Friendly staff, great new refurbishment, food was excellent. Rooms fitted out and serviced to a high standard. Nice little extras provided such as a bed for our dog. He liked it so much we bought him one the same.
The administration of the booking and charging was a mess. The new team didn't understand the basics of booking.com type of bookings. Even though we paid upfront to b.com we were going to be charged for 2 of our rooms and DID actually get charged for 3 rooms @ a total of ÂŁ1450! Now sorted. Being newly opened after refurbishment, the service and computer system were very disorganised.

Eight things to mention. Lovely building, beautifully renovated, maintaining the character of 'traditional' Scotland. A log burning fire in the lounge and comfortable seating. A spacious sumptuous bedroom and lovely en suite shower room. The food was delicious. We ate dinner and a cooked breakfast. The Chef is gifted in our opinion. Staff were all welcoming. Darren kindly remembered my husband's wish to try a 'Dark and Stormy' - a complimentary drink - and mdh enjoyed it very much.
Three things to mention. The first - the mattress was very firm..A wee bit too firm for our liking but that's personal taste. Second 'dislike' - the coffee machine was not functioning so we chose the hot chocolate thinking it would be special. Not so. ÂŁ10 charged for two very ordinary hot chocolates after dinner which frankly tasted like the cheap stuff we used to get 50+ years ago from a vending machine after swimming at the local baths. Hmm that was disappointing. Thirdly, tech issues. The link to the website so we could stream from our mobiles to the room TV did not work.and we did not want to bother anyone about it so watched 'Shetland' live instead. The room phone was not yet connected but we were reassured the Night Porter was available should we need them.

We absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to return. We received such a warm welcome upon arrival. All the staff we met were absolutely wonderful - so helpful, kind and professional. The recent refurbishment is impeccable. We loved the decor and it made the whole place feel very cosy. Our room was to die for. So luxurious and comfortable, and they’d thought of everything. It had an actual king size bed, not 2 singles pushed together - heaven! There’s a snack bar on the landing with a mini fridge containing fresh milk for tea and coffee and a variety of delicious snacks. Dinner was superb. The staff are very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and the food itself was delicious. There are lots of special touches throughout the hotel, showing that they’ve thought of everything and they really care about comfort, from wellies and dog towels in the entrance hall to the massive log burning stove being already lit when we came down to breakfast. Ignore any older negative reviews and give this place a try!
Nothing major and definitely didn’t detract from our stay, but my iPhone 14 wouldn’t cast to the TV in our room. Luckily, my boyfriend’s android worked. Just wanted to mention in case this can be looked into - seems a shame to have spent money on the new tech if it doesn’t work with some phones. Other than that, we couldn’t fault this place.

Warm welcome from the team, very personal approach who clearly take pride in their jobs. Beautiful interior design, everything high quality. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Dinner - excellent all round, from service to standard of the food. Breakfast also good choice and cooked fresh to order. The location and the gardens, whilst right beside the hustle and bustle of Pitlochry, make you feel like you're in the country. Great location for walking from the door, thanks to the team for local info.
Only one issue whilst staying was the radiator in the bathroom wasn't working. The heated towel rail was piping hot though, so it helped prevent the room getting too cold (outside temperature was - 7 overnight)

The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Lived the log fire in the lounge area, great coming down in the morning to the smell of a log fire! Breakfast was super, it was a change from the last time we stayed which was buffet style, but I think it was better getting your order taken, best scrambled eggs I've had!
Can't say I didn't like anything, my only grump is the cost for the dog staying! The last number of times we stayed we had a one off charge, this time it was ÂŁ20 per dog per night!! I personally think this is expensive, puts the cost of our stay much higher, especially if we have a "deal"! I did query it and was told that was always the case and all the hotels charge per night! I beg to differ, plus at other hotels we have stayed at. We get a doggy pack, usually treat, poo bags, water bowl a wee dog bed or blanket, The Pine Trees gave nothing.

Location and friendly, helpful staff.
The breakfast arrangements have changed, presumably as a result of the new ownership. The breakfast which used to be magnificent is now a rather disappointingly frugal affair. A sad lonely little croissant and a minature pan o chocolate along with an uncovered dish of butter were already out on each table awaiting each guests arrival, it may have been possible to simply inhale each item without the need to chew upon them. It’s never a good sign when you have to ask for more than two thin rashers of bacon, one rather undersized mushroom, a piece of potato scone that made a Craft Dairy slice look positively gigantic and a venison sausage encased in some impenetrable casing. Nicely cooked and served, just not very much of it if your constituan doesn’t like eggs and beans.

The Hotel was lovely, beautifully painted all White and decorated well inside too The meals were good both dinner and breakfast
We were placed upstairs in the highest room, almost under an eave, loads of stairs to go up and down before hit the main staircase, with a lot of luggage which we had, was most impractical. They were great in assisting us with all our luggage. Room very tight, smallish room too and bathroom under the eaves, no room to swing a cat and it was pricey not cheap. Other downside was the dinner menu, didn't have prices on it of what you were choosing, so we asked a waiter to explain, which he couldn't so had to call a chef who lived close by, to come and explain to us why he had presented the menu the way he had. No where else had a menu with prices on it been presented the way he had done it.

I have been here before and previously loved the hotel and location. But this time it was even better than before- the staff have dialled up their customer service to top level- really friendly, happy help and think outside the box, but not be intrusive. Sorted luggage, suggested walks, shared their love of the area, and were v helpful the next morning with prompt check out and breakfast so we could make our early train. Breakfast is delicious- and much nicer now they have gone back to table service for cooked breakfast (like they used to) rather than the canteen style “bacon being kept warm under lights” set up there was last year. I love this hotel, it feels really speedier, and this year it was even better and more special. I’m really looking forward to coming back next year.

Perfect location, a quiet corner, but within easy walking distance of this small but bustling tourist town. Very professional, but friendly welcome, and this went a long way with the welcoming vibe throughout our stay. Something of the now sadly old-fashioned customer service courtesies. Beautiful building, nicely furnished within the period (if some odd choice pop art prints in places). Good size, comfortable bedroom. Will always return here if the same 'feel' can be sustained.
Non mainstream diet provision a bit of a grind. Notified in advance and readiy accepted. Welcoming manager(?) very much on the ball but not necessarily communicated to waiting staff at breakfast. Sort of got there in the end however.

Pine Trees is a stunning hotel as are the grounds it sits on, great parking facilities. The grand entrance hall is absolutely stunning. The roaring fire in the lounge was most welcome and cosy. We enjoyed looking at the artwork. The staff are all lovely and helpful. The location was ideal for us, being a just a short distance from the town centre. The beds were really comfy and breakfast was amazing, grrat selection and plenty of it.!
The shower cubicle desperately needs a good clean as the grout was really grubby. Also the shower head is really close to the wall and the handle lifts to put the shower on, in order to get under the shower head you need to get very close to the wall and I accidentally knocked the handle turning the water very hot which could potentially be extremely dangerous. The bedroom furniture was really tired. The tea tray is very low down under the dressing table, I felt this was not ideal.
