condition. Great variety of breakfast offering. It is just so quiet and peaceful and easy to get to.

There were a couple of small niggles this time. Although my room was cleaned well between day 1 and day 2, the dirty cups were not removed and the tea tray was not replenished. At dinner I requested bread which took 15 minutes to arrive and at breakfast the milk ran out and no-one seemed capable of refilling. But these are very small points in an otherwise lovely stay.

Lovely, lavish building and nice, clean comfortable rooms. Nothing special though, and I stay in a lot of hotels for work, However, I can understand why it is expensive because of its location, size and it must cost a fortune to maintain. Suited us though for the graduation ceremony. Generally, Nice hotel, nice people, nice rooms, polite domestic staff. Just not particularly good value.

Room info - 'Scan the QR code' Menu - Scan the QR code' I'm OK with thet, but a lot of people I know don't have a scoobie what a QR code is? OR they can't get it to work. SO. I scanned the room info and found the Menu. Only came up with the 'Bar' menu. OK. . Fish and chips for two £35.90? No. Let's go down to the bar and scan the Brasserie menu. Scanned the QR code. Same menu. No restaurant menu. I knew there was one because I'd seen it on the website. (Nothing we fancied anyway except the Lamb at £25 each). So went out instead.

The actual Orchard Hotel was excellent: great reception and restaurant staff, wonderful location, lovely building and excellent breakfast. And the staff were very understanding when we brought the door key home with us! We stayed in Hugo Stewart House, which was in a very quiet location, in a beautiful old building and offered plenty of extra rooms, eg dining room, lounge etc. And the bathroom was great. Hugo Stewart House could be the perfect place to have a weekend with friends.

We stayed in Hugo Stewart House and everything was fine, even good (location, facilities etc) but it felt in need of some love and attention; the wallpaper was a bit ripped, the pictures weren’t the right size for the walls, the wifi was pretty useless, the window frames need some serious attention (it looks like someone has repaired - putty handprints on the glass - when restoration is needed). So, all in all good accommodation and great staff…& there’s some room for improvement in Hugo Stewart House.

So on pulling upto the hotel it actually looks more like an abstract museum on entering. However everything was very modern and clean. Staff were incredibly helpful and very interactive. Breakfast was incredible!!! Get the breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and the room itself was lovely, however we did stay in an executive suite. This was a our first stay and myself and my boyfriend were made to feel very welcome and accommodated well. The room was made to look romantic as requested and fresh water and a vase were in the room also as I said I would be brining flowers.

The colour schemes of the rooms are a bit random and they do have a lot of plastic wallpaper stuff with photos of nature that make the room look a little cheap.

The bar and restaurant

Falsely advertising that they have a swimming pool. They have a deal with David Ross sports facilities across that is worthless. Apparently it’s first come, first serve for the residents of the hotel and only for 1 hour slots, but upon going there, I found out that the university students(prioritised), had booked all the slots for the whole evening. Something which renders this deal useless and a waste of my time getting my kids all excited and ready, only to find out that it’s virtually impossible to use the pool, even for a one hour slot. Get that picture of the swimming pool of your website- that’s FALSE ADVERTISING

Position as we were visiting for son’s graduation. Plenty of parking, nice comfortable and quiet rooms

We had a bar meal at lunch time, it wasn’t over busy but there were quite a lot of tables with dirty plates and glasses. We sat at a table with food and crumbs left as this was best of what was available. When we placed our food order we asked if the table could be wiped, no one came. When they brought the food to us we asked again for it to be cleaned, again no one came. For a hotel of this standard I thought this was poor service I wasn’t going to ask a third time.

The property was very tastefully decorated and a lovely bright, open space. The room was the same, with a very comfy bed and large bathroom. Our stay was only brief but the members of staff that we dealt with were very friendly and efficient. Parking was no hassle and we were able to park very close to the property, which was handy as it was chucking it down with rain! The location was very good only being a short drive into Nottingham but there were also lots of bus / tram stops nearby for those reliant on public transport.

There was nothing not to like!

The place is very modern in a lovely open setting. The rooms are spacious, good large shower - no bath. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. I am not sure if there are any significant amount of local facilities around but the place is very peaceful and for someone who enjoys those little walk it is ideal. A self service breakfast is available with a very good, not extensive, choice, but more than enough to provide a good start to the day. The food was well prepared and presented.

Nit-picking? The wife commented that there wasn't a mirror in the room and couldn't use the hairdryer in the bathroom to do her hair in the morning. Personally I don't have that problem.

We actually stayed in the Hugh Stewart House during Easter weekend. The house isn't part of the hotel. It's an old Manor House, previously Lenton Hall. It is smack bang in the middle of Nottingham University Campus. So only book this is the holidays, otherwise, I'm sure it must be extremely busy. Unless, you're visiting friends or family who attend the University. The house is amazing, and we felt incredibly blessed to have the whole house to ourselves. I would definitely stay again, but, I would probably take my own breakfast food, as what the hotel offer in the house is really poor. The house needs some serious maintenance, the windows downstairs need looking at. Some panes were broken, and the ivy is growing on the inside of the house, which isn't hard to rectify. All the furniture, still has paperwork in from the University. It needs a really good clear out, which I would absolutely love to do. I just think the house needs some loving and attention and then they could charge a lot more.

Breakfast was very disappointing.
