The Mount is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the Market Square. Our room was at the top of the building, so nice and quiet (even though there was a public bar downstairs). The room itself was large, simply furnished but clean and well presented. Our breakfast was good, and there was a nice range of cereals, fruit and yogurt etc if you didn’t want a full cooked breakfast.

Very little to say in terms of feedback, I guess the room may get quite cold in winter as it’s a single glaze sash window, and perhaps if you’re not good at climbing stairs this might not be the place for you. But otherwise we had a good stay.

Malton is such a beautiful setting and the hotel building is amazing, as are the views. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We would have loved to have had a drink in the bar but our little boy was tired from his day at Flamingo Land so we ordered take away and had an early night. The breakfast was delicious!!!

I could not get logged into the Wi-Fi at all. The TV provided was a smart TV but that didn’t work as well as it should due to not being connected to the Wi-Fi either. My son is autistic and loves watching YouTube so the smart TV would have been fabulous for this had it worked. The room was quite basic but had everything you would need.

Good check in, great breakfast and decent shower. Bed was comfortable and had a good nights sleep. There were decent enough coffee/tea facilities in the room.

The rain effect showerhead had obviously never been descaled as half of the nozzles weren’t clear. Ended up doing a spot of housekeeping to stop it spraying everywhere. When I went down to breakfast, I couldn’t get out of the room due to the lock mechanism falling off. Thankfully I travel with a multi-tool and was able to put the grub screw back in. The car park lines could do with a repaint as it was full and ended up having to park against a hedge as others hadn’t parked within the lines properly.

Lovely warm atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was very good and just enough in the plate; it was nice not to feel obliged to finish a large breakfast. The room was what we expected and slept very well in the comfy bed. The heating was efficient and warmed the room quickly. Loved the bar area with the open fire, making it a place to look forward to go to at the end of the day.

Parking was limited and was displaced by patrons to Will's bar under the hotel. Not sure if alternate parking was available and perhaps we should have asked. An EV charge point would have made the visit a little better, so had to drive into a nearby public car park to keep topping up in the evenings.

Everything was readily available to suit my immediate requirements PLUS a warm personal welcome on arrival, a determined effort to assist during one's stay (ie securing a booking at a local restaurant at short notice at a busy time) and on departure which left one looking forward to making a future visit

The shower mechanism per hot to cold and vice versa proved a learning curve which could have consequences (ie an unanticipated discharge of very hot water with obvious consequences) This point has been reflected with a degree of reluctance since everything else was up to/beyond expectation

A warm welcome, the accommodation was spotlessly clean. Nice shower and tea-making facilities in the room. The bed was a little uncomfortable the first night, an extra topper was fitted for the remainder of our stay, no fuss, very comfortable. Great location for wandering into town or driving around the area.

Lack of gluten-free options on the menu.

What a lovely place my mate and I shared a twin room it was spacious and very clean great pressure in the shower. We loved the bar downstairs really nice there is another bar attached to the building around the corner but I preferred the one in the main hotel. Breakfast was lovely and made to order I would highly recommend the mount for a couple of nights

Would be nice to have a mini fridge so I have cold water

The hotel staff accommodate our early check-in despite it being hours before official check in time. The rooms were ready and cleaned for our early arrival with everything arranged over the phone and a brief greeting during the check in. The breakfast was made to order, couple of options but more than sufficient enough for a cooked breakfast supplemented with cereal, fruit and yoghurt.

Location is perfect for roaming around town. Free parking. Lovely surrounding grounds. Spacious well equipped room, comfy bed, separate seating area. Most awesome powerful shower I’ve ever had, like a fireman’s hose!! Great choice of food available in bar and dining area, good vibe about the place, superb breakfast. Really friendly and professional staff, friendly community in general, it’s like being in your own local bar. What’s not to love, ticked all boxes

Liked the location, easy parking and feel of The Mount and the staff/owners were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed breakfast too, my favourite options were available and nicely cooked. Didn't feel too stuffy.

Was previously a hotel now a B&B so was unsure if I was in the right place when it said hotel. Maybe a notice in the porch would be reassuring. If anyone else worries about that you're in the right place you are and it's lovely once you're in. Good people running it. x
