Very clean. Friendly staff. Easy check-in, even though we were pretty late getting there. Good WiFi. Cooked breakfast was good, although my wife thought it was just ok. Nice espresso machine. Good walking distance from property through the village to the local pub.

A bit funky tbh - place is very charming exterior, but the room we stayed in was a bit funky and tired. So maybe a bit expensive for what it is. Everything was clean, though, and I guess you pay for being an hour out of London.

Lovely thatched building in a very picturesque setting. The rooms were spacious and well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. Large en suite bathrooms were accessed by sliding doors and everything functioned as it should. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and made our stay very pleasant indeed. They gave us advice as to the best place to park in Oxford which was very kind and helpful of them. Breakfast was quite simply outstanding; the very best breakfast we have eaten anywhere. I cannot wait until we get the chance to stay here again.

Very difficult to think of anything to put here being completely honest. There was a shaving mirror in the bathroom of room 4 that used to light up but didn't though this didn't matter. There was a small fridge in the room that was a little noisy but we switched it off overnight so as not to be disturbed.

Clifton Hampden is a lovely old building, we have stayed there twice, once in a beautiful room within the main building which included a small fridge freezer and the second time in one of the exterior doors which had a small chiller. Both rooms were clean, beautiful laid out and very comfortable. They provide a lovely breakfast which is adapted to individual requirements. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this b&b for single nights or longer holidays.

There is little not to like about this b&b, from a totally personal perspective given a choice I would choose an internal room. There is a small bar but we have not found it open or any indication of when it is available but there are two lovely pubs close by so it's not really a big problem

The couple running the B&B were lovely and clearly very passionate about doing their utmost to give people a good stay. Lots of thoughtful touches around the place and they were also very flexible with check-in which we really appreciated as the wedding schedule didn't align well with usual check-in windows. The full English breakfast was very well done and definitely the highlight for us.

There were two big spiders in our room which we had to evict - one in the bath and one on the bedroom ceiling when we arrived. But the BnB is an old thatched cottage so perhaps that goes with the territory. We had a room close to the front door and some people arrived near midnight and kept ringing the doorbell to get in and it chimes v loud (woke my sister up). Perhaps a sign saying "call this number after X pm" or a doorbell that chimes where the hosts are instead of at the door would be good.

Lovely location, beautiful old thatched cottage with thatched stable blocks converted to bedrooms. There was plenty of off-road parking. Breakfast was really good and well cooked.

There was no housekeeping during our stay....ie beds not made, bathroom not cleaned, and refreshments not replenished. There was a fridge in the room, so we bought milk and tea, but compared to every b&b we have stayed in before, at the same price, we expected housekeeping to be provided. However, we were only there for 2 nights, so it didn't matter. I'm a big girl, I can make my own bed and wipe the b athroom down, but the towels got quite wet with nowhere to dry them, and when on holiday, you don't expect to start doing chores. Having said this, we would stay here again.

After an initial confusion about checking in we found our room to be really lovely with beautiful pine furniture. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was cozily warm and the bathroom was clean (save for a used hand towel left accidentally but there were plenty of fresh towels provided) with a good large shower area. The room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were really friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Clifton Hampden exceeded our expectations, the room was very charming and so nicely decorated with all the comforts and amenities we could wish for. The village is small and very quaint, with a lovely pub within walking distance. The breakfast was a typical English breakfast which was very tasty and the hosts were very welcoming and nice to chat to. If you are noise sensitive you might want to bring earplugs as the B&B is located by a road, it is not too busy though. Would stay here again!

Our lovely hosts were so very attentive to our needs.Because my partner had been having medical problems we asked if we could have a quiet room.We were so grateful to be accommodated in a lovely en suite annexe which was so very peaceful and comfortable. As for breakfast, we gave 12 out of 10...it was scrumptious, all cooked to our liking, beautifully presented and promptly served on time and with a smile. Just lovely!

Hospitality was perfect. There was nothing to dislike

Great, cheap, clean, comfy b&b. The owner was away for 2 weeks so no English breakfast but great continental breakfast, more than we could eat, coffee and tea refills. We were coming from Oxford onto Stonehenge so on the right side of town.

Although a small village there was lots of traffic ,noise did not affect our stay however, street lighting poor if you want to walk to the nearest pub, 4 mins away and no footpath over the bridge. Minor things really but knowledge useful.

Agree with other contributors that the tasty breakfasts truly set you up for the day ahead. There are cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit and...hot food, freshly cooked for you, (they asked for a time we'd like breakfast). Such a difference to have good quality tasty food cooked while you wait, rather than the hot containers of pre cooked food often offered! Our room was a good size, comfortable, with restricted height in some areas, but at 1m88 I'm used to this in older buildings. We slept well and were not affected by noise from the nearby road at any time.

Well, you do have to walk outside between your room and the room where breakfast is served, but it's an old 'converted' pub, there are bound to be quirky bits, so if that's a problem for you, then you miss out on its character and charm. Don't use the address given by booking.com, by itself it's not accurate enough for our Garmin Sat Nav, search for the actual property by name! In the dark we toured the surrounding areas only to find it's not 'hidden away' at all and 'right' by the corner where our sat nav told us to take a left!!
