We were in the modern section of the Cosener's House separate to the old main building and it was absolutely fine. Our room was light, clean, the decoration was in very good order, the en-suite was good too. Having read reviews about the restaurant we decided to give it a miss mainly because there are plenty of eating options in town with good menus and better reviews. That said the breakfast was superb as per the reviews, the best we had on a 6 day walking trip staying somewhere different every night. The ladies covering the service 18th July need a shout out (sorry I did not get your names) for making us feel welcome, valued, and not just another face passing through - Manager take note!

The breakfast was amazing - lots to choose from, healthy options and lots on the cookedmenu. Room was lovely, bathroom was huge. It was only about 5 min walk from the town centre, easy to find. Regular bus service from Didcot Parkway to Abingdon town centre (fixed rate, very cheap). Local area and grounds were beautiful. Function centre was lovely (there for wedding reception). Staff were helpful and friendly.

Bathroom was reached via a short corridor with steps at both ends. Have suggested a grab rail at each end would be helpful to those of us with mobility issues.

Absolutely stunning location with views of the River Thames and passing canal boats from the rear gardens. Very comfortable room. Helpful staff. Excellent value for the Abingdon area. It was quite magical to walk around the town and riverbanks (only minutes away on foot)

The room we were allocated was not the one we pre-booked, but we were able to move to the right one. Navigating to the rooms is confusing, with many doors, twists and turns - but we appreciate they are working with a listed building. More signage and guest information in the rooms (about wi-fi access, meal times etc) would be helpful to reduce the need to ask reception staff.

Nice and spacious room (deluxe). Very close to the centre of Abingdon.. 5 min walk to Abingdon. Hotel was clean and bright.

Would be nice if the mattress protector on the bed was the correct size. It kept coming off the bed. It was a double mattress protector on a king sized mattress! Stayed 3 nights. On first day I took a light bulb to reception as it did not work in a side light. They told me they did not have any to replace it so we spent the three nights without a bulb. Not impressed! I knew they had a restaurant for evening meals but no where could I find a menu or how to book a table so ended up eating in the town. Website did not show it either. The Brewers Tap is a good place to eat. Recommend booking though. Not a lot of parking at hotel so first come first serve.

Staff were ace - professional, polite and friendly and chatting with the smashing GM was a first! Lovely location and a hotel with a bit of heritage. Views to the rear garden superb. Room was nice and clean

Shower needs updating. Breakfast was good but because it was a buffet style, with scrambled eggs only, it was limited as there was no opportunity/offer to have poached or fried eggs or just have poached eggs on toast. I thought £6.00 for a pint of larger is a bit top end but as it is a wedding venue, I guess that is the going rate. Bar was quiet though. Room was sometimes noisy from hotel kitchen extractor fan but that seems to be consistent when using Booking.com Room was a bit smaller than expected for ~£100.00/night.

Our room had a lovely view over the river. It was large, warm and comfortable. The location was excellent, being only a ten-minute walk (if that) from Abingdon centre. The staff were great and we enjoyed the historic nature and feel of the building. There was plenty of parking, nearby walks and places of interest.

The atmosphere in the dining room and bar was a little cold, with bright lighting and bare walls. The bar was particularly uninviting. The breakfast was fine but there could have been more fruit and more choice for those who don't eat a cooked meal at this time of day. (Though my husband thought the cooked breakfast was very good.) It was difficult dealing with the wifi!

Very affordable. Breakfast was beautiful, staff were helpful and the house and grounds were stunning! Beautiful wedding venue although I didn’t visit for a wedding.

The rooms were good and I enjoyed my stay in the stables section however I would have enjoyed a bath in the room instead of just a shower. The car park isn’t very big but there is a car park for the abbey gardens which you have to pay for up until 6pm and before 9am. The staff were very helpful although on two occasions I went to reception, once to drop my luggage off and a second time to check out and there was no staff to be seen leaving me waiting quite some time.

Location in Abingdon could not be any better. Wonderful back yard view....easy walk from town cventer. Room was as I expected (I took one of the cheaper ones). Bathroom was fine. Breakfast is excellent and comes with the room. Good value! Facilities are great Wi-Fi worked after some hiccups.

Room is a bit "basic". Would have been nice to have Kleenex in the room. No A/C but the fan worked well enough. Also, as everywhere in the UK there are not enough electrical outlets to charge devices. Facilities really only lack some elevator to help carry suitcases upstairs. Still a young staff lady was very helpful Wi-Fi didn't work at first and after several tries reception had to go an extra step to make sure I could log in. Still, it got done, but they need to go to a better system as it could be a problem for those who check in after hours.

The buildings on site are well-renovated and breathed history, framed by a canal and a river active with boats. We stayed in the main lodge, which had a large lobby, restaurant and bar. The two rooms we stayed in had character and space, were comfortable, and had large windows overlooking well kept gardens. The staff were amazingly helpful, attentive and friendly. The breakfast was superb. Great location too, two blocks from town, where there were many choices for food and drink. A perfect setting for a wonderful holiday.

There was some noise transfer from adjacent rooms, but it was minimal. One of the rooms was hot, as it was a hot day, but portable circulation fans in the room helped a bit.

Food was hot .

Breakfast was good, would have liked fried eggs , more choice would have been nice but had to have scrambled egg as the only option avaliable. The coffee was cold after 5 minutes of pouring and was not very nice either. Orange juice was in wooden boxes which was not clearly labeled , so was stood in front of it when I asked where the orange juice was. The tables where not layed so there was no salt pepper. Ketchup on table , there was no serviette until we sat down and the girl hurriedly put place mats and cutlery down. There was no pastries left and was not refilled.
