The friendliness and feeling of companionship. This is a genuinely family-run hotel, and Colin Andrew and Joanne made us feel part of the family. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but convenient for many expeditions to seaside, moors or towns. It looks like a motel but is a very well-run hotel. Very good English breakfasts, with excellent fruit salad if you want it as well as cereals. True Yorkshire hospitality. I would go back if holidaying in the area again.
Nothing really. It is very good of its kind

Lovely family run hotel.Nothing was too much troublesome. the room was large and spotless serviced every day.Sheets and towels were good quality and changed several times during our stay. Good choice of food for breakfast and evening dinner. We received very helpful information about places to visit. All in all, we had great week with an extremely nice family we hope to visit again sometime. .

Arrival was very comforting as I had not stayed here before. Everything I needed to know was explained in a way that left nothing to doubt, right down to which way to turn the key to extract it from the room door lock. All the staff were very amenable and attentive. My room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, which I enjoyed . The bar seemed to be well stocked and the meal menu was quite adequate foe all tasets.
I am unable to think of anything that I didn't like.

The Beansheaf is a very welcoming hotel. Staff were so helpful, food was excellent. Would recommend the scampi, hunters chicken, steak was very tender. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again. We spent 3 nights here and were well impressed. If you like a quiet night, not a rowdy one this is the place for you. Situated on a main road so great for exploring attractions
There was nothing to dislike, it's perfect in every way.

Although on a busy road, it was very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have an evening meal but breakfast was excellent. The staff were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble, and although we didn't expect it, the room was tyded and made up each day which was excellent.
Only a very slight issue, maybe over time invest in some blackout curtains, . However, despite this, I will look forward to staying again.

Brilliant hotel just perfect for our trip to Flamingo Land as it's less than 5 minute drive away. The owners/staff made us feel very welcome right from the beginning of our stay. The rooms were bright and a decent size and very clean with everything you would need for a few days away. We ate breakfast each morning and had an evening meal too, both of which were lovely!. It's clear to see that the owners love what they do, and put their heart and soul into it. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again soon.
Only a small thing but as others have suggested: blackout blinds would be great

My schedule did not allow me o eat at the hotel but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Beansheaf which exceeded my expectations. Some adverse comments had been expressed in online reviews and I can only conclude that these were placed by competitors. My room was clean, warm and had everything that I needed.
it was dark when I arrived and I did not notice the Hotel on my first drive past - no thanks to the satnav which had the hotel on the other side of the road and I spent some time wandering round a business site, a few cottages, one with a 'secret garden'(nice) and a barn or two.

Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome, including accounting for a gluten allergy which isn't always easy to find. The room was bright and very comfy and they even refilled all the teabags during our stay. Very well situated for what we wanted to do during our visit.
In a perfect world, it could have been a little bit easier to walk from the hotel to the nearby town or theme park (footpaths by roads were a bit cramped or non-existant). Obviously, this is no fault of the hotel and there is a bus stop right outside but it may be relevant to you. It didn't impact our enjoyment of the trip much at all though!

The room was very spacious and had a big table with space for everyone. We also liked having a bath after a long day out. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Staff was very nice and helpful. Very close to Pickering and local attractions. There is a restaurant too but we did not try it this time.
A fridge to keep drinks would help. Altough the location is beautiful, it is very isolated, so you need to make sure you have everything you need. The closest shops are in Pickering, but they probably close pretty early at night.
