The accommodation and location was perfect

Breakfast first morning wasn’t up to scratch and I believe the food I had from the bar gave myself and partner food poisoning and we ended up missing my cousins 30th birthday party.

Good looking bedroom, comfortable bed, nice bathroom (with reservations). Great food in the bar (but had to wait 30 minutes for it because bar staff overrun). Very comfortable public rooms. Good location next to A! and absolutely quiet from road noise.

TV didn't work fully - restricted stations - even moved rooms to be able to see something we particularly wanted to see, and then moved back when we found the TV in the second room was as bad, No ventilation in the bathroom and no shaver socket. One member of staff at the bar taking drinks and food orders is not enough on a Friday evening, especially when wedding guests are arriving for the following day (they went elsewhere).

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. We had lunch in the restaurant on our arrival. The service was good and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a lovely garden patio room. Lots of hanging and drawer space. Lovely large bathroom with walk-in shower. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent dinner and breakfast. Staff were also very good and professional. Rooms were first class

Had to wait until 5.30pm for rooms to be ready. The telephone call from the Hotel made no mention of any delays. Had we known we could have used the time better on our journey to the hotel.

Exceptional hotel in historic surroundings. Everything was good and we would stay again if in the area. The room was large and spotless, the bed very cosy and comfortable. En-suite bathroom was big, the shower excellent. All staff were courteous and professional throughout the Hotel.

Only thing we would comment on is the breakfast. Described as 'full English' was disappointing, very small and not substantial enough (the bacon was mostly fat and very little meat!) However, on the plus side there was fruit and cereal and lovely bread available too, which more than made up for the small cooked offering :)

The breakfast was good and the staff helpful, however, there did seem to be an issue regarding clearing used dishes away. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable and the towels excellent. The Dining Room, bar area and Lounge were comfortable, light and airy. Parking spaces were plentiful and good.

The bathroom had no handles or supports in the shower and no shelf upon which to put shampoo, shower gel etc.. You had to be bending down all the time. Also the portable towel rail was not good. There was not room for both bath towel or hand towel to air together, a wall rail would have been better. The food was good for dinner, but the portions rather meagre for some dishes and the coast slightly on the expensive size. In the bedroom, you could make Tea or Coffee, but no biscuits as there are in many hotels. We had to ask and we got some, eventually, they were no readily to hand but the staff did find some from the bar. These issues rather took away from the finer points the hotel was trying to make.

The hotel is really lovely, nice location gardens and walking by the river, the grounds are very tidy. easy to find, parking is easy and well set out, the rooms were very comfortable and clean, coffee teas were very good, showers are really good and powerful, totally dog friendly, food was very good, steak is melt in the mouth the staff in the restaurant are really good and can't do enough for you, breakfast really tasty and a good selection. Top marks to the staff they're all really friendly and go out of the way to help, special mention for Rachel a really lovely person who made us very welcome especially Teddy and Skye our dogs, she was marvellous.

Could not find anything to dislike. Will definitely go back and stay longer.

Breakfast ten out of ten. When we booked we didn't realise hotel only 100 yards or so from the A1 main road. So very easy to find hotel but couldn't have bedroom window open at night, too noisey! Had to use the air con but then we had the noise of the air con fan. That said, bedrom was very comfortable and en suite was fantastic. Had dinner for the two nights we stayed. Food was brilliant, good choice, well presented and serving staff very helpful qhen trying to choose. The bar area was very inviting, good choice and also served a good quality wine by the glass. We'll come back next year. Thank you.

Traffic noise.

We had dinner during our stay and although it was quite empty, maybe because we were in the dog friendly area, the service and food were really good. Breakfast was very tasty, I think that on the first day there was a staff shortage as there only seemed to be two members of staff serving everyone and the service was slow and we had to remind a few times for coffee. On the second day this was all resolved and the service was excellent. The bar was a good atmosphere and the local village is very picturesque. The room was very comfortable and had some great black out curtains.

The breakfast service on the first day, other than that our stay was very enjoyable.

I stayed there with my partner and puppy. DOG FRIENDLY They provided a room with access to their yard, bowls for dog's food and water, and even a dog's bed. They allowed the puppy to be with us for breakfast, lunch, and even 8 course dinner. AMAZING FOOD We had both traditional and continental breakfast. What they had on offer was very tasty. The lunch we had was mind-blowing: I'd never eaten such tasty potato fries with peppercorn sauce and mushroom pasta. The eight course vegan course was worth every single penny - every bite was absolutely enjoyable. GREAT SERVICE The staff, be it cleaners, waiting staff, receptionists, or chefs, was friendly, approachable, calm and cheerful. COMFORTABLE ROOMS The room had a comfy bed, with a table, chairs, a safe place to leave valuable belongings, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, the wardrobe and side tables, and the shower was lovely with hair shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, hand cream, robes, and slippers. COUNTRYSIDE The hotel is 20mins away by a taxi from Peterborough station. The hotel is in a little village with a couple of pubs and a little store/post office. Everything else is the countryside. There's a Nene park, a lovely farm nearby, and fields for horses nearby, where you can go with your dog.
