Everything. Room was spacious and had the key essentials. Bed was comfortable. Quiet. Big parking space. Restaurant pricing and the food selection and food itself was very good. Cocktails and wine delicious. Staff very attentive and friendly. Distance from Oxford 15 minutes by car. A wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.

Think for the price whether book direct or not breakfast should be included, at least a continental one (bread with a drink). Not impressed with the automatically added service charge to the bill. Would rather give the tip direct to the staff in cash then know they get it. Too many restaurant put it on the bill and don’t pass it on. The next comment is not a real critic. There are many who have a dislike to spiders no matter their size, distance or helpfulness. Therefore best to make sure the rooms are cleaned to be fully spider-free. The cleaning lady was most accommodating when asked to do this.

The bar and restaurant are fantastic. The food and quality from the Fat Chief is of a very high standard, prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and wine, and to be expected for Oxford. Front of house, Mad's... she is very good and attentive, welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble! If you are travelling into Oxford, it's expensive. The buses are hard to figure out. THE BUSTOP OUTSIDE THE PUB DOES NOT serve the city. However, if you walk out of the pub, turn right to the roundabout and at the roundabout 1st left. There is a bus stop on that road about 300 meters further up that road that will get you in and runs late. A CAB TO AND FROM OXFORD WILL COST BETWEEN £60 AND £70!!!

Although the room was good overall, the cleanliness wasn't to the best standard, toilet seat is stained underneath and toilet leaking across the bathroom tiles when flushed. Apart from that the room was comfortable and relaxing and had everything needed and some nice touches such as the teabags. Bring your own drinks for the fridge. Trust me £.

The location was perfect for our needs, conveniently located for easy access to the hospital I attended early the following morning, much better than staying in Oxford which is notorious for heavy traffic and jams. Our dinner was extremely good made with fresh locally sourced ingredients. The staff were efficient and friendly.

We had early morning breakfast delivered to our room the evening before could have been better, the bread was a few slices of white wrapped in clingfilm. Some locally made/artisan bread would have been more in keeping with everything else provided at The Chequers. The presentation was sorely lacking, perhaps a nice basket would be a good start.

Lovely historic thatched pub with modern chalet-style boutique bedrooms. The room was light and airy with an immaculate bathroom and a good range of toiletries. The bed was very comfy and the TV was a good size. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent - highly recommended! The menu was interesting and offered a good range of dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses and would certainly go back there for a meal again. The cooked breakfast was very good too! The staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome.

The car park was situated in the middle of the bedroom complex so we could hear the taxis and cars moving around late at night, especially as the ground was covered in gravel. Price-wise, it seemed rather expensive but at least the parking was free and the location was much nicer than central Oxford.

The shower was amazing, the shampoo and soap provided is gorgeous smelling. Room itself was bright and airy, fan was provided which was needed overnight. Good coffee making facilities. Mini fridge in room was an unexpected addition. Friendly and helpful staff. Meal in pub was excellent can highly recommend.

The floor was not very clean in the main bedroom area. Cobwebs on beams (could easily be reached with a feather duster). Dust on tea/coffee making facilities and tea caddy. Bed not particularly comfortable, very soft. On a busy main road and gravel car park out the front meant we could not sleep with the window open. Also, access path to rooms very narrow, open windows caused issues passing other rooms.

The Room was well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. We had a meal in the evening which was very nice, a bit pricey but worth it. And the breakfast was pretty good too.

The only things that we didn't like was the size of the keyring. It was very big, so if you stayed more than a day I'm not sure how you could fit it in a bag. And you had only one choice of drink with breakfast, either tea, coffee, or orange juice. If you wanted both, you had to pay extra.

All aspects of our stay were good, except . . .

Since Chequers was advertised as Bed and Breakfast, we assumed that breakfast was included. When we arrived, we were told that since we had booked through a 3rd party (i.e. Booking.com), breakfast was not included. Because of a flight cancellation, we had to take an extra day, which we booked directly with Chequers, we received a free "breakfast" on our final day - orange juice, milk, white bread, jam and an individual pack of Kellogs cereal in our room. Not my idea of a breakfast

Modern single-storey accommodation block built around large car-park of quaint pub (with modernised interior). Thus no struggling upstairs with luggage. Comfortable bed, good shower (no tub), large TV, Netflix, Prime, Youtube all included in the price. Tea/ coffee facilities, Nespresso machine, toaster, small fridge (albeit a bit noisy). Pub closed Mondays so that day breakfast is continental, served to the room and you make your own toast. Other days superb cooked breakfast served to your table in the pub, such delights as full English, eggs Benedict, smoked salmon with scrambled egg (huge portions). Other meals (gastropub) are excellent; friendly chef (owner) certainly knows his stuff.

We loved it; would definitely stay again.

The food was excellent at both lunch and dinner, and the staff gave great service. The rooms were spacious and well appointed.

An outside garden area would have been nice in the beautiful weather. There was a nice open-sided eating/drinking section but this was easily filled by a private party. It was great that the rooms were in an annex and not above the pub/restaurant but our room was number one, nearest the road, which became very busy and noisy from 5am, curtailing our sleep!

Atmosphere in the main building was really warm and welcoming, quality and taste of food plus value was, exeption. Quality of customer serviceand front of house management on arrival and during visit excellent. Cleanliness of rooms, quality of fixtures to a high standard

Confusing as what to do in the Monday morning when checking out as no one available to take in keys etc due to monday closures. Also about breakfast, thought would still get our breakfast basket but not supplied but wasnt made clear that it wouldnt. Would be good to provide coffee sachets as well as capsules as not everyone likes that type of coffee.
