Good selection for breakfast, hot food, toast, sausage, bacon, scrambled egg and beans, cold breakfast of choice of cereal or yogurt and fruit, as much as you wanted, all fresh and regularly refilled . Restaurant plenty of seating. Two wall hung televisions. Public areas were cleaned regularly and all appear in working order. Our room was of a good size, All was clean. If you needed anything staff were helpful and where they could help they would. The public area also had a vending maching, cold water dispenser and a microwave. There was a limited menu for hot food available during the rest of the day unto a certain time. You will need to check the finer points with the staff for your particular day.

Note - this is a CASH LESS site, so cards only, which although wasn't an issue with us, it could be to others. Also the rubbish bins outside of the entrance need emptying more regular.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in January whilst attending a course locally. I have to say that I was not expecting much in the way of creature comforts, it was just a place to sleep. However... How wrong was I?! My room (124) was large, well-equipped and very, very clean. The fact that there was a steam iron and ironing board was a welcome surprise. six pillows provided, three sets of fluffy white towels and plenty of tea/coffee provided. The bed was lovely and comfy, the bathroom spotless and large, the heating adjustable to be spot on. Then we have the breakfast. Simple, but delicious! I did note that the scrambled egg was perfect (so unusual in most hotels). I did have a snack on one evening and that too was delicious and well-prepared! The icing on the cake was the staff. They were and from reading the reviews, are always, nothing short of excellent. They had the time to welcome everyone, enquire how their day had gone, ask if there was anything else was needed and honestly made my stay extra special. I would not normally stay in a Holiday Inn Express through choice, but this one has changed my mind. Well done!

The car park is cramped and if you have a large car, difficult to negotiate!

Breakfast a little basic, no choice of how eggs are done. We just had scrambled eggs, but we would have liked fried egg. No fried tomato, Fried bread, black pudding, Hash browns, or my favorite, Mushrooms. We had a very basic breakfast which was, Scrambled Egg, Baked beans, sausage, bacon and toast or just bread if wanted. There was a bowl of Fruit and a few cereals, Plus beverages. Tea, coffee fruit etc. What we had was nice but we would have liked more choice.

When we arrived we wanted a cup of tea and coffee. We were directed to where there was a tea/Coffee machine however the milk churn was empty, so we had to ask for milk, we were then given some milk sachets. But why was there not a mini fridge with some in it? We would have liked another cup of tea but it meant having to ask for more milk again.

Comfortable room. Good location near A1 but not noisy.

Reception staff were indifferent.

Accommodation was much as expected - friendly staff, good breakfast. If I was in area again would I stay at the Holiday Inn Express again? Yes. I would be happy to stay there again and would not bother looking for anything else.

Car parking arrangement! The physical car park was fine. The idiotic process to avoid paying was not! Having been threatened with an excessive parking fee at another hotel (different chain and different parking company) I was particularly concerned about avoiding being incorrectly charged (it should be free for guests!). Make sure the receptionist registers your vehicle for you and check when the exemption ceases; some systems assume you have left on the day of departure even if you only nip out to, say, refuel your car and then return to the hotel. So even if you then leave before the check-out time you still receive a penalty charge notice.

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Welcoming on arrival (quite late) and happy to offer an alternative room when there was a noise issue above me which meant I couldn’t sleep. Breakfast was varied, fresh and plentiful and the bed and pillows were so comfortable.

Just the noise everywhere! Drunken group in reception which also doubled as the bar. Really noisy above me but got moved to a quieter room. But it’s a hotel so what can you do?! Just big up the staff who turned what could have been a sleepless night into a comfy night.

On arrival the tall lad behind the reception was very pleasant and helpful,and sorted the parking out for us.Later whilst I was still at the East of England showground 16mm Garden railway show my wife walked back to the Hotel,the reception helped her to log onto the wi fi so that she could use her laptop, until I got back.The room was very tidy although the bedside lights could have been better cleaned, as when you switched them on you could see the dust floating in the light.The bed was really comfy with a good choice of pillows and the curtains certainly blocked out the external light.The Breakfast was fresh,hot and very well cooked and prepared - excellent.

Not a lot really.Perhaps a bit more attention to dusting as mentioned,and a Toilet cleaning brush would be helpful.

Loved the breakfast, lots of choice and location good, my lad couldn’t eat much for breakfast so the takeaway bag was great for him an hour later. All the hot breakfast was cooked very well and replaced regularly. The rooms were a little warm but found a fan as well as iron and board without having to ask. Bathroom spotless.

When booking I booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child. Rang to confirm arrangements a day before, but when we arrived the booking still wasn’t correct and they lady on duty was a bit exasperated.

Surprisingly for a chain hotel and Peterborough, this hotel has staff that always acknowledge guests, spot if you're looking for something and, obviously want to do a good job. The manager clearly gets in amongst the action and leads by example. The room was well maintained and the broken window catch we reported was mended within a few hours of it being reported. Breakfast buffet was really good and well stocked.

The bathroom was slightly 'tired', but still immaculate.
