Room was comfort able and well equipped. Good Bath and Shower . Breakfast was superb ,with the excellent Amy ensuring we had everything we wanted. The evening meal was huge ,actually too much and of good quality. Excellent venue with friendly and caring Staff. Excellent location for our event (Cross Country) at the Racecourse.

The Towel rail in the room didnt work. It wasnt clear that this was a busy Wedding and Funeral venue, including a noisy evening function although we were warned the day before and the party kept the noise down as much as they could beneath our room. The music was meant to stop at midnight and it did on the dot.

Lovely, spacious room. Excellent breakfast.

The bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle was minute! A little more planning when fitted could have facilitated a bigger shower and more spacious bathroom without compromising the size of the room itself. Why do hoteliers scrimp on bathrooms? Noise from a wedding 'do' on our final night! Surely some consideration could be given to putting the wedding guests above the function room and other guests away from it? Or is that too difficult? It was a rather upsetting end to what was an excellent five night stay!

Very helpful reception and restaurant/bar staff. Comfortable and very clean bedrooms with well-stocked tea/coffee tray. As a top wedding venue in this area the staff are an important part of a well-run and successful business. It has huge attractive grounds which provide pleasant seating areas with full bar service on nice sunny days and well designed areas for the many weddings. Plenty of guest parking. Fascinating people- watching at the weddings. Great fun!

As one of the busiest wedding venues in the area dont expect a quiet peaceful hotel. The breakfast buffet or breakfast service is a perfectly adequate English breakfast, but only sliced white and brown bread - a wider range of fresh breads, pastries, fruit, with ham and cheeses would be nice for those not wanting a hot breakfast. Plenty of guest parking except on days when there are three weddings!

Excellent location with beautiful grounds including a lily pond and many terraces, inside the hotel was very nice and traditional and our rooms were very large and nicely decorated, i had one of the bungalow rooms ( room 25) outside which was very nice and modernly decorated inside but still had features such as old beams and stonework and came with its own terrace with a view and my sister was given a lovely room usually used as a bridal suite ( room 1) with a lovely view of the gardens and beautiful antique furniture. The staff we met were all lovely and very accommodating right from the initial check in staff to the restaurant staff to the management staff, the bar staff and the servicing and cleaning the rooms staff as we were getting ready to leave. We could tell they were all happy to work there and this carried over into their interactions with us, they had a very nice team spirit amongst them we noticed which was nice to see. We asked for a later check out too and they kindly also accommodated this. The breakfast which was included in the price was very nice and consisted of a full English breakfast alongside cereals and toast etc if preferred. We had breakfast in the very nice breakfast/restaurant room where the staff were lovely and kept up to demand as it was quite busy and then finished our coffee outside on the restaurant terrace which they were very happy to let us do. I would highly recommend Kings Croft and we intend to go back with my parents and stay on other weekends to further enjoy the hotel as we had gone just for the night for my cousins wedding held close by.

We really enjoyed everything and it sounds like the hotel are adding extra facilities to the outside space where you will be able to get pizza alongside the mobile bar they have in the gardens now.

As was advertised this was a nice, family-run hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The meals were reasonably priced, especially the breakfast.

It was great to see that the hotel is thriving with the wedding customers, but of course that impacts on the other guests. I was very pleased when the disco closed at 11.45pm so I could get some sleep - it was not possible before then. I did contemplate asking for another room - I was right next door to the dance area - but as I say, in the end it was not an issue and reasonable steps were taken to think of others.

Everything was great

The disturbance, two police cars and ambulance arriving. We rang to change our evening meal time from 6pm to 5pm. Was put on hold and was told everything was fine, we arrived at 4.50pm to find the doors to the Edward suite were closed and a member of staff (professionally) directed us to our table… but once seated there was police and ambulance attending the hotel. I suffer with anxiety agoraphobia and depression, this seemed a lovely place for us to stay, but it put me off my evening meal that cost me and my partner £55 plus drinks.. breakfast was cold on arrival so ate a small part of it and ended up with toast marmite/honey. I understand things happen but this has put me off staying here again.. I also didn’t didn’t sleep well due to the stress it caused me

Room was quite basic but lovely and warm. It was nice to have a patio with lovely views, but too cold to use it. Bed was very comfortable. Dinner was very good. The tuna was amazing. Breakfast was also good with good quality bacon.

The amount of security cameras. We counted 27, which can be quite off-putting. I did not like the tiled floors in the bedroom. Also the annexed dining. Dining should be in the main hotel, but they appear to use these rooms for private hire, so it can be quite cold and obviously wet walking from bungalows to dining area.

Tranquil surroundings. The chalet room and the disabled facilities just made my stay so much easier. The adapted bathroom the thought and detail ramps the small things. As a stick user to assist my mobility all the things added to and aided my stay. It was also value for money. Other last min stop over accommodation are great I’ve used them, but breakfast was included here and saved us money and time of searching for somewhere to eat, it was in the middle of where we needed to be as we had a couple of destinations.

Lovely hotel . Lots going on . We had a room that could hear the music until midnight . But it did go quiet after that . Beautiful room . Little heater if it got cold . We didn't need it through the night . Breakfast was clean ( no burnt items ) hot and fresh. Plenty to choose from . Would definitely go back . The only downside was some staff could of done with being a little more polite . Understand they have a busy schedule and lots of events going on. But a smile costs nothing . Booking in was easy and that member of staff was lovely Beautiful surroundings .

Nice and roomy (bungalow)

Return visit after 20 years to celebrate being together 20 years As I used to be a secret shopper I’m afraid I was still in that mode. There were marks on the dark slate floor which indicated probably not washed each time emptied also in the dining room the chair that I sat on for had crumbs between seat and arm rests Not complaining but just a comment. Overall we had a good stay
