The hotel staff and service was first rate, everyone was friendly helpful and professional and very welcoming. The room was lovely, well designed spotless and the attention to every detail to make for a comfortable stay. I loved the bed sheets and the bath robe, so soft! The spa was great, very quite clean and well kept, the "sent" room is a must visit. The grounds are beautiful and you have very easy access to the town.

The only small disappointment was that you can hear some noise for the highway, but if you have a room facing the lake I'm sure this isn't the case. The building is under renovations, you see building materials but no work or noise when we were there.

The accommodation was excellent - I was in a lodge room and they really are first class. The private dining room was also very nice. Main restaurant also quite spacious so tables nicely spread apart. Continental Breakfast was nicely presented. Team at Fonab all very warm & friendly and doing their best for guests. The barman in Sandemans was a credit to Fonab - he excelled at customer service and he was short handed being the only one on.

The cooked breakfast was pretty poor - Scottish and Kedgeree. The Kedgeree has skin on the fish - apparently that is the way they do it at Fonab although that isn't specified on the menu. It was truly awful.

From the minute you walk into reception it is an out of this world experience. Mike greeted us, gave us a tour of the property and shared some history of the castle. The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They all made us feel welcome. Big shout out to Mike and Davie who always greeted us with a smile and a cheery story. The facilities were more than you can ask for, the outdoor pool/hot tub is a must try even in bad weather. The views in the restaurant and lounge were breathtaking. I had a hot stone massage, Elma was fantastic making sure I had a great experience. We had dinner in the restaurant. It was outstanding, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much bother. Everything about our stay was 5*

Absolutely nothing.

Hotel is in an ideal location to visit the area with the grounds and views excellent. Loch View Room was great. Food was also excellent, both Breakfast and Dinner, to a high standard. Staff very courteous and helpful. Spa area good, but some negatives as below, but overall thoroughly enjoyed time there and will return.

Found the pool area a bit small particularly when busy. Experience not helped by one of the Steam rooms and a Jacuzzi being out of action. Changing rooms - not ideal layout when busy, particularly female (lack of cubicles).

Location amazing, walk into pitlochry beautiful, staff polite, tour of hotel on way to room and a bit of history about the building. Breakfast was fantastic. Tip to walk into pitlochry. Room 104 not much view but beautiful room.

The beautiful building is covered in scaffolding as they have issues with the flat roofs on the new buildings. Building materials everywhere. Restrics views from room and outdoor section of spa. Scottish licence laws sign in room, obviously people have been bringing their own drink but not everyone does this we thought this took away from the experience. The person on reception mentioned how I booked in a negative way I would of booked direct if they price matched.

Lovely friendly welcome. Lovely room, spa facilities were good. I thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the evening. Breakfast was delicious- Lovely variety and great view from restaurant.

Very little, it was lovely. I’d say attention to detail in the lodge rooms could be improved- eg. Bathroom door handle in L25 not fitted correctly, paint to cover new entrance not same colour. I see there is maintenance work currently ongoing around the lodges and spa so am confident the small imperfections will be rectified quickly.

The property was beautiful and very modern, the front staff/reception was lovely and extremely helpful. Spa facilities were extremely relaxing and the full place was very clean. Views from the car area/dinning area were also a nice touch.

This is the only part of my trip that has let it down. The gentleman serving us seemed very ignorant towards us. He gave us not chat and made us feel we were unwanted in the restaurant. It was sad as the food was delicious and the scenery was amazing, definitely a place I’d like to go back but this made me feel uncomfortable. We thought maybe that’s just his ways, try not to take it personally however other tables stationed around us, he seemed very nice and helpful. I’m not sure what we must have done.

Spa (except we weren't told the closing time, so we got caught short), amazing staff who were so kind, helpful and welcoming, great amenities (Noble Isle is a favourite), yummy breakfast- infact one of the best I've had, especially the porridge!!) And fantastic views.

The room was a little worn. Scuffs in the bathroom. £31 for 2 gins!!! The blind on the lodge door didn't give much privacy as it had a gap between window and blind, meaning you could see into the room. I think this could be an easy fix. Honestly, it was a very pleasant stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a really nice lunch in the restaurant overlooking the river. Our room on the third floor was lovely, the bed very comfortable and there was a good range of toiletries available . We enjoyed spending time in the spa which was located in a separate building very close to the main hotel building. Breakfast was superb with a good variety of food available, and all freshly cooked to order.

Breakfast was superb. Best full scottish I've ever had. Delicious. Room very clean and comfy and serviced twice a day. Spa and pool clean and couldn't be more convenient for the hotel, literally 2 mins walk away.

We had one dinner in the brasserie. Food was very nice but at nearly 180 pounds for 2 it didn't feel exceptional. Portions very small. Mussel chowder was 3 mussels with a small jug of curried sauce. Waiters were nice, friendly but service a little haphazard. Eg no spoon for the soup, took some time to bring one. No wine list brought. However the location and view is exceptional and the wine list enormous. If you have very deep pockets and aren't too hungry you may appreciate it more.
